Oil Company with Service Contracts
We are looking for a new oil company that has service contracts to cover maintenance and emergency services. We currently have Region Oil and they are THE WORST. They let the tank go empty, they’ve been out 4 times already this year and we STILL have a problem. They were supposed to be out between 3-7 this morning and here we are at 7:10am after staying up all night. No phone call, no email. We feel trapped because the service contract covers us in emergencies. We have to get out of this!!!! Any recommendations?
HappyTeacher Oil is the worst followed by propane. Switch to natural gas if you have access to it. And if you have oil with forced air versus baseboard even worse. Next time they come shadow them, talk with them, make sure the nozzles are replaced if they need to be...
iJay I would suggest going with one of the discount oil companies and build a good relationship with a plumber that does emergency heat calls. Have the unit serviced/cleaned once a year preferably in the fall and chances are you will not need emergency services. The down side to the discount oil guys is you need to watch the oil tank and call in an order when you are low!
Dadof3We made the switch about three years ago after being with Region for years. My mother and mother-in-law did the same. They were getting very expensive...the service plans...monthly contracts and the price per gallon were outrageous. We use Hackettstown Oil (moms are both on automatic- never ran out of oil!) and we order online for the discount. They always deliver when expected. We use TGM for our annual cleanings. They offer emergency service. Check their pricing for normal service hours versus emergency. We have been very happy with them. We feel secure knowing we can call if we need them!
Gardenfish We have been with Hackettstown Oil for years with no issues with the oil. Prior to that we were with Mayberry till Region bought them out. My parents had Region and all they had was issues. At one time the Service tech showed up because of a problem and said "what idiot worked on this?" The only ones who worked on it was Region.
For servicing, we use Scotty and Son, but he can be a challenge sometimes to get out for regular servicing. As far as an Emergency call, "Just had my first one in a very, very long time," he came right out and took care of the issue. I'm so happy to not be with Region Oil!
4paws Eco Fuel out of Netcong. Just Google them. I switched from Region oil 2 years ago after 20 years. Mark the owner is great, they offer full service, auto delivery, 24 hour emergency service etc. Check out their web site. For what my family over paid Mayberry, Region oil I could have purchased a house.
