No. BP and Shell are separate companies and there are no plans for a merger.

Debbie Sayer have often wondered who sets the gas price at the pump is it BP or is it the owner /renter of the station.

BP was 'Top Tier' before and stopped in 2017. They thought they could stand on their own advertising so cut the B.S. cost.
It is not an actual certification of any merit - it is a paid fee to join a group for advertising purposes.
Much like BBB - a company created a fancy name- Better Business Bureau (sounds official, almost like a gov agency eh?)
Neither mean anything. BBB is just an early version of Angie's List- where business pay them to have a listing.
Their slogan is- "The Better Business Bureau is built on clarity, credibility, and trust"
No- it's built on confusion, ignorance, old people.
Same for Top Tier.

You will see all sorts of names on there that you have never heard of- and probably drive right by to go to a 'name brand' even though they pay to be in this fake club of 'better'.
Some stations play the game- hoping the outlay of cash for perceived recognition will drive increased sales and pay off in the end.
Reality- modern cars (fuel injected w/ variable ign maps, fuel trims, etc)- along with modern fuel filters- fill up with whatever you want- where ever you want.
The 80' are long gone...
But there is a sucker every minute. I should start a Josh certified approved burger joint list.
This is all nothing new- but it blows my mind people aren't aware.
I was talking to a friend- (in his 60's) and he was amazed when he realized during our conversation- that all the talk shows are paid advertisements from the guests- movie actors, music artists, authors, etc.
I also told him to go on youtube for whatever his 'favorite show was' and listen to an episode with the laugh track removed.
If you do- you will most likely change your viewing habits- or at least admit they are a guilty pleasure- like junk food. Once you see it- you can't unsee it.
The same laugh track has been used on countless shows for many decades. You are listening to a recording of long dead people played over and over, show after show.
Josh My truck will hesitate on some cheap gas and at one Sunoco station in Ledgewood in particular that's supposed to be TT . I read about BP losing their TT certification because they didn't want to go through the rigmarole of getting the certification , but it was those rude dudes pumping gas at the BP in HTown that gave you attitude if you came in with gas cans that kept me away from there .
Now you can get ethanol free gas at any Wawa in PA for your lawn equipment , but be sure to pump the first gallon into your vehicle as those are shared hoses and you don't want any ethanol gas remaining in the hose mixed in . The Chickanic , whose small engine repair vids are exploding in popularity on the internet explains it all .

Okay I was wrong about Wawa using shared hoses as I just got 5 gallons of Ethanol Free gas at the 25th street Wawa in Easton . Not all pumps had Ethanol free look for the sign sticking out atop the pump for the blue ethanol free signage . The hoses are color coded blue for Ethanol Free so after you put your credit card in the pump once you press the blue button for EF that is the only hose gas will come out of . I attached a pic of the pump in this post .
