Warren County In the News - 2022 Edition

“One of the worst crash scenes” the Warren County prosecutor has ever seen. Alcohol is to have played a role. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and ended up on the second floor. His passenger was killed. A resident of the home was injured. The photos are incredible.

The driver is going to be spending a long time in jail that's for sure.

Your statement is a contradiction Hoss. Do you think if alcohol was illegal people would not use it?? You are using an illegal (until recently) substance yourself.

My bad i keep forgetting about all the Articles that are constently reported where somebody who smoked marijuana caused car accident killing people..I guess it is just like alcohol ..Again my bad..enjoy your liquid poison..

Any update on this story, knew the family when we lived in Washington?

On Sunday 2/6/22 at 2:30am, a drunk, speeding, reckless driver went off the road with his truck which went airborne, crashing through the house and into a 2nd floor bedroom, where the headboard was on the other side of the wall. The impact sent Kim (wife, mother, new grandmother, and a Registered Nurse) in an airlift to the local hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, Kim’s dog, also in the bed with her, did not survive the impact. Miraculously, Tim, (Kims husband, a self-employed landscape designer) was in another room at the moment of impact and was able to call for help.

I want this story to reach millions. There are so many lessons.

Please share this with any and all of your connections to spread this story around. I know the power of ripple effects, so if one person in another country I have never or will ever meet decides to get a ride home from the pub instead of driving because of seeing this, all of my efforts have been worth it. Your sharing this has the capacity to change the trajectory of people’s lives. Love each day.

25 years ago, we were told never to meet people from the Internet, or to get in the car with a stranger. Now, we do both. Uber, Lyft, or any of the countless options are available to us. Order it for yourself, order it for your friend, or stop that friend who lives “just around the block”. If you can afford a car payment, gas, and insurance to get to wherever you are drinking, you can afford an Uber ride to get home safely.

The family is consumed with the medical care at the ICU, so I obtained permission from the family to begin orchestrating a support network as they recover, rebuild, and remember.

I was given clearance by the family to share the following update, “2/10/22 (NoonEST) "Still critical but stable. Hopefully only one more surgery to go. She’s being strong but still needs prayers"

Kim & Tim Terry Recovery Efforts:

They are the most amazing, kind, honest, hard-working, giving family; now we have a chance to give to and help them. GoFundMe Donation Fundraiser: https://gofund.me/07da71b4 I understand that there are strengths and shortcomings with every donation platform. I have chosen GoFundMe as it is the most widely known. The family is eternally grateful for all of the support! With the extent of the injuries and damage, this is extremely serious and will take years to resolve.

If you would rather give physical labor, food, cash/check, Amazon gift cards, etc. (please lean into whatever strengths you have) to the family, I’m located in Bethlehem, PA and travel out as far as Bridgewater, NJ every week. I would be happy to meet you somewhere in order to relay your donation. Please send me a message for my schedule.

We also have a Facebook Group for collaborative support:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/terrysupport

I share the deepest thanks for all of your love, support, donations, offers, calls, offerings, etc.! The quantity, quality, and variety of offerings has been breathtaking. We are overwhelmed (in a good way) with the way people are stepping up to help this family. In telling this story I’ve realized that the Terry family is akin to movie characters. The husband and wife with a daughter and a son, Ford trucks in the driveway, a yellow Labrador retriever smiling from the porch of the farmhouse, he’s the local landscaper and was our t-ball coach, she was the school nurse, just incredible Americans.

Please share this / contribute if you are able / share the story / send a prayer up. Go live your life, because we never know when something outside of our control could change everything.

Although I don’t live in White Township I’d love to see this project shut down. Developers have Warren county in their sights and I do not want to see this area turn into a wasteland of warehouses for those east of here. We need to do all we can to protect this area and keep it’s wilderness/farmland intact for future generations. Urban sprawl is real and unless we fight back it will swallow us whole.

In response to the proposed warehouses in White township. Find it funny how people are so called "against" these warehouses......posting signs all over their lawns reading "Say no to the warehouses....." Etc etc etc blah blah blah......yet all I see in the area is amazon trucks and vans delivering packages left and right 7 days a week!! Good job on keeping to your guns with that.....total joke!!

+1 LO… you can’t expect Amazon to carry every product on the planet and also get it to you in a day without letting them install their enormous warehouses near by. If we collectively end our weird reliance on Amazon for everything they will stop building everywhere.

I've been boycotting Amazon for years.

Why can't they re-utilize buildings that are already here, sitting empty? Aren't there several in the ITC and over there on Bilby Road?

The White Twp. have such great opposition because they are proposed in a bad location.
-Miles from the nearest interstate
-Along the Delaware river
-Poor access, Roads can't handle massive increase in truck traffic.
-hundreds of roadside houses along 519
-Lack of infrastructure in White Twp to support them.
-Built on prime farmland
-Built on karst geology, with the potential to pollute groundwater and cause sink holes.

These plus a few other reasons are why the White warehouse project is a recipe for disaster in Warren County.

Warehouses in appropriate areas are not seeing such opposition.

Hackresident- "Thank God" for Amazon?! Just curious as a devoted Amazon shopper such as yourself.....what do you order that you praise the lord for?

So shouldn’t the blame be placed on whoever allowed it to be zoned for warehouses??

Philliesman Philliesman
Feb '22

I believe fault may, in part, be laid at the feet of local podunk, unqualified, non visionary, Mayoral appointed Planning Board members.
They have the right to, periodically, review and revise zoning maps to protect and preserve their communities well-being.
They serve at the Mayor’s pleasure.
They donate their time as volunteers.
You get what you pay for.

LO:

Amazon usually has the best and cheapest prices on any given item (and I've ordered quite a range of items). It comes in 2 days. You can return it w/o a hassle (at Kohl's). No shipping charges over $25 or $35. I don't have to leave my house like I used to before i discovered Amazon (like going to the Dept. Stores, Target, Kohl's and Walmart to comparison shop for Electronics and non-perishable food items (like drink and cosmetics and other product).

WHY would you not like Amazon?!?! Would like to hear your explanation.

Sometimes E-Bay is cheaper, but usually not.

Hackresident Hackresident

LO - how do you know the people who oppose the warehouses are the same people who receive a lot of Amazon deliveries?

Sounds like she ran away and her parents did not approve of her relationship( meaning the age difference amongst other things).. doesnt sound like she was kidnapped

Sorry Bug.
Sounds just like kidnapping and rape to me.
She was an easy mark and, at 14 years of age, it is rape.
Throw him in a cell and lose the key.

Bug3, wake up! A 14 year old is too young to understand the consequences and make an informed decision. Sex without consent is rape, period.

Get that? Rape!

BTW
Corbin—21
Victim—14?
WTF?
Sounds like an all expense paid vacation in beautiful Rahway, NJ for the next decade (at least)

Res2
I don't disagree
My point was that it wasn't sex trafficing..it was stupid crazy teenage hormones

Another article puts his age at 21.

14 years old is a CHILD. Even compared to a 21 year old. This was not “teenage hormones” it was grooming and kidnapping. He took a child across state lines with the intention of raping her. That IS sex trafficking.

Sorry Bug3, I jumped all over you unfairly.

It appears according to the law it is sex trafficking.

"Sex trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, obtaining, patronizing, or soliciting of a person for the purposes of a commercial sex act, in which the commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such an act has not attained 18 years ..."

Commercial means for profit.

This guy certainly was waaay out of line on the age of the girl..but nothing in that article said anything that would insinuate beyond them messing around. Nothing with commercial association.

So- unless there is more info / evidence- trafficking charges are just throwing the book at him so that something else sticks when he pleas.

Kidnapping is by force or fraud- and it seems after 'months of communication' in which they spoke sexually- she was not kidnapped- but went by choice.

Young naive bad choice? Sure- but still not kidnapped.

The rest of the charges apply- and yea- the guy probably deserves a stiff punishment & fine.

I know internet blurs meaning and intent in conversation- so don't think I am defending the guy...just speaking to the legalese they used in the article for the charges.

Josh, since she is below the age of consent in NJ (16) and he is more than 4 years older than she is (which was a modification to the law known as the Romeo and Juliet clause), he would definitely be charged with statutory rape. Just "messing around garners him that charge and up to 10 years in prison for doing so IF found guilty.

https://www.brickdonlaw.com/blog/2019/december/what-is-the-age-of-consent-in-new-jersey-/

You're likely right that they're "throwing the book at him" with the other charges, unless he has a history of such things, or has had communications with others about her that make the police suspect that he had other plans.

Phil D. Phil D.
March 17th

He is actually charged with Human trafficking not sex trafficking. While very close in many ways and without reading the hundreds and hundreds of pages of the law and subsequent Acts associated with the law, he violated it. I'm a big fan of capital punishment...

Human trafficking is a far larger problem throughout the world than most people realize. Much more exposure of this filth coming soon. Stay tuned.

31 & Asbury Anderson is Washington.

That intersection if you are coming from Rt. 31 to Rt. 57 is very bad. I think it's hard to distinguish exactly where to stop by that Luncheonette, and you can go out too far. They need to paint thicker, brighter lines to indicate where to stop before you go into Rt. 57!!

2 deaths in 6 days there? was it between a car and biker for both accidents?

Phillipsburg police officer charged with possession and distributing child pornography.

https://www.lehighvalleylive.com/news/2022/04/phillipsburg-cop-had-child-porn-pictures-videos-prosecutor-says.html

I always support the police but in this case if he is guilty, I hope the crew in the jail
understands who he is and what he is serving time for. I imagine it would make life "difficult" for him while serving his sentence.

Won't be much of a sentence for possession..if he was making it..would be alot worse

It appears he did send some via an app hence the charges. This is what was in the article. I guess hanging is out of the question.... If he was making it then a firing squad is my preferred choice of punishment.

"The endangering charges are second- and third-degree offenses with, pending conviction, maximum state prison sentences of 10 and five years, Pfeiffer said. The first offense alleges a person “knowingly distributes an item depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child”; the second count alleges the possession or such pornography."
