New Car Wash in old Rite Aid building.

Had car washed there today for Free! How long is this going to last? Anyone know the future costs?

I'm surprised they didn't give you information on the various packages they offer. To not solicit a customer base during the Grand Opening Free car wash celebration event seems odd. The coupon I received stated free until the 24th of May. Their price schedule is on their website. They encourage subscription plans.

Should have left that building as is until another chain store would move there. What a waste of a building that will be when it goes out of business.

What I worry about is traffic lining up out onto the road, like Dunkin Donuts on Mtn. Ave. That's a dangerous place for a car wash right at a traffic light.

This car wash is a CHAIN....similar to Speeders in Budd Lake/Mt. Olive/Rt. 46. It just opened + you have it going out of business? Jeez....

Going out of business?

Is Trader Joe’s coming?

Chain store not a car wash. Would have preferred an abandoned Rite Aid building until another chain came in and left the structure as is and opened another store there.

When this goes out of business, will be hard to put back to a regular business.

Are the vacuums free all the time? Even if you do not get the car washed?

SS2cats - I'm with you. While it might not be an ideal spot, there's a lot of that in Hackettstown. Give the place a chance! I personally think it will continue to do well.

Wait until people try to turn left in and out of the new Dunkin on Rt 57.

Empty building = no taxes for town/residents
Car wash = taxes for town/residents
I'll do car wash....
magnomustgo - why is this BUSINESS not a BUSINESS? OR a "regular" business?
Hackettstown has mix of fast food/drug stores, etc. but only 1 other car wash besides this one - don't get your reasoning?

We knew it was coming and now it's here. More traffic tie ups and accidents.. And don't forget to drive faster

The owners of the property pay property taxes even if it's just empty. Granted, an improved building is taxed more, but it's not like they wouldn't pay anything.

I'm curious. Where does all the dirty, soapy water go? I'm surprised they could put this type of business so close to the river.

If you use a drive-through or a self-serve commercial car wash bay, federal law and local environmental regulations strict require them to capture their waste. The Reclamation Tanks: The dirty water runs off the car and flows into large grates on the floor. It is piped into underground settling tanks. Filtering and Recycling: Inside these tanks, heavy sludge, sand, and road grime sink to the bottom, while oil and grease are separated at the top. Many modern car washes then run this water through advanced filtration systems (like reverse osmosis) to recycle and reuse it for the next car's initial wash. The Sanitary Sewer: Any water that cannot be reused is pumped directly into the municipal sanitary sewer system. From there, it goes straight to a local wastewater treatment plant where chemicals, heavy metals (like brake dust), and soaps are safely removed before the water is released back into nature.

It is not a business as we have a car wash already next to River Star and a new one was renovated in Budd Lake in Ledgewood. We have more than enough of them.

That intersection should not have a car wash.

Whether it stood abandoned longer the site would have been perfect for another big store to come in to that location instead of a seedy car wash that we have enough of in this area. Another blown opportunity to keep a regular retail building in town.

When this goes under good luck selling that to someone else as the building was now ruined,

Budd Lake is Mt. Olive Twp and not Hackettstown. Hackettstown had one car wash before this opened and this was absolutely needed. Great job taking an empty building and turning into an open business that was needed. These complaints are laughable.

Oh boy, let's just wish them good luck. They chose to invest in our town.

I agree with The Judge. Wish them luck. It is not easy establishing a business.

Also agree with the judge. Just wish them luck. The car wash on 57 is outdated and it's not easy to turn left either. The one in Budd Lake is still a ride to Budd Lake and it's always mobbed. Traffic there not good either. It is what it is. Just be careful!

There was a car wash where 30 Burger is now, and the one by Mamas. This new one is welcomed instead of another Pizza business, barber shop, nail salon, or taco place.
Good Luck to them.
As far as traffic, it is rare to come up to the 5 corners from any direction without a traffic jam. The traffic around the car wash is minimal
