Good Endocrinologists in the area?
I am looking for a good endocrinologist , I have used endocrine medical associates in Morristown and thir customer service sucks. It takes months for an appointment and thats if you can even get them to answer the phone. When you do get in the office staff is nasty as hell and the doctors want to spend 10 seconds with you.
PLEASE HELP
oh there was a wonderful one in Flemington but I cant recall his name! I took rt 31 down and i beleive his office was across from the Hunterdon hospital, wish i could give you a name.
Dr. Caldarella - Hunterdon Medical
FYI - I have been going to Endocrine Medical Associates for the last 6 six years and have never had an issue with either the staff or my doctor, who spends at least 20-30 minutes with me.
Dr. Siegle....Morristown. haven't been there in two years...luckily...but she's great.

Dr. Casteneda - she literally changed my life after a 2 year disaster with a Dr. in Denville - talk about a rude, horrible staff and nurse.
Have also heard Nevins is excellent.
With all that said, you have to be your own advocate. If you're not receiving the treatment you deserve and demand, you have to move on, for your own well-being. Positive experience for one person may not be the same for another and that holds true in all industry. I also see Dr. Caldarella who is an Endocrinologist in through Hunterdon Medical - but I see him in a different capacity than as an endocrinologist. He seems pleasant enough.
I have an appointment with DR Calderella . Her staff seems nice
I will see her in 2 weeks. I will update.
My wife liked Dr. Chon, but we agree, the wait time for an appointment, and in the overcrowded office space made her feel like a number.... Try Dr. Sarah Kahn in Parsippany.... she is Very happy with her thoroughness, and appointment timing...
Calderella yes! but its a guy :)
He was good with me, i saw him probably 3-4 times and the ride to flemington was actually nice.

Good luck to you! I used the Pediatric Endro in Morristown for my son and they are the same way there! He has a lot of specialist out in Morristown and they seem to be the only one's I can never get in with and that give me attitude EVERY time I call. I wonder if it's all the same people for younger and older patients.
I haven't left yet as it is very difficult to find another Pediatric Endro.

I think the biggest bitch I have with these doctors is they dont listen. I have had a thyroid problem since 2002. I was taking levoxyl for years and it stopped working. I am now on armour. I had put on weight before I switched meds. I feel like the doctors think we eat like slobs and are lazy thats why we gain weight. I do all the right things but I still have alot of hypothyroid symptoms. I just want to feel like I used to feel and lose some weight.
@Icicle I am going to flemington . I am getting lab work done before I go. Maybe I need a med change again who knows. But the doctors in Morristown were just too much for me . I need to go 2x a year not once because it changes alot especially since I am 46 and everything is wacking out .
Gen, Dr. Seigel started her own practice in Florham Pk. I also go there, and the ONLY reason that I stay with that practice is because of Dr. Kissin. She's amazing.

caryn, I guess you have your appt. made. I was going to recommend a doctor in Flemington also, but she is a female. She is located in the complex right next to Hunterdon Medical Center on Rt. 31. Just FYI, her name is Dr. Wanda Ryan and is a fantastic. My son is diabetic and was out of control for years. Finally after his wife's and my nagging he went to Dr. Ryan. She is very detail oriented and did extensive testing. He required several visits, but she got him back on track and is doing so well now.
For future reference her adress is 121 Rt. 31 Suite 300, Flemington, N.J. 908-237-2358

Just like Alison, I too have seen Dr. Casteneda for several years. I absolutely love her. She spends so much time with me and always asks many questions. She always calls me herself with my test results instead of having a staff member do it for her. I have never felt rushed. She is very thorough.
Dr. stock in morristown is great I have been seeing him for years. I would highly recommend him. He has been treating my type 1 diabetes for 37 years.
Related question, has anyone taken Synthroid for hypothyroidism? I am curious if anyone has NOT experienced hairloss? I just started it and am so frustrated by all possible side effects because i was not even experiencing any symptoms, but am prego and it is very important to control this disorder while pregnant. I would like to hear some POSITIVE experiences while on the meds if there are any. Thank you.
I take armour now and I feel better I just need an adjustment. Armour is natural thyroid hormone synthroid is synthetic.
I have taken Levoxyl or Synthroid for the last 10 or more years for Thyroid problems. Once you start taking these meds I understand you will be on them for the rest of your life but I have not experienced any side effects or certainly no hair loss.
I have no thyroid problems and am not taking any medications that cause hair loss.
So why am I losing my hair? I think I may be close to bald by Christmas. Not funny.
Weird I just searched for this last night. I was wondering the same. Anyone have a good recommendation for doctors who take thyroid concerns seriously?
I live in the Hackettstown area and am also looking for an endocrinologist in my area. They are far and between! I use Endocrine associates of Morristown/Atlantic Health and I must say I love Dr Nunez, he is awesome! But his staff is horrible. Not nice, very short with you, and horrible to get through to the doctor! ! I have hypothyroidism and really need to find something closer and better. It's a shame to have to change due to staffing issues. Can anyone assist???
