Old Chester Flea Market

Does anyone remember the Old Chester Flea Market?

I'm trying to remember all the different vendors that where there. I was young and the most I remember was crossing the street and walking up and down the dirt isles. That was always a full Sunday for our family during the summer.

I was there the day the local police fired on a Volkswagen beetle. The traffic jam that the flea market caused was terrible and the beetle ran past the officer and he started shooting.. It was really big with many vendors. The nearest now is on PA 209

Early on there were many many antique sellers. That changed over time to more every day items. Main Street Chester stores were all very busy flea market days.

I used to like to go and buy records from the record guy that was there. He used to sell live bootleg albums that you couldn't find everywhere. That led to my 50 year addiction to buying records, tapes and cd's.

My family went every Sunday! In fact, I just sold my mother's wooden dining set that they bought there from an Amish vendor. I was so sad to see it go, especially because the town of Chester flourished!! Main Street was always busy, Larison's Turkey Farm was packed, and it was a hell of a lot better than an overpriced strip mall that cannot keep stores due to rent. I'll take dusty gypsies any day!

I remember that, sometimes my parents used to vend there, a lot of it was clothes, tools, and music, 8 tracks and cassettes.
