Allen Road
Anybody know if Allen Road is scheduled to be repaved and restriped?
This road is in bad shape and considering all the traffic on it should be repaved.

Greg Agree, at least restriping and paving by the bridge. Would be a tough drive for anyone who doesn't know the road coming down the hill at night.
Local Mullet Use a different route. We have too much traffic on Rockport and people don't even stop at the stop sign on Allen Rd. I take my life in my hands trying to cross the road to get my mail, and the people coming down Rockport thinks it's a drag strip.
Patti Many people also don't pay attention to the speed limit sign for the Kastenhuber bridge, which is 20MPH, NOT 35MPH, which is the limit for the rest of Allen Road.
Phil D. If you go 20 mph... especially going from Donaldson's towards Rockport...you will nearly get run over.
Route 46
It's only 20mph on the Kastenhuber bridge. I'd be nuts to do that on the rest of Allen, just as you say, since it's 35mph from rt. 57 to the bridge.
The thing is, you can't see what's coming from the other way, due to the large hump there, and people tend to drift towards their left if they don't see anyone coming. It's not a good place to meet with a surprise coming from the other direction! That's why the limit is posted so low there.
