Roadside BBQ stand on 31 North in Glen Gardner
When I passed by there on Fathers day headed to fish on Spruce Run, I noticed it was not there. Not just closed, no longer there. I'm glad to hear it has returned.
The name of that place is called The Real Deal. The bulk of his business is catering. I believe he is only open, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. His pulled pork is outstanding. As roywhite mentioned above his business was profiled a year or two ago…The newjersey.com food critic listed his business as a second best barbecue in the state.
Went by about 11:30 am this morning (Saturday). Line of cars and people...they were bringing containers to cars - it's hard to read sign/drive BUT looks like 11 am - 5 or sold out Thursday- Friday- Saturday. Had it at a party a few years ago - EXCELLENT!!
Ah! That would make sense. I was never actually up close to determine if his rig was roadworthy or a stationary set up.
With all of the good reviews, it may deserve a ride out on the bike with a few friends to check it out.
I worked on the Toyota dealership there when they did the new buildings. Loved getting bbq there on lunch break
