Memorial Day Parade 2018
Any info on the Memorial Day Parade? Wondering what groups are involved this year or how to sign up... thanks in advance for your help!
The parade is put on by the American Legion. It Wii be on Monday. I believe it will be the 150th Anniversary.
of course it is still happening. It's the 150th Anniversary!!
Hackettstown – 150th Memorial Day Parade, 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 28: hosted by the American Legion Blue Ridge Post No. 164. Parade will start by the post office and proceed down Route 46 to Mountain Avenue, concluding with a service at Union Cemetery. The parade’s marshal is John Fazekas, a World War II Veteran and longtime Hackettstown resident.
John Fazekas who was chosen to be the Grand Marshall of this year's Memorial Day has passed away. Our Sincere Sympathy to his family and friends. He will still be honored and recognized as the Grand Marshall in this year's Memorial Day Parade and spoken of at the ceremony after at Union Cemetery.
ac176: Any veteran currently serving or retired from any branch of the military is invited to march in this parade. There are cars available there for those that can no longer march and groups to walk with if they can.. Don Hendershot who is Parade Chairman announced on WRNJ yesterday that all are welcome to march. If you plan to march with a group, please let him know as, yes, there is a definite plan for lineup..
You will need to contact Don Hendershot at the American Legion. He is in charge of the parade and sets up the lineup.
Agree btownguy.....Hackettstown always puts on a great parade for Memorial Day! A great day to remember all of those who sacrificed their lives or put their lives in danger to enable us the freedoms that we have!
Hopefully we all are thankful for the freedoms that we have........
