Atlantic Health Urgent Care Center

Atlantic Health Urgent Care Center in the Patriot Plaza on Route 46 across from Target. has anyone been there?

There is an urgent care center there? Did not know that.

I thought there was one on Mountain Ave. I didn't know there was one in Patriot's Plaza.

Saw the sign up but don't know if they are in there yet. Hackettstown Midwives are already there though, so I would imagine if not already there, the Urgent Care will be soon. This is different than the one Medical Care Associates has on Mountain Ave.

Took my friend there yesterday and it was great. They work with
Morristown Memorial. For an exam and evaluation it was $245.00. It's
alot of money.

Wife was there today, very pleasant experience - above and beyond type. Really nice and she is very happy. Didn't have to pay $245, we have insurance that they took and just had to pay the regular physician copay.

Thank GOD!! I will never have to step foot in HRMC ER again!!! Or deal wth their billing dept!!

Are they accepting all insurances? @fracture: I hear you loud and clear in regards to HRMC's Billing Dept. I have had several procedures done at the hospital during the past 10 months. I had been on a payment plan since I had not yet met my annual deductible this year for most of the surgical procedures. Ihave been paying my agreed amount monthly without missing a payment. Last week I received a call from a collection agency called NCO. HRMC turned over my accounts to them for collection. This agency is now demanding payment in full. They have been calling my house two or three times a day for the past week.

Yes. Been there! Very pleasant experience. Will avoid Hospital/ER at all costs and go here instead. Had insurance so just copay required.

I have never been more pleased w/an urgent care center before. The staff and drs are wonderful (drs are from MMH). I had bronchitis and wheezing on Sundayt and the mri/xray facility right next door was open during the urgent care hours. They took my ins. which Hackettstown and soon St. Clare's won't be. And, as someone else said, to not have to deal w/Hackettstown billing (St Clares just as bad) is a true blessing in itself. Again, my primary care dr is the best in the world but on a weekend or for something that needs immediate attn. and your dr is booked, I would not hesitate to go here again. Highly recommended!

Very ripoff! I went for bronchitis. Saw Doctor; No X-ray or other test;' got Rx.

They billed my insurance $503.00 !!!! Had my usual Dr. been available, he would have charged me $110.00.

EVV- Me too. Went right before the holidays and said it was bronchitis. No xrays. Went back the weekend after Christmas because still wasnt better. Was told it takes bronchitis a long time to go away. Again no xrays. Told to go home and rest. Yeah, ok.
Glad they were opened on the weekends and they were very nice, but think treatment was lacking.

Per Article on AOL, Atlantic Health just bought HRMC from Adventist.

First experience was great! Second time I took my daughter for a sore throat, the rapid strep test came up negative. They took a second test and sent it to the the lab. They called me 5 days later to say it came out positive. Third time I went for same with same daughter and told them what happened last year. Doctor insisted it was viral and she'd be fine in a few days...wouldn't do the lab test on her. Two days later she was at our regular pediatrician's office with Strep! $50 out the window!

Went with cold in chest, ended up with cardiogram, tried to leave but wouldn't get antibiotics if I did. Expensive chest cold. I would call the experience "convenient."

Two years ago my doctor wanted to have me go there for a colonoscopy. I called Aetna and found out it wouldn't be covered unless I went to the hospital. Check with your insurance first. It could be very expensive if you don't, and find out later your are responsible for the entire amount.

Went there last summer on a Sunday - very nice but they didn't bill as a regular doctor's visit (normal co-pay, etc.) They let me know before I went in, so it was always my choice to continue. They basically billed as like a specialist visit - I forget the exact terminology they used. But getting treated for a bad cold ended up costing like $75 - which at the time, I was happy to pay. A little less happy a month later when I felt fine and the bill came ... oh well.

Indy2-its an urgent care, walk-in. I dont think they do colonoscopies. Gastroenterologists do them and some do it in their office, not hospital. Good luck!

My son has no insurance and was sick. We took him there and they charged him what they would charge for insurance. Then he got another bill with the balance. I have been trying to clear this up for 3 months. He paid $125 and then billed him another $80. All they did was a CBC and an office visit.

bbu-
They may have changed in the last couple of years. Is this the old A&P building? That's where they were going to do it. I remember joking about them sending me to the A&P for a colonoscopy.

Its across from Target, in the lot where blockbuster use to be.

When I went in Dec, I was just charged my regular co-pay, $15. Same as I pay my primary doctor.

Indy2 - They do colonoscopies at Emmaus Surgical Center, which is also located in that strip mall. It is a separate business from Atlantic Health Urgent Care Center.

Not too long ago i went to minute clinic in Chester. They can do a variety of things. You have to check with your insurance and see how/if they cover it. Mine went well, I paid my regular co-pay and a few bucks fo rthe test.

Clinic in chester was a joke. Went in July...found a deer tick in my head (had it with me) but since the "chances were that it did not have time to bite" the practice doc would not prescribe antibiotics. The timeframe is really important for Lymes. Went to my doc first thing three days later and he started me right away. Guess she forgot to read the chapter about preventing it..was furious and they charged me $75 (my copay for docs is $35). Never again.

I had an emergency over the weekend. My spouse took me, right away, to the Morristown Urgent Care in Hackettstown. I received the best treatment. The facility was immaculate. The doctor and nurses and staff were all very friendly and very helpful. They fixed me up, I returned for a follow-up visit on Monday. The doctor said that I was improving nicely. Today they called again to make sure that I was well. My spouse and I both work in the healthcare field so I don’t usually give such high praise. I would highly recommend going there if you have need of urgent care. I would definitely go there again.

Be careful you dot get the creepy old Asian guy there that looks like he's going to croak over and die he is the worst lost incompetent doctor who doesn't care about any other medical procedure your going through told me oo bad if I have to cancel my Ivf cycle because he was going to give my husband a second antibiotic Though he was schedule to start doxycycline the next day and stated his care was more important

I had a terrible experience. Between the incompetent staff and the nightmare I had to deal with attemping to get my money back I will never go back. Funny because my brother had a great experience there about 8 months previous when he needed stitches.
However, after receiving a refund they start sending my brother bills. That was another nightmare altogether. I was lied to every step of the way by the manager, the staff and the billing department. Scumbags.

I went there recently because I felt like I had Lyme disease again. My doctor couldn't fit me in anytime in the near future. The staff and nurse were wonderful. The doctor was rude, insulting and incompetent. He made fun of me insinuated that I was a hypochondriac and diagnosed me with weakness. I had to insist on a Lyme test. Two days later the receptionist left me a message that my tired was high and a scrip was called in for 3 weeks of doxycycline(not enough) I ended up seeing a Lyme doctor. Urgent care billed my insurance over 1000 dollars and my part is 225$. I have to pay that much to leave there in tears because of an abusive doctor...never again!

I was told by the staff just the other day it will no longer be an Urgent care center come Labor day. Group Dr. office, whatever that means.

KarI - check with your insurance. I had to call mine and get bill lower as it is an urgent care place but bills through Morristown and makes it seem like I went to hospital. My urgent care through insurance is a copay.

Yes, it's a urgent care there and they have been there for a while. I never pay when I go! Maybe if you don't have insurance or they don't accept your insurance you have to pay. Their very nice and a part of Morristown Hospital!

They were not open on a Sunday. The number was transferred to some family medical care call service that knew absolutely nothing, even though that was the number online in about 5 different places. My daughter sat in the parking lot with locked doors and no one was willing to help her over the phone. Rude people wrong addresses and online information. Awful customer service on the phone for the answering service. All in all very unhappy.

They are no longer AHUCC. Might have even changed over the week end you were there. No Sunday hours, Sat I think is like to noon.

And you are right ----- it's like it never happened on the web and all the Hackettstown Urgent Care by Atlantic Health Urgent Care is still up there.

And fyi, if you do try them, call about insurance since they are bringing insurers on line over time, not all at once on day one.

Guess we should open a thread for walk-in urgent care places nearby.

They use to be open on Sunday.
Lady at front desk has a nasty attitude.

Again, "They are no longer AHUCC." It's a new business. Given the response to folks trying to comprehend that, I would give the lady some slack.

Meanwhile, can anyone recommend alternative walk-in emergency care with good hours, especially weekend?

Med Express in Ledgewood is excellent. The have Sunday hours and doctors in the office all the time.

Med Express in Ledgewood are slow. Just waited 2 hours in the waiting room. Then another 30mins for a doctor, to walk in and walk out of the room after I told her what my issue was. The nurse was more helpful!
