80 Eastbound on a Friday evening
hi, I rarely drive on 80 anymore and am looking for advice on a “good” time to head to Clifton area from Hackettstown, on a Friday evening. Thanks!
Hatcherymom It's been my experience that the heavy traffic on RT80 on a Friday evening is moving in the westerly direction towards Pennsylvania. Rush hour on RT80 seems to run from around 3pm until around 8pm.
Navy vet I would drive 46/10 routes so I could stop and pee. It's a lot of stop lights and local traffic. Route 80 is a race plain and simple. Drive local eat wherever .
Robert It's about 45 minutes to an hour drive to Clifton, probably more on a Friday night.
use the bathroom before you go and if you find you need to use a restroom again during that one hour drive I'm thinking you may need some medical attention. and I know I can drive one hour without the need to stop for food.
but anywee to answer the question. I would think that Rt 80 traffic should ease up after 7pm. once you each the Denville/Parsippany area and 287 the traffic gets heavy in either direction.
take 10/46 if you want to add 30 minutes to your drive.
CBGB Weekend traffic heading to city. Won’t be stop n go, but won’t be empty either. Maybe an extra 15 minutes or so would ease any traffic tension.
