Pooder Most every auto repair shop will conduct this service both private shops as well as the larger chains. With that said, a friend took his vehicle to Pep Boys last season as they typically run some sort of low cost special. He had success. In the next few weeks you will begin to see these specials advertised. There is also Ted at Valley Auto on Main street- honest, fair and a great guy.
The chain places usually conduct an evaluation for a small fee then a evacuation and recharge service. Sometimes that's all it my require. In other cases components may need to be replaced greatly adding to the repair cost. In my friends case I told him to go for the $99 special. If they discovered something requiring more I would then repair it for him to save the large expense as I do all of my own work including A/C system repair.
