Reviews on Bob’s Discount Funiture

Anyone on here have anything to review about this company’s furnishings? Thank you.

We stopped at Bob’s store in Connecticut to look at a couple things. We found it all to be really poor quality. I would absolutely advise you to see it in person whatever you’re looking at.

The answer is right in the name! It is very inexpensive furniture. The construction and quality of materials allows that low price point. It's essentially disposable. The trade off is very short lifespan. A friend would shop the scratch and dent area at Bob's and simply replace once a year or so!

It comes down to how you are going to use it, kids, pets etc.. I will say quality furniture is expensive. Honestly places like Berks, as well as some of the other widely known furniture chains all get much of their product from the High Point Market in NC. Much of it also comes from Canada. There are all levels of quality available there. Some OK, and many with quality like Bob's. I have been to High Point several times as a wholesale buyer. It's tough to find true heirloom quality furniture without spending a fair amount of money. Again, it comes down to one's needs. Other than upholstered furniture, I always recommend browsing estate sales in more affluent areas. There are often some great deals on high quality furnishings. If looking at upholstered items you need to have an understanding of the brand if available as well as the construction. Also, if it can easily be professionally cleaned as with certain upholstery fabrics, there are some that are not as easily cleaned. I have seen beautiful 6-7K sofas for example for under $1000 at some estate sales.

Good luck!

It's a hit or miss. I purchased a living room set, couch, dining area, and bedroom set from them. Everything was great, minus the bedroom set. The bedroom set started to fall apart, however everything else has lasted over 14 years. Granted, I don't have kids, so the traction in my house is very low. Good luck!

I recommend Flemington Department Store for decently priced quality furniture . I bought a Flexsteel(lifetime frame guarantee)recliner there six years ago after a Stratolounger broke after a few years . The price was decent(800 dollar range)and they had a fabric swatch of about 20 different covering choices to choose from . And while you're there you can shop jeans and casual wear in their clothing section .

Raymour & Flanagan outlet is by far the best place for good furniture at great prices. no frills warehouse in Fairfield.

my experience with Bobs ended when I was told I can't pickup the furniture myself. I was told the only option is pay for delivery. which is fine for some but my pickup can do the job so I walked out but did grab a few free snacks on the way out.

I also recommend Flemington Department Store, CBGB. Almost all my furniture has been purchased there. Coincidentally, Flexsteel is also the brand of sofa(s) I have.
Unless things have changed, they offer free delivery up to 100 miles.

I recommend Ashley Furniture store in Ledgewood. Furniture is moderately priced but of good quality.

I think bobs flemington raymond all increase quality and price but still hit n miss what lasts. My Ashley couch was steel frame, sucked. My Flemington piece went forever. For lifetime pieces, we have Duckloes in Portland pa if you want colonial or shaker style. You can get Stickley at great Stickley prices. I got a 72inch camelback couch, floral print, no repeats in the 72 inches. Amazing and lasted except for the /:);;);() cat.

Again, if looking for lifetime pieces. ask, and I use a company in WV started by a wwii vet who turns out showstoppers, hardwood, at reasonable prices. But expensive next to bobs. My corner cupboard and sideboard are museum quality. Been some years, but I am sure his kids are still there. .
