2025-2026 Snow Thread

Hey all, looks like our first taste of winter tomorrow. It appears the snow will start around 7-8am and change over to rain around 2pm. Of course, that’s just based on my weather sources. They all seem to use varying models and, therefore, varying forecasts.

Help, I’m frozen and I can’t get out!

Come on sun, set my blacktop free.

Hello Amazon, stop da bus.

In 30 years, never been iced in before.

I been electric wires blocked. Downed tree blocked. Blizzard 3ft slowed a lot.

But iced in? A first. Like living on the Mason Dixon again.

Snow Sunday. GFS model has us around 6-9” but the euro, Canadian and ICON have 18-22”. Where’s BryanNC when you need him???

I use nws probabilistic model, an experimental model (for like a decade) that is pretty good, but better yet, gets updated a lot. Has both snow and ice forecasts.

Seems pretty accurate., can get Warren county focus, or nearby, and updates which can be critical with shifting weather patterns. Tween that and radar, seems good.

Consigliere... if he's smart, he's on his way to Dave & Tim - Riviera Maya 2026 (or already there, LOL)

Seems like it’s trending toward the higher amounts as of now. I’ve seen more 13-19” for asts than 9”

Bryan was fantastic.
Babbit so what are you calling for?
That ice line is Inc.himg north, and if so, it will reduce our totals. I want the bullseye.
DOGE cuts on NOAA are impacting forecasting. Tornado season is going to be tragic.

As we creep closer, updates from various meteorologists are still anywhere from 9” to 18”+. One guy on YouTube who claims to be a meteorologist put out a detailed map which has us at 21.5”

Apparently, it’s very dependent on whether or not the storm turns into sleet and, if so, when that change-over occurs.

I know, I should just relax and see what happens. I can’t! I’m ready to call “DUD!” if it’s anything less than 10”

NWS got us with no ice: 12in, perhaps 14.

Still early probably until sun afternoon when it “settles” in. Cold, but no blizzard winds.

Fabulous Storm for us snow lovers! Even though the sleet line stayed below us on the radar, there was still sleet at times. Still, amazing amount of snow fell!

Looks like a possible repeat next week!

2/22-2/23: Whopper or dud? (Whopper over 12”, dud below 12”) Current forecast is 15”.

Oof. 1am and going to bed. Took a peek outside and it certainly has all the makings of a dud. Looks like about 3.5-4” so far

I just measured about 8.5". Still snowing, but not likely to meet the requirements of a "whopper". :-)
