Disturbing email from Brightspeed
I received an E mail from Brightspeed stating that in three days they're debiting my account for this months bill. I never authorized them to do so as I always have paid by check. I would think it would be illegal to just debit an account without permission. I will try to contact them tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else received the same E mail. Maybe this is some sort of scam but it looks like it came right from Brightspeed.
It is most likely a scam. I would contact their customer service department at once to resolve.
Sounds like a scam to me too. Make sure when you call them you look up the actual number for Brightspeed, not one that came in that notice you received.
Yes, I called them today and I took the number off my Brightspeed bill. As usual, they were absolutely no help. They couldn't tell me if it was from them or not. Said their automated system could have sent it out but wasn't sure. I should have just ignored it in the first place. We'll see if I get one next month. Thank you both for your suggestions.
Thanks, On the Edge. Too bad customer service couldn't give me any of that information!
