Revocable Trust
Need your opinion.. having a will drawn up by an attorney that specializes in wills… he does not feel that putting my home in my children’s name as a trust is necessary .. there is so much out that says it should be done…?? Help.
Jrn I recommend seeking the opinion of another estate attorney and discuss the trust situation in particular. In estate planning many attorneys still subscribe to the old and true methods. That may simply be what is common to them and or what they are accustomed to doing. I'm not sure this forum is the best place to garner legal advice. LOL.

And if you're not trusting the lawyer you've got, you've got the wrong one. Find someone else you are comfortable with.
GC I strongly urge you to do so. As someone whose parents did set up a revocable trust and living thru events that occurred after their death. I thank God that they did so. It keeps everyone honest in dividing up your estate. By making it revocable you also keep every one honest. Be very careful on who you choose if you do set up a P.O.A.. It has to be someone of the highest character, if you have any doubts don't do it. I speak from experience and obviously not a good one.
Hammer This may be an unpopular opinion, but I will share for what it is worth.
Set up a trust with a trust banker. Attorney's are notorious for charging exorbitant fees and if and when you need an attorney, the bank may be able to recommend one that specializes in trusts. People automatically think attorney when it comes to estate planning, but it is not necessarily the case.
