subaru 46 closing
went to subaru 46 today to see about a oil change.all the cars were gone.said the owners of the subaru 46 were gone and a new owner is taking over.having bought a car there im wondering what i should do
If it will be a Subaru dealer again I would continue to get service there. Perhaps inquire if the new owner is a larger auto group and check out reviews at their other dealerships, If is a different brand, I would consider a local shop for routine items and a Subaru dealer elsewhere for warranty work if needed,
Their website says they are now Subaru of Hackettstown. Maybe they're coming down to the old Hyundai dealer location. I realize businesses up on that part of Mt. Olive utilize the Hackettstown mailing address so who knows?
are you sure you aren't thinking of the Hundai dealership? Subaru's website says it's open for sales over labor day
What is/was their relationship with the Newton Subaru dealer? Subaru 46 would often have cars listed on their site actually be located at the Newton dealership.
Still advertising a labor day sale

The Chevy dealer - Motion - looks more "closed"....few cars on the lot + when I passed by this afternoon truck was loading more cars onto carrier.
Has anyone actually called them or stopped in? I would gather that would clear it up! LOL
The dealership used to be owned by Joe Natale and his thugs as a means to launder money from his "real estate" ventures. He owned the Audi/VW dealer in Newton and another one in Union. He sold out before getting pinched. The new owners got caught doing the same thing as Hackettstown Hyundai: https://www.nj.gov/oag/newsreleases19/Auto-Mall-46-Inc_Consent-Order.pdf
I can tell you from experience that the latest owners, World Group, are just awful people to work for. Minimal pay, poor management, almost no contribution to benefits, with poor treatment and high turnover rates. I would recommend you go elsewhere.
That's RT 46 Subaru in Little Falls in the document. Not Hackettstown.
Now something could still be up with the Hackettstown dealership as well...
In case anyone did not know we are in the middle of a car shortage due to there being supply chain issue with any product that needs a micro chip. Many dealers are down to bare bones inventory and to make matters worse Ford and GM are shutting down production for a few weeks due to the chip shortage. If you need any product with a chip in for any sort of holiday gift and see it available, buy it now.
“due to there being supply chain issue with any product that needs a micro chip. “
On the flip side, GM did decide to build some trucks without “stop-start” and DFM (dynamic fuel management i.e. cylinder deactivation) due to chip shortages.
Possibly two of the worst “features” possible (both in driving “feel” and reliability concerns) so if I was in the market for a truck I’d love to get one with those items missing.
Can't you disable stop start with a button push?
GM is stopping production in nearly all NA locations for two weeks starting Monday....chip shortage. And, chip manufacturing is being affected by COVID.
“Can't you disable stop start with a button push?”
Yes, until you turn off the vehicle and it resets every time. You can also get a plug for the OBD port that disables it permanently, and those plugs used to also work for AFM (an older cylinder deactivation method) but DFM hasn’t been “cracked” yet as it’s MUCH more complicated (the computer decides which cylinders to turn on and off for basically each rotation of the motor).
Although the DFM is electronically deactivated on some recent trucks, unfortunately the hardware (some type of complicated valve lifter, spring, or cam combination) is still present and that has caused catastrophic engine failures for some people with GM vehicles.
Subaru on Rt. 46/Mt. Olive/Hackettstown has banners that were put up this morning that say "Under new ownership". I did notice that used car "lot"/dirt lot next to building is basically empty. May have moved vehicles under ownership shift.
Mel,
On July 21, 2021, I got my 2021 Outback at Route 46 Subaru and I negotiated three free oil changes.
