Best Stereo Headset Earphones: Bose vs. Competition
Hi
Wanted to get my daughter a top- of -the -line stereo headset for her grad gift.
Can anyone recommend a good one, thanks.
Want ones that are big enough to cover entire ear like singing professionals have
and are also compatible with Samsung (Android) phones, etc.
Would prefer plug-in vs. wireless.
All suggestions welcomed.
I have Amazon Prime, so that helps.
Thanks in advance.

Sony are decent but I really like JBL products. We use a ton of it in the commercial AV world. However many young people like Beats. It's a status thing I guess.
How much do you want to spend?
Like many things- the actual good stuff is little known by the general public- and can also be shockingly expensive.
Grado SR-60 or SR-90 depending on how much you want to spend. Has the small jack for phones.
Was previously a huge Sennheiser fan which are very light weight and great products. But the range of sound from Grado is just beyond the other products in the price range.
I still have my Grado Red Set VII headphones from eons ago. They aren't over the ear, but are definitely great to listen through. Grado or Sennheiser would both be great choices. I still have both brands.
While my own opinion may not count for much, "Beats" to me, has always seemed to be mostly hype based on Dr. Dre's reputation. I never thought the specs. seemed to match the cost, but I could be wrong.
Not an earphone per se, but I've really enjoyed by Aeropex headphones. Skull conduction is a wild thing, and takes a bit of getting used to, but I can't see going away from it in favor of traditional earbuds or over-the-ear headphones after getting used to it.
I like my American Audio and it is at a great price. I've had them for about 8 years, Look great and still sound crisp and deep bass.

I've been using Anker Soundcore, and they are great for $49.99

A buddy of mine has a recording studio and uses Sennheiser headphones exclusively. The few times I've had occasion to record there, I've been blown away with the quality. If I were in the market, I'm not sure I'd even consider other brands.
The best I ever heard was Stax. Ridiculously expensive. Don't see how they can stay in business with those prices.

I have and like these. Not too expensive, but very good.

I have the Bose Wireless with noise cancelling. I'm underwhelmed. They're comfy but the first set I had got replaced under warranty as they would turn back on randomly and die.
I have Anker Soundcore Liberty Pro Earbuds with the best sound of anything I've ever heard. But some of their cheaper sets get tinty as high volume.
A friend of mine has a pair of Stax. Absolutely unreal. You close your eyes and could swear you’re surrounded by a live band. Top of the line, if that’s what you’re looking for. But I believe $6500
By the way, I mixed up my Mura Red Set VII number with the Grados. Mura doesn't seem to be making headphones anymore either, whilst Grado is. Vintage Mura headphones are relatively rare on the market.
