As a person who recently served on a BOE, the trend is not a surprise. The increases or decreases in State Aid have been known to districts for a couple of years now and are following a released schedule . Everyone had to time to plan accordingly, either they did or hoped it would go away.
Very true Mr. Herbst. I would just like to point out that everyone of the 20 towns on the list all have huge increases in undocumented (Illegal) immigrants.
I would just like to add that I was referring to the attached article listing the top 20 towns whose school aid was increased the most,of which Hackettstown was number 20 on the list.
As a large % of their enrollment at Hackettstown High comes from Great Meadows/Allamuchy, their "bump" s/b reflected in a lessoning of the
adjusted tuition costs to the two sending districts.
