Wow, a great loss. Rest in Peace CD!
A radio station in Wilmington, NC I used to listen to while working overnight shift at 7-11 (around '78 or'79) used to play "Devil Went Down To Georgia" and pair it with "Race With Devil on Spanish Highway", by Al DiMeola. They both went together really well and that got me even deeper into Jazz Fusion too, go figure.
The country music flag is flying at half mast :( He even crossed over during the "Urban Cowboy" days into the mainstream. He could swing, rock, boogie, and blues with the best of them. At least he got to live a full life, and wasn't taken younger like so many others lately.
From that era's "group" of legends, it seems we only have Willie (Nelson) and Kris (Kristofferson) left standing....
This "Long-Haired Country Boy" is now left alone. I will miss seeing him in concert again, love that fiddle.
