SB's Great Artists & performances tonight
My absolute favorites, Coldplay, Bruno and Rihanna. What a fantastic show.

SueR I didn't think Beyonce added anything to the halftime show. Coldplay was fine.Fun for those in the stadium for sure. Bruno Mars was perfect. Lady Gaga gave a great performance of the national anthem.

Calico696 I honestly think the halftime show was garbage. All the artists out there and you choose them? My opinion of course but not every one on the planet likes pop. But I guess it gets alot of 12 year old girls to watch.
YepLady Gaga did an awesome job. No overly pleased about Beyoncé's salute to Black LIves Matter. I wonder who escorted her into the stadium. It wasn't the correct venue for that kind of song. Sing them at your own concerts.
Ollie Lady Gaga did a fantastic job. LOVED Bruno Mars. Not the rest of the halftime show.
Game was boring as was the commercials.

Cold Play for the 50th Super Bowl was not an ideal choice IMO. I think maybe they should have done National Anthem and had Lady Gaga steal half time tho Bruno Mars continues to astound.
iRun It was sarcasm. I think it's bull shit. The actions of our great grand parents does not define us now. I don't care if the black white or Asian. How about a musician some one with talent. Not a skin tight leatard or a catchie dance. Cold play was the only one worth watching. And I don't like cold play
I'd rather see the Superbowl pick a high school to play a concert and donate money to there music program than waste it on an over paied celeb.

I think Cam will be great someday once he gets more experience, but ouch! So many sacks, I think it got to him by the end, he just didn't want to get hurt.
Nobody could top Katie Perry last year. Even if you're not a fan, she put on quite a show. I couldn't hear Coldplay singing very well, the rest of the instruments were so loud. Lots of rainbow colors-> SF area-> Haight-Ashbury flashback? Gay pride? Maybe just enjoying having a halftime show in daylight?
Noticed that CBS used a lot of the commercial slots to promote their own shows. I wonder if people didn't have the funds this year? Or if they planned it that way. Favorite commercials for us were the singing sheep, the Prius chase and the Super Bowl babies.
hktownie The halftime performers don't get paid anything. The NFL just picks up the tab for the production costs. I remember they wanted Katy Perry to PAY THEM, lol. The NFL assumes (and is probably correct) that the publicity they get for performing in front of a few hundred million people worldwide is payment enough.
Personally, after watching about 5 or 6 minutes of terrible football and three or four putrid commercials, I went back to my Better Call Saul binge, lol. I didn't even know who won until this morning.
ianimal The halftime show was nice..Had a hard time hearing Chris sing..Beyonce, um, wish she was not there...We like Bruno and he performed wonderfully..Lady Gaga singing the anthem, well it brought tears to my eyes...Loved the ending! And, that my daughter gave me the Broncos to win, and we did :)
grateful one of the more boring halftime shows. its not good when the headliner gets upstaged. I knew Coldplay wouldn't be able to carry the entire show by themselves. But the audio was horrible and then they became a background group to Bruno and Beyoncé.
the only part of the flashback that was interesting was who they decided to leave out of it. Plus while the Whitney Houston National Anthem was a great moment in SB history, it was not a halftime show so it seemed out of place including it with the past halftime show montage.
for a 50th SB they really should have gotten a bigger name than Coldplay.

pmnsk Not a single one of those "artists" is what true footballs fans want to see. They secure these terrible mainstream artists to appease women who begrudgingly watch. BTW I am woman so I can say this. Coldplay is awful - whiny woe is me I miss my balls. Bruno Mars - because we haven't heard that annoying song a million times. Beyoncé - anti-police lyrics. Get her off my screen. The superbowl should just go without these crappy acts. Rather listen to the commentators.
HLamusesme I didn't watch the half time show. I don't know who Coldplay are and probably haven't heard any of their songs. I at least know who Bruno Mars is and have probably heard a song or two but I can't name one right now without looking it up. Actually the same with Beyoncé , I may have heard a song , perhaps at a store playing way to loud but I can't name an actual song. Might as well throw in Rihanna , Lady GaGa , Katy Perry too.
I've been using the mute button for commercials for years. I am not amused or entertained by stupidity which is what most commercials are today.
I just pulled up a list of half time performers to see if I remember watching any. Bruce, The Who , Tom Petty , Rolling Stones , Sir Paul , U2 that's it.

Overall I thought that Bruno Mars was terrific, Coldplay ok and Beyoncé mediocre. Considering it was a milestone Super Bowl, it was all pretty boring IMO... the game, the acts and the commercials.

Roywhite Thank God the Broncos won. I can't imagine the racist diatribe we would have been subjected to if the Panthers won. I never could have imagined the Carolina Panthers would be linked to the Black Panthers during their half time show.
Fig Newton - Comes out dressed as Superman - Doesn't fall on the ball that's loose - Storms off the podium post game without answering questions .... Now that's a legacy.
I wasn't impressed with the halftime show. You think for the fiftieth it would be amazing, Boring at that.
I like lady Gaga but the best anthem was Whitney. No one will live up to that!
Christine Cam gave one of the best post game interviews I've ever seen. I saw very real honest open raw emotion , right there on full display. I heard a series of stupid questions. It is obvious how he feels and it was obvious he really didn't want to be there answering these stupid boring questions. And yet he is asked twice about his emotions. It was painfully and blatantly obvious. This young man was hurting. How about some empathy , it was obvious he wasn't ready. I thought getting up and leaving the interview was exactly the right thing to do.
Hey CBGB .... What about the Vikings kicker that sat there for an hour answering questions after he missed the 27 yard game winner ? He's wrong ? We all make mistakes .... It's what you do after them that matters.
