In order to increase your credit you need to pay your bills on time as minimum for 6 months. You can't do it overnight. You can try to consolidate all in in credit card that offers you 0% for 12 or 18 months. Also need to pay more that the minimum amount on your credit cards at least 100% more of the minimum or more. When i met my husband he had so many credit cards debts and a school loan to pay. He started to give me his whole paycheck He movde in with me and we share the bills. I used what was left of his paycheck to make large payments on his credit cards. He pay them off within 6months. But of course he could not spend on nothing i mean nothing. You definetely can do it if you tieup your budget. But i do know it is harder if you have kids but you need to sit down and write every bill your have and calcute your total of outcome and income. Including gas, food shopping. Buy what ever is on sale ONLY and whats necessary by using coupons. If it is not on sale do not buy it period. Good luck!!!

Credit repair is only if there are wrong things on your report. Get all three reports, go directly to the agencies who have to give them to you free in NJ. Then document and report the errors to each agency. If the information is correct, then there's nothing else to do. There is no hidden secret or special trick no matter what you hear from others or silly internet ads.

To turn your credit around, pay off your debts. Don't move your balances from one card to the next. If you have more than one credit card, close them as they are paid off. Major purchases have to wait. Don't make any until all the rest is paid off and you've given enough time for the score to go up.

As for loan advice, I agree with going to a bank. I'd suggest one of the smaller banks like Fulton or First Hope who have someone you can sit down with and have a long consultation. They will tell you what you can and can't afford for a loan. If there is something you can do to help you get the loan, like what other things needs to be paid off first, the banks will tell you. it also depends on what the purchase is for. Make sure it passes the Suze Orman test, (ever see her show where people call in?), things that will make you more money like for a job or existing business are approve if realistic. Motorcyles and stereos and cruises are denied.

Never close out your cc after paying off. That negatively affects your credit score. Cut them up and trash them. Suze says that all the time.
