Over Memorial day weekend i met a women who's son is a border patrol agent, through general conversation she started telling me about the daily dangerous encounters her son deals with guarding our borders every day,being the mother of an Iraq war veteran i could really relate to what she was saying..our border patrol is severely understaffed, I wish all of you could have heard her words...you would be blown away by what these agents deal with on our own soil ..these agents are in a war zone of there own..I know the fear this mother lives with every day..I pray for reform and their safety every day..

Obama has let me down in a number of areas as well. While Congress is worse, Obama is the leader and he should be able to make them work or make them leave. He has not been forthcoming and transparent on a number of issues. And we have been in hard times. But to vent your spleen with fact less ascertains without even researching the topics may make you feel better about your dilemma, but it ain't so. And while welfare cheats and illegals make easy targets for what's wrong in our lives, the fact is if we eradicated all illegals overnight, our economy would crash and you would be on welfare too. American business loses 5% of its revenues to fraud each year and no of it to illegals. Instead it's all to people like the lamenter and his thieving class. The welfare cheats are a deal next to him.

Nice try indeed. If you read the entire article, yes, you are correct that the ascertain that Obama removed more illegals than any other President is possibly incorrect pre-1996. That's a perhaps because no data is shown to prove it one way or the other. I estimate he has removed more only because for the past 18 years, he has vastly surpassed any other administration in the removal of illegals. And certainly Obama's high removal rate is true post 1996 so it is most certainly true for the past 18 years after the legal definition change.

Secondly, catch the end of the article, the correction: "CORRECTION: The original post claimed that Obama had de-emphasized removals and concentrated on returns and that the ratio of his removals to returns was skewed toward returns compared to his predecessors. That claim is not correct because based on DHS’s data, (Table 39: Aliens Removed and Returned, FY 1892-2012) his cumulative numbers since taking office show Obama has removed a total of 1,974,688 people and returned 1,609,055 others. There have been more returns than removals only in FY 2009 and 2010. Moreover, comparing across administrations is not wise given the changes in law and counting procedures." The last sentence is weasel wording their error since 1996 was the pivotal legal definition change.

Skippy, that fact that some illegals were released amazingly does not change the total number of removals. Plus, the article states: "The Center for Immigration Studies reports that ICE officials moved to deport 28 percent fewer illegal immigrants from the interior of the country in 2013 than in 2012" which is true but again does nothing to change the total. This article raises some interesting points that the Obama administration is "cherry-picking" whom it deports. For example, the article states: "ICE classifies illegal immigrants as criminal if they have been convicted of a crime, not including traffic offense, Vaughn noted." Actually, that's not true, for an illegal, I am pretty sure a traffic ticket is a criminal offense subject to removal. So this may point to where the Obama administration is prioritizing who it removes and who it lets slip by. But it is true to make this high removal rate the Obama administration is indeed cherry-picking the offenses it deports for as your article alludes to.

Still does not change the record and the total rate of removals which is the highest ever under Obama for the past 20 years and perhaps forever. Also, if you remember, before 1921, we basically let anyone in and did not really have "illegals" like we do today, by definition and by implementation.

BD not sure if that is just IT salaries. DH's field is still working on salaries last 4 years. When they lay workers off they are hiring for half the salary then they were 4 years ago. (does that make sense?) A family cannot live on what they are offering a year. My son lives in NC. Makes a decent salary and cost of living is a bit lower but not much. He was offered a job in South Jersey with a promotion BUT the salary did not match to living in NJ! Between the rents, insurance and other living expenses he would not be able to pay it all with what they were offering. Its not a wonder they can't find anyone to take the job.

Our kids cant find jobs because the employers are happy to hire an "illegal" for less pay then a American citizen will work for. Dont blame no jobs on the "illegals". Its the employers fault. Lobo You're kidding right I was in the construction business for over 30 years. And can count on one hand how many American day laborers worked more than a day or two and stayed. And I paid a decent wage to day laborers because that's how I started. And I could count on one hand how many foreign day laborers I hired ever quit. They could always be counted on to give you a good days work for a good days pay. The reason why companies like I had and other like it hire foreign laborers they're not worried about when there coffee break is when you tell them it's time to get back to work they go they don't bitch about the guy running a bulldozer making four times as much as them they do their work and cause no problems. I still have friends in the business that will only hire foreign day labelers Americans have this sense of entitlement that foreign people don't. In my experience There is no job that a foreign day labelers think is beneath them to do I have fired more than one American labor who told me that they are not going to do a particular job and to get the foreigners to do it

Regarding the Southern border, I'm under the impression that the current problem in the news is not that there is an overall increase ("overrun"?), but that the young people entering currently from Central America are turning themselves in as soon as they cross, meaning we suddenly have to put them all somewhere while they are processed in the normal way, for unaccompanied minors.

Answer -- Just about every President. And more often in recent history. And only three of Obama's about 40 recess appointments were struck down, the others stick.

Narrowly speaking you are right, he behaved unconstitutionally in making three specific appointments on a three-day Congressional break. He can still make appointments during recess, just needs a ten-day break. Plus, appointments are not only restricted to vacancies occurring during a recess, they can happen anytime. Now Congress can hold pro-forma session to thwart appointments during the 10-day recess if they so choose.

However right now this is all moot since the Senate in November invoked the nuclear option for a simple majority for appointee approval; Obama don't need the stinkin recess appointments anymore.

Yes, Obama was caught but in actuality the Presidency is the real culprit with Reagan's 240 recess appointments, Bush made 77, Clinton at 139 recess appointments, the other Bush made 171 recess appointments, and Obama, around 40. All of these Presidents violated the Constitution in some of their recess appointments.

Why did Obama do this? Look at the chart. This less-than-do-nothing Congress is stopping any progress, any change, anything in Washington. What could any President do except "roll their own?" Look at the chart. And you are complaining about Obama getting something done?

And the MSM had many stories on the topic; did you expect condemnation for this? Or Congress?

For decades, the governments of Mexico, El Salvador, & Guatemala, among others, have intentionally displaced their poor on to US tax payers and social services. Then, they reap a windfall of $Billions sent back in untaxed remittances annually. So, there is little incentive for the kleptocracies in those countries to fly straight and take care of their people. They would rather steal and let the poor flock to the US.

US Citizens have absorbed the largest immigration tsunami in world history. It is the US Citizenry that deserves amnesty from mass immigration and we should not be forced to subsidize the corruption and incompetence of foreign governments forever.

OK, I really didn't think we needed to do this again but 4&5 --- Welfare and Food Stamps.

First, no one really knows. Second, the Center for Immigration Studies is a "non-partisan" right-wing group that desires NO immigration and starts from there. Generally, their numbers are OK, but when a SWAG is called for, they lean towards their goal. And then they build on a scary stereotypical illegal alien image to scare us using some blatantly obvious data tricks.

Basically what they say when you get rid of the garbage is: For 2009, 57% of immigrant households (legal and illegal) with children (under 18) used at least one welfare program, compared to 39% for native. You see the first red flag on legal and illegal parenthetical meaning the data has less relevance as a beacon into illegal status. There's a mix here and they don't even quantify the mix in the summary so "warning, warning Will Robinson." So to use this data to tell us that illegal aliens are welfare robbing us blind is misleading at minimum. The rest of the their story builds on this shaky foundation adding bad mortar in each course of their "data" bricks.

Then CIS estimates that 52% of legal immigrant households with children used at least one welfare program in 2009, 71% for illegal immigrant households with children. OK, first, it's an estimate so here comes the SWAG. Second it's build on top of the legal/illegal mix where you don't even know the sample size of illegals. And then they add that illegal immigrants generally receive benefits on behalf of their U.S.-born children which, I think, according to our laws is legal. So there is no fraud. But there's lots of numbers and it does sound scary.

Then they take the SWAG estimate and further extract that illegal immigrant households with children primarily use food assistance and Medicaid, making almost no use of cash or housing assistance. Hopefully the reader will remember that they are using this for US-born children which, I think, according to our laws is legal..

And then to toss you a quasi-racist bone they add "High welfare use by immigrant-headed households with children is partly explained by the low education level of many immigrants." Well, no duh. First remember it's a SWAG, second it's for US-born children, third ---- most white people on welfare have a low education level too dufus. Probably have more cavities than you and me too.

And building on that stereotype they add: "An unwillingness to work is not the reason immigrant welfare use is high. The vast majority (95 percent) of immigrant households with children had at least one worker in 2009. But their low education levels mean that more than half of these working immigrant households with children still accessed the welfare system during 2009." As does 50% of every fast food worker in America, white, black, native, and legal immigrant. And again, this is for their US-born children.

So what have we learned. That immigrants, an unknown quantity being illegal, use welfare but only for their US-born children. And people on welfare typically are less educated.

Well, that was illuminating.

So, a 5-year deportation program could cost in the neighborhood of $285 billion - or about $922 for every legal man, woman, and child in the U.S. Remember, you have to find them and that's way harder and costly than you think it is. Then there are legal proceeding. Finally you have the cost to transport them back to their origin.

Now, if you'd care to list the savings after they are gone then we can see how much of that expense will be offset.

“There is no excuse for denying a federal representative from Oklahoma access to a federal facility in Oklahoma where unaccompanied children are being held,” Bridenstine said in the press release. “Any Member of Congress should have the legal authority to visit a federal youth detention facility without waiting three weeks.”

So then maybe Lobo the solution is simple. In the last century we had Ellis Island because most of the immigrants were coming from Europe and Western Asia. They were processed, had medical checks and were documented before stepping foot on American soil. Maybe opening an West coast Ellis island is a solution since now the majority of immigrants are coming from Mexico and Central America. Have 1 centralized location for them to go to get processed and documented. Make it easier to become a legal imigrant and we will have far less illegal immigrants. Have a place to get background checks, medical checks. Have them issued temp visas and enforce the expiration dates of those visas.

Lobo, First how do the police know they have no papers? Unless they are involved in illegal actions they cannot ask. They can ask for an ID or a driver license. Second standing around on Main St. is not illegal. UNLESS a business owner does not want them there and asks the police to remove them it is not illegal.

Also the reason why some cannot become legal citizens because ALOT of them have been taken by so called lawyers, volunteers and government have taken their money and ran. I have 3 friends that have lost thousands to try to become a legal citizen. 2 from Chili and one from Colombia.

The Obama administration has adopted a policy of deporting only violent criminals. It has also enacted a program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, which provides amnesty to people who arrived to the U.S. as children.

Coburn also supported the reversal of a 2008 anti-sex trafficking law that requires Customs and Border Protection to hand unaccompanied children from countries that do not border the U.S. to the Department of Health and Human Services, which houses them and seeks to place them with sponsors while they await deportation proceedings.

“What we have to do is change the 2008 law, and say, if you’re not contiguous with us, we’re going to treat you just like you were contiguous with us,” Coburn told CNN.

“We can change that in two weeks in the Senate and the House. Just reverse that law, retroactively.”

Asked if he opposes Obama’s $3.7 billion funding proposal — which was nearly double the administration’s initial $2 billion request — Coburn said he does.

Yankee is right, while a Republican sponsored law, it did have bipartisan (remember that from your childhood?) support and the current influx is an unintended consequence of parents in noncontiguous countries being told (by profit taking traffickers) that the kids can get in. Obama is just following the law Bush signed when he detains these kids. The law was intended to keep kids safe.

Perhaps before we think about ourselves, we should think about this poor current batch of kids. Parents are spending thousands to get them here away from their current lives; probably everything they have. The kids are alone, taking huge risks, just to get away from their current environment. How bad does it suck where they are for parents to take this risk? It is a horrific tale but we need to move fast to turn them away quickly and safely, and spread the news that our doors are not open so don't come and take this risk, lose their lives savings, only to be returned at some point.

We need to send these kids home, but let's have a heart, take care of them, and move quickly to resolve the situation with as much compassion as we can. They are kids and we are ultimately sending them back to hell.

DACA does not apply here since it covers only up to 2007 illegal immigration by kids who have spent a decade here, are educated, and have no criminal record, but certainly could be advertised by traffickers to lure more kids here (as LV Mom continuously makes the same error). IF DACA was illegal, then Boehner can just add it to the lawsuit, but he hasn't has he.

I say again to LV Mom: do you really want to deport these kids who have passed High School here and have been here for at least a decade? Only the most heinous of crimes don't have a statute of limitations, the longest limitation is ten years; the average is probably less than half that. Again LV Mom, is this how you want to spend our money in deporting these kids?

I think Coburn has one thing right; the current situation could be fixed in a week if Congress desires to and can remember how to pass any legislation. So far Congress has passed 14 bills this year. Of those, 6 are disaster relief/debt coverage/vet cola, 4 are Smithsonian management/commemoratives, 3 are extensions, and nothing is of consequence or new. I would say Congress can't chew gum and walk at the same time, but frankly, they can't do either to begin with.

So let's cut to the chase.

If you look at the things Obama has done, has spearheaded, you will see, especially early on in his Presidency, how he has made numerous concessions to the right. Don't believe me? Then why is the far left so upset with him? Crikey, he extended the Bush tax cuts. That's as bad as G. Bush Sr. raising taxes.

If you look at Congress, since 1973, each session passes an average of 597 laws. Since Obama, Congress has passed 324 laws per session. Since the Tea Party, that average dropped to 226. That estimate includes a steady state for the last half of this year, a conservative estimate since legislation normally drops off at end of session. So, since the Tea Party, the amount of legislation has dropped about 66% off the average. Congress has stopped functioning since the Tea Party got there, quantitatively. But there have been over 50 attempts to appeal the ACA if you call that working.

You can blame Obama, but these boys won't do anything productive, much less work with the other side on anything.

Eric Cantor took a moderate stance on the immigration supporting a process for undocumented immigrant kids to gain legality. Outspending his opponent, in a year the Tea Party has lost, he lost.

What chance is there of Republicans doing anything to pass immigration reform?

Three of the world's richest men are calling on Congress to pass legislation that would overhaul the nation's immigration system and provide some sort of path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

Casino magnate and conservative donor Sheldon Adelson joined Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett and former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates to criticize House Republicans, in particular, for failing to address current policy, which they said "borders on insanity."

"Whatever the precise provisions of a law, it’s time for the House to draft and pass a bill that reflects both our country’s humanity and its self-interest," they wrote in a New York Times op-ed published Thursday night.

The likelihood of any immigration reform bill moving through the House is currently slim to none given opposition from conservative members and Speaker John Boehner's (R-Ohio) unwillingness to bring it to the floor without the support of a majority of his caucus. Despite those obstacles, the three men, who are worth a combined $184.3 billion according to Bloomberg, urged Republicans to listen to reason.

"A Congress that does nothing about these problems is extending an irrational policy by default; that is, if lawmakers don’t act to change it, it stays the way it is, irrational," they added. "The current stalemate -- in which greater pride is attached to thwarting the opposition than to advancing the nation’s interests -- is depressing to most Americans and virtually all of its business managers. The impasse certainly depresses the three of us.

"Signs of a more productive attitude in Washington -- which passage of a well-designed immigration bill would provide -- might well lift spirits and thereby stimulate the economy. It’s time for 535 of America’s citizens to remember what they owe to the 318 million who employ them."

A “talented graduate” reform was included in a bill that the Senate approved last year by a 68-to-32 vote. It would remove the worldwide cap on the number of visas that could be awarded to legal immigrants who had earned a graduate degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics from an accredited institution of higher education in the United States, provided they had an offer of employment. The bill also included a sensible plan that would have allowed illegal residents to obtain citizenship, though only after they had earned the right to do so.

Americans are a forgiving and generous people, and who among us is not happy that their forebears — whatever their motivation or means of entry — made it to our soil?

For the future, the United States should take all steps to ensure that every prospective immigrant follows all rules and that people breaking these rules, including any facilitators, are severely punished. No one wants a replay of the present mess.


We also believe that America’s self-interest should be reflected in our immigration policy. For example, the EB-5 “immigrant investor program,” created by Congress in 1990, was intended to allow a limited number of foreigners with financial resources or unique abilities to move to our country, bringing with them substantial and enduring purchasing power. Reports of fraud have surfaced with this program, and we believe it should be reformed to prevent abuse but also expanded to become more effective. People willing to invest in America and create jobs deserve the opportunity to do so.

Their citizenship could be provisional — dependent, for example, on their making investments of a certain size in new businesses or homes. Expanded investments of that kind would help us jolt the demand side of our economy. These immigrants would impose minimal social costs on the United States, compared with the resources they would contribute. New citizens like these would make hefty deposits in our economy, not withdrawals.

Today its more a survival. It is now the rich and the poor. No middle class. The leaders are mostly rich and they take care of them selves and there business friends.
When the crash hit we found out how the business's were playing with smoke and mirrors an nobody went to jail. The politicians said every one deserved a house when they didn't but the Government made them give loans. When things hit the fan, who did they bail out, the business and banks. Investors that took a chance and were bailed out through Company's being bailed out but the middle class got nothing. They lost are gone now and so is hope.
It's not the kids causing problems. It's the culture we have now of survival, Government dependency, depression that helps lead to drugs that the kids are being used for today. IMHO

When are they being sent home. Busloads and plameloads are being dropped off in various states only to be told to show up at a hearing at a later date. To date less than 20% have showed up to their hearing. This dates back to last October and over 50,000 have entered since. Also, none of the States were notified that these children were being dropped off. There is also a current backlog of over 400,000 undocumented people awaiting hearings and god only knows how many of them will show up. This is a crisis that needs mmediate attention but Congress is heading off to their summer vacation.

The “breakdown” a systemic failure of the handoff of these children between CBP and HHS.

Two unaccompanied children were flown from Nogales to California despite having 101-degree fevers and flu-like symptoms, according to the Department of Defense memo. Those children had to be hospitalized.
The memo said pointedly that officials in charge of moving the immigrants from Border Patrol processing centers to Health and Human Services facilities are “putting sick [fevers and coughing] unaccompanied children on airplanes inbound for [Naval Base Ventura County] in addition to the chicken pox and coxsackie virus cases.”
The document said three other kids were in the ICU at local hospitals in California, and two of them were diagnosed with strep pneumonia.
Less than a week later, that same Ventura Naval Base suffered an outbreak of pneumonia and influenza among the unaccompanied minors inside the shelter.

During a town hall meeting this week, Republican Gov. Chris Christie said he had not received any notice from federal officials about children being placed in the state.
“At this point, we’ve had no federal notification that any of these children or adults have been sent to New Jersey. But we’re going to continue to monitor that every day,” he said Tuesday.
He also complained about how little control governors were being given over whether children would be sent to federal facilities or charitable organizations, which are not under state control.

kb2755, we are far too along the socialism path to really do anything about it. We have no choice but to see it to it's conclusion. Only when the consequences of our past economic folly's hit home will you see people wanting to hear what you have to say. Remember, today the public *expects* redistributive policies to give them things that politicians have told them they deserve. Immigrants, like US citizens, know a good thing when they see it. Realistically, the immigration patterns of today are exactly what we should be expecting to see based on our national benefits programs. The story of Robin Hood, I'm sure, is understood internationally. It's not factually correct given the current 99%/1% divide, but it is a nice story.

Social Security is NOT a stupid thing. SS is NOT a gov't funded charity; it is a "mandated pension fund" that workers pay into during their work lives to retrieve safety net benefits from in retirement. It is only a safety net, not meant to take that much nor give that much, just a safety net. If you want to risk your safety net ----- make some more money and risk that. Prudent financial people don't risk their safety net. Even the highest financial flyer, if smart, packs a parachute. If we take SS away, we will have millions of tragedies. Splat. Where will you be then?

Saying programs like SS make us socialists is as silly as saying the US is socialist. Or that buying life insurance is socialism, or any fund that you pay into to get future returns. I changed two words in your definition. I trust my boss, more than I trust a politician. If I think my boss is not doing right, I can quit. If I don't think the politician is doing right, I am stuck with him. Capitalism is basic definition of Freedom.
You look at everything in this screw up country as it is today's climate. I look at things from what my parents and grand parents world was like. My father was intervened in a book . Life in the Forty's. He worked for a Company that belonged to the Rockefeller's. He speak's of all the things the Rockefeller's did for there employees. Then what happened in the late fifty s when the MBA's came on the scene and the worship of money became the norm. I even had a great job at that time. We built canning machinery. I was the greats machines ever made from the bottom up. Then the Government came in and and said we could not do business like were because it was not right. We put a machine in your plant. We maintained them and you only paid for the cans that were produced. The Government said we had to sell them on the market. It was not practical price wise possible to complete on the market. The MBA's decided, why do we need all this mess and sold all the plants and equipment off, took the money and started Prime America Insurance Co.
Now you have the rich and the poor are left for you to take in and control.

Illegals demand representation in White House meetings


Illegal immigrants plan to picket the White House Monday afternoon, calling on fellow immigrant-rights advocacy groups to refuse to meet with the Obama administration until President Obama specifically includes illegal immigrants in any future meetings.

“We are among the millions of people who will either benefit or be harmed by the decisions the President makes, and we are here to represent ourselves in any future negotiations,” said Rosi Carrasco, one of organizers, in a statement announcing the action.
Billing themselves “undocumented immigrant leaders,” the organizers said they will erect a picket line to symbolize their demand.
The groups are fighting to keep momentum in the immigration debate, which has seemingly turned against them in recent weeks as Mr. Obama tries to deal with the surge of illegal immigrant children and families across the border.

The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.

Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:

1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.

Pretty funny since the lament is from someone who embraces socialism in some form but just wants to get rid of programs that don't help "his kind." We've covered why American conservatives are socialist before so we'll just go after the current round of mis-spin-statements. It is really not a progressive opinion, it's just correcting the obvious factual errors.

Define subsidized: as of July 2014, according to Statistics Brain, 21% are on unemployment, food stamps and welfare combined. Where do the other 29% come from? 50% of 40-hours fast food workers are on food stamps though since the minimum wage keeps them close to the poverty level.

And yet the richer are richer than ever before in history. Currently the upper class owns more American assets than ever before in American history while paying the lowest tax rate since the 1950's. So who is really running the government?

Really? This seems like just some misguided opinion, so prove it.

OK, this one is so factually wrong on so many levels. First, these are two different types of accounts. Welfare/food stamps are programs funded by each year's income taxes covered in each year's budget voted upon by Congress. Income taxes are where you give your money away, maybe receive some benefits, maybe not. SS is outside the budget and is not funded by yearly income taxes, and is instead an insurance annuity account where you invest money, it gets invested in turn while your account builds, and then you get an annuity of your investment plus interest at maturity. SS is where you invest your money to get it, and maybe some more, back --- it's insurance and works......like insurance. Also, many welfare and food stamp workers not only "worked for their money," but many are working full time AS they get these benefits since both full time and poverty can happen at the same time in America.

Really? What veteran benefits did we cut? And what does cutting the size of the army have to do with it? The military have gotten pay raises every year since 1976 tied to the economy. From WIKI "U.S. Code dictates a rather complex equation for military pay raises, based on the Employment Cost Index... businesses. Military pay increases by "the percentage by which the ECI for the base quarter of the year before the preceding year exceeds the ECI for the base quarter of the second year before the preceding calendar year (if at all)." Specifically, the code states, that’s the ECI for wages and salaries of private industry workers.

Essentially, when the ECI goes up, so does military pay, so that military salaries don’t fall behind civilian ones. For example, because the ECI increased 1.4 percent in 2009, that’s the proposed military pay raise in 2010. The raise is unusually low — the smallest percent change since the series began in 1975, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The President is empowered to suggest a lower or higher pay raise, which must be ratified by Congress, in extenuating circumstances like an economic crisis. Congress can also vote to change the president's proposed decrease or increase. For the 2011 budget, the House Armed Services Committee suggested boosting the 1.4 percent raise. But defense personnel officials resisted, saying they would rather that money be used for other programs that benefit military families. After an 11-year string of increases that slightly exceeded average private sector annual raises, Army Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel Lt. Gen. Thomas Bostick said that, "We actually think we have a surplus in terms of pay."

I actually agree that the Republican law covering kids from non-contiguous countries illegally crossing our borders, passed with bipartisan support, should be modified to help with the current situation. If how we cover Mexico is good enough, then why not handle these other countries the same way. The Republican house should do more about it than to just whine how it's Obama's fault and then whine when he takes Executive Action and then whine some more when he proposes fixes that cost money. Can't have it ten ways to Sunday.

Meanwhile, speaking of reading..... I think when you, BDog, post opinions from nut jobs it does not help either your argument nor your credibility. Clearly, this guy is a bit off. Your 22.5M for education of the 1,500 kids dropped off in the dead of night without calling either Chris Christie or BDog is pretty close but only as a July of this year, plus it's probably factored at one-year's enrollment so high for this year but low for total spending. However, it does not factor in the sponsor's offsetting tax payments who is a legal tax paying person or family in America usually a parent or legal guardian.

And what about all those foreign exchange students we keep freebieing. There's over 30,000 in the US and over 300 of those scofflaws in NJ each year. That's over $4.5M in education funds we are giving away and we've been doing this for over 50 years. And they keep dropping them off in the dead of night without telling me. Given that's the same national total as illegal kids but the NJ total is much lower, what does that tell you? That foreign kids who can choose states, don't choose NJ :>) No wonder they're dropping off those illegals in the dead of night :>)

As far as the "dead of night" dumping, so pass a law. This has been going on for over a decade and it hasn't bothered you till now so lighten up. I am sure the Republicans will come back from their five-week leave and think of something more to do about it than just blame Obama for their law.

Point is that this is a clusterflux of the first order because of a law written with the best intents but a loop hole creating the current situation. It takes action, a new law, to correct that flaw. So tell your representative to get off their vacation and fix it ---- NOW.

Separate from that is the issue of current illegals in America and while DACA is one alternative, lawmakers need to again get off their proverbials, quit pandering for the midterms, and pass some laws to fix it. NOW.

And PS --- how about helping out the VA while your at it or its that just political fodder to feast on too?

At least two of these three --- the current kid crisis and the VA, should have been fixed before vacation, I don't see the polarizing party platforms here, and the only political gain should be the fallout price of pain from not fixing it NOW Immigration reform might be weightier, might take longer, but both parties have plenty of bills; they should be able to put something together. Immigration reform has been close to a vote a number of times, just get the Tea Party out of the way this time.

Referring to the influx of unaccompanied children crossing the border from Mexico and other Central American countries — over 52,000 since last October — Will told host Chris Wallace that the United States should welcome these children with open arms.

“We ought to say to these children, ‘Welcome to America, you’re going to go to school and get a job and become Americans,’” Will implored. “We have 3,141 counties in this country. That would be 20 per county. The idea that we can’t assimilate these eight-year-old criminals with their teddy bears is preposterous.”

Wallace warned that detractors will accuse Will of not understanding the issue, but he was undeterred. “We can handle this problem, is what I’m saying,” he reassured. “We’ve handled what Emma Lazarus famously called ‘the wretched refuse of your teeming shores’ a long time ago and a lot more people than this.”

First, the lawsuit is about Obama's executive action over the ACA, different issue from the border crisis; however it's linked only in the Republicans hypocritical demand that he exercise executive action over the border crisis like Boehner sues him for one thing and then asks him to do the same thing to cover his ineptitude at making legislation in his own party.

Second BDog's third paragraph, the gist of his rant, just does not even make sense. Not sure what he is trying to conclude since it's noncontiguous countries (that would exclude Mexico and Canada) and the kids are not being let in, but instead being transferred to parents and guardians AWAITING their immigration deportation or acceptance hearing. That is the law so the rest of BDog's ascertains are balderdash. By the way, this also takes the kids off the federal books for food and housing so you would think the Dogman would be happy. But noooooo.

And yet the dogmeister calls Obama lawless for simply following the law. A law, need I say it a tenth time, written, sponsored, and voted in by Republicans. Yawn dogperson, yawn.

There are two easy alternatives to fix. The heartless one to turn them all away (why we do this with Mexican/Canadian kid refugees one might question). Or the compassionate one to expedite the asylum hearings to accept those in danger and return those who are not ASAP including contiguous countries.

As far as a false crisis, who knows what the dogster is smoking; 60,000 kids this year when the 10-year average is 6,000 per year don't sound "engineered" to me. That dog just don't hunt.

Obama’s 5 Top Flip-Flops on Immigration

(Breitbart) – On Wednesday, President Obama threatened to veto the House of Representatives’ proposed border bill. Obama particularly disliked provisions of the bill designed to amend the 2008 law that allows illegal immigrant minors from non-border countries to stick around for years awaiting deportation proceedings.

His statement explained:

By setting arbitrary timelines for the processing of cases, this bill could create backlogs that could ultimately shift resources away from priority public safety goals, like deporting known criminals. This bill will undercut due process for vulnerable children which could result in their removal to life threatening situations in foreign countries.


In other words, Obama wants to keep newly arriving illegal immigrant children – not the ones who have already arrived, and are not covered by the House bill – stuck in legal limbo for two or more years.

Just weeks ago, Obama himself called for changes to the 2008 law. He sent a letter to Congress asking for authority to “exercise discretion in processing the return and removal of unaccompanied minor children from non-contiguous countries like Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest explained, “There are some challenges that are posed by the current law, this 2008 law.”

Now, however, Obama has flip-flopped on the issue – the better to polarize the debate around illegal immigration.

This isn’t the first time that Obama has flip-flopped on immigration. Here are four other instances of such wavering:

Border Security. Just a month ago, Obama proposed additional border security for the Rio Grande valley – and he wanted billions to fund it, supposedly. But in May 2011, Obama spoke in El Paso, stating, “You know, they said we needed to triple the Border Patrol. Or now they’re going to say we need to quadruple the Border Patrol. Or they’ll want a higher fence. Maybe they’ll need a moat. Maybe they want alligators in the moat. They’ll never be satisfied. And I understand that. That’s politics. But the truth is the measures we’ve put in place are getting results.”

Executive Orders. In March 2011, Obama stated, “With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case, because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed — and I know that everybody here at Bell is studying hard so you know that we’ve got three branches of government. Congress passes the law. The executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws. And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws.”

As Politico noted, when Obama was confronted in November 2013 by a protester yelling that Obama had “power to stop deportation,” Obama said, “Actually I don’t.” Obama went on, “If, in fact, I could solve all these problems without passing laws in Congress, then I would do so. But we’re also a nation of laws. That’s part of our tradition. And so the easy way out is to try to yell and pretend like I can do something by violating our laws.”

Today, of course, Obama has declared an endless stream of executive actions designed to loosen consequences for illegal immigration.

E-Verify. As the Washington Post has pointed out, in March 2004, Obama wrote on a questionnaire that he opposed the government “crack[ing] down on businesses that hire illegal immigrants.” In 2008, he said, “we do have to crack down on those employers that are taking advantage of the situation.” Now, of course, Obama just wants to hand out work permits like candy.

Deportation. Just last Friday, President Obama said that illegal immigrant minors would be sent home. “We have to deter a continuing influx of children putting themselves at great risk,” he said. That same day, the Los Angeles Times reported, “Roughly 5 million of the estimated 11 million people who entered the country without legal authorization or overstayed their visas could be protected under a leading option the White House is considering.”

President Obama’s failure to take a strong stand on illegal immigration is mere trolling at this point. He wants to tell his constituents that Republicans are out of their minds for worrying about the border, while simultaneously incentivizing millions to cross that border. He wants to suggest that he’s interested in solving the problem even as he exacerbates it. He’s hoping that the chaos he creates will somehow precipitate a handover of even more power to him. Instead, it’s just angering Americans, as well it should.
