Putting faces to posters

Everytime I read certain posts , I have a mental picture of what that person looks like .it might be fun to describe how we see each other.I don't post often so it a little harder to guess what I look like...anyone interested in trying to put a face on a poster.?

neccy neccy
Mar '14

All the time. Most controversial posters do not come to functions ie, breakfasts, dinners, bar meetups.

Christine Christine
Mar '14

It might be fun to do..neccy...but almost guaranteed the poster you try to describe in your "minds eye" will most likely not be at all the way we think they would be if you should meet in person. Personally, I have had my picture posted several times on the Forum as I really do not mind people knowing how I actually look. I can understand, however, why some posters would not really want us to know who they are or how they look and especially the ones that we might have had verbal confrontations with over various threads or topics on HL. I have met some wonderful people from this site in person and a lot have become good friends over the years. This is a cute thread and although I do not care to participate...it might be fun to hear how other posters depict us to be or what we look like...

Hysterical, JR! And you're a nice looking young man. :-)

I actually don't tend to imagine what people look like physically. It's more about the contents of people's posts... I get a feeling for who a person is... like their energy, positive or negative. Basically it's the same thing when I meet someone, after just a few minutes of talking to them, I no longer see their outside shell. If someone has good energy, I perceive them as lovely and beautiful, no matter what they look like, what they're wearing, how old they are, male or female. It doesn't matter. I *truly* just perceive their energy. Weird, I know... I think I'm like a dog... lol.

Apr '14

Christine, again, you are twisting things so that you can make a point, yes the picture said cry baby tissues, but I never even mentioned ANYWHERE that it was for MG.

And Darwin, for once worry about yourself and I will worry about me. The photo posted was disrespectful on a personal level, it did not happen to you, so you can not speak for it, nor can you vouch for how I should feel about it. I apologize for dragging this on, but things like that do not set well with me, especially when the offender can't say sorry like a adult, they have to add insult with "into that sort of thing" or "I apologize for the offense. (But if you are really feeling unappreciated, you have a huge box of virtual tissues to wipe those virtual tears away :>)" that is not a sorry any respectful adult I know would post.

True colors have been shown and I am moving on, knowing why nobody ever posts pictures of themselves, as all it takes is one person with a personal vendetta to make a fun thread go south.

Darrin Darrin
Apr '14

Darrin, just pointing out that you did mention a name. If "Personal offence" is something that you do not accept", why give it to someone else?

A lot of threads have taken a turn for the worse in record time lately.

A long cold winter maybe?

Wifey cut you off?

Oh my, that just made me laugh out loud, mg, and frankly, that doesn't happen too often with your comments ;o)

A long cold winter maybe? I love winter

Wifey cut you off? never, I cut her off!!!

Hubby watching to much sports? I hate sports

" Enjoy life now it has an expiration date ain't that the truth!

I LOVE SURVEYS!

and Ian....just so you have a answer.....actually I absolutely hate zombies, they are hideous creatures that are a mockery of dead people, I personally do not agree with how much fame they have been granted, and it is a disgrace to have that posted on what I know to be my body.

personal thing I guess.

Darrin I also thought you were going overboard a bit, but to each his own! I guess we all have that one thing that strikes a nerve:)
I will say that when you were called out on some of your own postings, you handled it very well!! I can't stand when people will continue to argue even when it has been pointed out that they messed up! I have yet to meet anyone that is perfect!

Darrin - I agree about zombies. That's why we have extra zombie ammo in stock here. :-)

The fact that Darrin might be zombaphobic aside, one man's honey is another man's poison which is why I apologized immediately. It's not up to me why someone is offended, it's in their domain. Now the fact that I added my rationale for it combined with a little funny --- sorry about that too.

Reminds me of that night high in the West Virginia mountains drinking moonshine with the boys, perhaps some illegal partaking was going on as well, as Loudon Wainwright III hit the outdoor stage and sang these words:

"Call me Mr Guilty, Mr Guilty that's my name
Without a doubt it's all my fault, I'm the one to blame
You say that you're unhappy I do believe it's true
Cause I'm the one, the no good bum
That did it all to you.

I'm so sorry, sorry as a man can be
I'm so guilty, this is my apology
You have been a victim, a pawn in my cruel game
I done you wrong, and I strung you along
And now I'm full of shame
To compensate for damage done
Well there's not much I can do
So I sit and drink and I sit and think
Of all I done to you
You're a martyr, taking all this time
I'm a villan, guilty of a dreadful crime, so cry, cry, cry me a river
All your tears and logic, you know they
Finally made me see
I deserve the shame, I deserve the blame
The guilt belongs to me.
Yes you're innocent
You're as pure as driven snow
You've been had, I'm a cad, at least at last I know"

Lol, that mg post actually made me laugh, mainly because I am trying to figure out christine's post, but it makes no sense, almost like she is living in her own little world. Again, nothing has even ben mentioned for over 12 hours, what the hell are you talking about, were you hoping I would drag it longer? Did you pre-determine your posts. ...what is your deal......drama drama drama as always

Back to the topic at hand, why hasent mg posted a photo? This seems like a long time issue, I am somewhat new to the forum, but everyone else has seemed to have a past with asking him.

Maybe he is worried I will photo shop him into a Republican comittee meeting? Or perhaps shaking governor christie's hand wearing a "christie 2016" shirt?

You are very pretty, Nosila and you have a "great family" as well....Thanks for sharing...

Here you go Joyful. :)

Its too funny that people are posting pics of themselves and thats not what the OP was asking for. And then arguing over SS! SMH!

Thank you, SueR for posting the picture of The Duke and I....Now everyone can see I am not a little old white haired lady after all. I am "old" however!!!

Apr '14

Nosila is WAY prettier than that, joyful. ;-) And yes, Nosila, people probably think of us as constantly surrounded by animals... which is kind of true, of course!

As for misterg and others not posting photos of themselves - not everyone wants to do this and that's perfectly understandable. After all, this is a very public forum, and most people like to maintain a modicum of anonymity.

WHAT?

There is so much wrong with your posts its not even worth mentioning or trying to explain it to you. I am moving on and I suggest you do to. But knowing you well I think everyone has your number now.

Christine, what are you talking about.....and why are you STILL dragging it on, for the drama I presume. I moved on a long time ago.

you don't know me......not one bit

instead of a venting thread can there be a "fued thread" where Darrin and Christine can go? instead of them highjacking every thread :)

Very nice picture of you and your husband, Mom of One.
Just a interesting observation from my husband and I in that we have lived in Hackettstown almost our entire life (now senior citizens).. and there are only a few of the people who posted their actual picture that we know of or have ever met. Those being: Christine, Skippy, and Stan. Also..., "White Shoes" (GC's cat)!.

I am all for the feud thread idea! I think whenever a thread takes a personal turn for the worse the people involves should have to move the converstaion to the feud thread. GREAT IDEA!

Darrin Darrin
Apr '14

Is there a winners and losers thread once you are defeated in the feud thread? Does everyone else get to vote on who wins?

No way is mistergoogle that cool.

I think it was CR37 who once wondered if he was in Shoprite and looked around if he wasn't seeing a bunch of HL people just didn't know it.

Well now you're in Shoprite and look over at the deli counter and you've got the name to go with the face...

Darrin, were you driving that sweet ride yesterday WB on Rt. 80 around 1PM? If not, someone has the same car.

MeisterNJ MeisterNJ
Apr '14

No, I was not, guess I better check my garage!!!!

I have seen many similar but none the same, pictures don't really show it, but it is a orange metallic covered in a candy apple red type color, looks like a sparkly maroon color in the dark and metallic red in the sun. And I am pretty much running straight pipes, so you would hear it.

Darrin Darrin
Apr '14

Ah. I just saw the red with black stripes and thought it might have been you. I took my classic out yesterday, made it around the block and headed home. It's running rough for some reason.

MeisterNJ MeisterNJ
Apr '14

I don't have stripes on mine, it's suppose to, but I like it being different.

what do you have?

Darrin Darrin
Apr '14

Oh yeah, thought it had the stripes. Maybe it was the shadows.

I have a '70 Mercedes 280sl- 4sp. And a '73 MB 280 sedan which was my mom's car when I was a tike.

MeisterNJ MeisterNJ
Apr '14

I just put qq's on my 1989 MB 420sel. I have been looking for a 560 to do a motor swap

I also have a 1987 Jeep YJ with qq's

Darrin Darrin
Apr '14

Very nice. I don't have qq's on either of mine. I like to drive them whenever I like. We should start a car thread.

MeisterNJ MeisterNJ
Apr '14

The state's qq fine print is limiting to basically exhibition use, but as long as you are not daily driving them to work, nobody bothers you, plus then you do not have to go through inspection, also registration is free and lasts 3 years. I consider taking the car out for a nice sundry drive exhibition.
