Mona I also hate Casey. All he does is yell at and interupt people who try to give their point of view. Isn't that the point of a call in show?!? I don't mind Rossi though.
Type B Ah! Dominski & Doye must have been on before I began listening. I've never heard them (are they "Jersey guys" as well?) When I started listening to 101.5, I think it was Rossi and that other guy (can't think of his name).

I listen to the Jersey Guys on my way home usually. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes I have to turn it off. I feel like lately they only talk about the same thing over and over again. Teachers' unions. It's rather tiresome to listen to the same old arguments.
I hadn't heard anything about them being replaced. I thought they had a pretty popular following.
Tracy best station in NJ, they tell it right and true,
NJN (the NJ TV station) is being sold off mostly beacuse of them being in the tank for the NJEA who was a chief sponsor of their NEWS division,
if they had been more balanced in their news coverage they probaly would not be shutting down right now.

maryb I'm not a huge fan of Judi, but I think she and Dennis have a wonderful on air chemistry. Their show was always entertaining during their first run together. Since they picked up together this time around it seems to me they haven't missed a beat. Michele Pilenza was put in a tough spot replacing Judi and did a good job, but it always appeared to me Dennis had to work hard through each segment to make it entertaining and keep the flow going.
I never cared for either Carton & Rossi or Casey & Rossi.
I loved D & D when they were on 1015 in the 90's. It will be interesting to see if being in Detroit for the past several years has changed them.

Firefly I will have to give a listen, I also liked D & D, was sorry to see them leave the station. Will have to see if they've changed after all these years (hopefully not for the worse). This is why I love this forum, I would have never known this otherwise, could not listen to Casey and Rossi, even if just trying to catch the traffic.
Bessie Dose anybody know why Casey n Rossi are being replaced? Casey tries way too hard to sound like Howard Stern..he even uses the same inflection when he talks..even that same self deprecating humor that Howard does..so why are they being replaced? i heard 2 different guys on the air yesterday afternoon and they sounded less that exciteing..are they the new replacements?
Ginger Ginger, those two goons are the guys that usually cover for the Jersey Guys while they're on vacation. I can't listen to them.
There's a Facebook page devoted to bringing back the Jersey Guys. The speculation is that the anti-NJEA rhetoric may have had something to do with it. Too much pressure for the network.
If it's true that the NJEA did not like the truth being told then it's another reason that the organizations existence is irrelevant. All the milllions that the NJEA spends on attempting to protect themselves and throw daggers at others is money that should be spent elsewhere. All the NJEA is, is a group of souls making way to much money for themselves. Commonsense does not exist in their vocabulary. Unions had their place 80 years ago but not anymore. The media, the internet and other forms of communication can get the word out. We don't need noise from the NJEA anymore. Many teachers I talk to don't even want to be part of the union. They are forced into it. Forced to pay dues. They say that life in the classroom would be less stressful if the NJEA would go away - as they all to often have to keep their mouths shut - afraid they will cross a line and get punnished by the NJEA.

cbel Firefly - After Brooke & Roberta left 1015, they split up. Can't remember which one, but one went to New Mexico or Arizona and the other left radio to pursue something else. Sorry I can't remember the details. That was many years ago and my old brain cells are dying off quickly!
NJEA - New Jersey Education Association (The State wide Teachers Union) was the the single largest supporter of the New Jersey Nightly News broadcast, and guess what? the so called 'independent' news organization was totally in the tank for the teachers union. so they had a really 'unbalanced' approach to news coverage, anything that NJEA wanted on the air they got a feature story about it.
This has a lot to do with the sale of the New Jersey Public TV station(NJN) to WNET this week. If they wanted their jobs they should have been more fair to the republicans. Life is hard.
we still have 101.5 fm radio to pick up the slack and give a better balance in news coverage, so that's a good thing.
Dominski & Doyle are coming back! Yeah!!! I thought they moved to Detroit to do a radio show-so happy they are coming back to Jersey!

The image of NJ is certainly tarnished if they are representative the "Garden State". What happened to Michele Pilenza? She was fair, professional and never insulting.

101.5 is doing NJ a great service.
I just went to their website to see what news they had about the state budget. Yesterday, the democratically controlled legislature passed a millionaires tax to supply extra school aid to districts that are not abbott. Guess what? Hackettstown, Great Meadows, Allamuchy, and Mansfield are not on the list. Only Phillipsburg, Alpha and Pohatcong will receive any money.
Indy2 Bessie - It was on the way to a morning meeting with a client. It was Jim Gearhart at first who seemed like it took him 30 seconds to be able to think of anything at all to say. Couldn't even let that on while waiting for the traffic report. Tried later and Dennis & Judi were only right before arriving at the client. They seemed to be having fun talking to each other, but it didn't seem like they even knew there was an audience. It felt like a private phone conversation you tapped into. Didn't seem like that needed wading through either.
This station needs someone who stands out. Casey was obnoxious but he grew on you. I can't stand Judi. Why is she back. She makes women seem stupid with her dumb and very conservative comments. She prefers a male President because woman can't handle the job.
Please go away and bring Michelle or anyone else to to take her place. Did you see her picture? Scary. Accident or bad genetics?
