Hackettstown Starts Downtown Farmer's Market

Always striving to bring new activity and events to Hackettstown, the Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID) office is launching its inaugural Downtown Farmer's Market on June 1st. Partial funding is being made available through a grant from the Highlands Council and the Warren County Regional Chamber of Commerce. The hours of the market will be 10am to 2pm and will operate every Monday from June 1st through November 2nd and will be located in the municipal parking lot on Main Street and Moore, behind Stella G's Restaurant.

David Rucki, Executive Director of the BID states "we appreciate each and every one of our participating vendors standing behind this effort to bring a farmer's market to Hackettstown". Rucki feels confident that as word spreads, area residents will appreciate the availability of fresh produce on Mondays.

Products that will be available are a full variety of fruits and vegetables, fruits, USDA meats, fresh eggs, herbs, cut flowers, bedding plants, fresh baked pies, fair trade items such as organic coffees, rice products, dried soups and salsa, and plenty of baked goods. The BID is looking into having some of the vendors certified to accept WIC & Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks.

The BID would like to thank Donaldson Farms, Harper's Bagel & Bake Shop, LL Pittenger Farm, What In The World, Sicilia Italian Bakery, Godlewsky Farms and Mini Mac Farm for participating in this inaugural market.
