Warren County looking to hold conference for municipalities to discuss shared services

State aid cuts and rising costs have Warren County municipal leaders discussing potential savings through shared services.

"I've entertained several calls the past couple of weeks from various municipalities (on that subject)," Freeholder Director Richard Gardner said Wednesday.

Gardner said a roundtable meeting of mayors and county freeholders on the subject is being discussed for March.

"We need to take action into our own hands," said Washington Township Mayor Samir Elbassiouny, who earlier this month said he wanted to organize a meeting of mayors.
