Local NJ Guard Iraq-bound

More than 100 local Guardsmen are going to Iraq as part of the New Jersey National Guard's largest deployment since World War II.

Statewide, 2,850 Guardsmen will leave next week to spend two months training in Texas before serving 10 months in Iraq. They include 89 Warren County residents and 32 from Hunterdon County.

The entire 90-member Hackettstown Armory is shipping out, Capt. Joseph McNamara said.
