Garrett to announce $894,348 grant for Centenary College to start training program.

Centenary College will be starting a law enforcement crisis-training program with the help of an $894,348 federal grant.

U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett, R-Warren, will be at the college Monday afternoon to announce the U.S. Department of Justice grant. The grant will pay for Centenary to develop incident response and crisis-management training for local law enforcement agencies and first responders.

The idea came out of a conversation between Centenary social sciences department Chairman Joseph Linskey and Hackettstown police Chief Leonard Kunz, college President Kenneth Hoyt said.
