Water births gaining popularity at Hackettstown Hospital

The two newest delivery rooms at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center are reminiscent of honeymoon suites. There's a double bed, a table and chairs, and in one corner, a large whirlpool tub.

While warm-water-filled tubs have long been used to ease labor pains, the Hackettstown tubs are also regularly used during labor. The hospital starting offering water births in 2000 and has seen a significant increase over the eight years.
