College provost resigns

Bryon Grigsby says he's leaving Centenary for Va. job over disagreement with college's leaders.

Centenary College Provost Bryon Grigsby said he is taking a new job because of a difference of opinion with the college's leadership.

The college's second-in-command and chief operating officer is leaving to take a position at Shenandoah University in Virginia.

On June 30, he'll become Shenandoah's vice president for academic affairs.

"For where the leadership is going, it's best for me to move on," Grigsby said.

Debra Albanese, Centenary's vice president for strategic advancement, said the college won't comment on why Grigsby is leaving. President Kenneth Hoyt did not return a call for comment.
