Hackettstown Teacher Wins Grant for Wellness in the Classroom

Mars, Incorporated is saluting teachers across the country who are making strides in the fight against childhood obesity. Local Hackettstown, New Jersey P.E. teacher, Patricia Kevil, was selected as a recipient of the Mars, Incorporated "I Wish I Could" teacher grant, which awards a $500 grant to 20 teachers across the country that inspire students to lead more healthful lives.

Patricia plans to introduce multicultural folk dances into her Physical Education class. This will not only provide physical activity, but expose her students to many other cultures from around the world.

Inspired by a small Chicago elementary school that has made health and wellness a top priority in the classroom, Mars, Incorporated created the "I Wish I Could" grant program to help teachers facilitate healthier habits for students in their classrooms while inspiring educators nationwide.
