Christmas/Holiday outdoor activities/markets

Hi all!

Does anyone know of any outdoor Christmas markets or activities this year? I know Easton is holding a Christmas market. Anything else fun this year?!

I know Bethlehem and Mifflinburg Pa. are having their legendary long time Christkindlmarkts this year.

Christmas Village in Philadelphia is also on as well. The Lake Mohawk Sparta market is gone but will return next year at Sussex County Fairgrounds I understand.

The Columbus Circle Market in NYC has been tanked until next year.

The Red Mill Inn in Clinton will have an Art and Craft Show, etc. the 3 days after Thanksgiving.

Does anybody know if Warren Tech is having its wonderful arts/craft show this year? It is such a busy large attendance event that it would have to be outside; not inside. If so when? Thank you.

It does not seem to list a particular event but perhaps contact them via their Facebook page for some info.

It looks like the Christmas Drive Thru Light Show and Winter Festival is continuing this year at Skylands Stadium in Augusta. The website says to buy tickets online only.

Long Valley is having a "holiday light fight" for the first time this year. They would like to make it a new tradition. If a lot of homes participate, it may be worth taking a drive around.

Oldwick is planning an event for December 12th. Sounds like fun. Hopefully it happens.

Saw this on the HLF calendar:
Holiday Lights Festival on the Campus of Hackettstown Medical Center
This free community event has been reinvented in 2020 - drive-thru only - safe for all. Visitors will follow a designated route on the HMC campus to see twinkling holiday lights, hear festive music and wave to Santa - all from the comfort and safety of their vehicles. Every car will receive a goody bag, while supplies last. Pre-purchase strands of lights in memory/in honor of a loved one or family; sponsorships available. Visit atlantichealth.org/HolidayLights for more info.

Skylands is always OK; not sure $20 unless your car is full, but then again ----- better than saving it in the bank! Just can't top it off with a Diner trip this year, so sad.

Couple more here, mostly dups: https://mommypoppins.com/new-jersey-kids/christmashanukkah/best-christmas-light-displays-new-jersey

I have heard several people complain that the Skylands drive-through is expensive for what it is. But everyone has different priorities, and if that $20 can bring someone much-needed holiday JOY, then it's worth beyond $20. I've never been, I'd like to- especially in this COVID ERA when so many things have been taken away from us.

Still cheaper than taking the family to the movies, or to a minor league baseball game. A drive through the lights with a stop at the diner after seems like an enjoyable Christmas evening to me.... might have to go this year.

It's Yetter's Diner, a block past the intersection there, pretty much the real deal, homey, and most years it makes the $20 well worth it. Unfortunately, not this year, at least for me, for eat-in. Because, if you care, you avoid swapping air!

Have been known to go before or after the fair which I think is somewhat perverse, but sometimes homestyle better than carney style and just as elusive to score.

I do agree on the price being expensive at Skylands for what it is but they have outdoor activities that are inexpensive and some are free. I think they are supposed to still have some of those activities like the petting zoo this year, but I am not sure how that will work this year! They are doing socially distanced family pics with Santa.....again not sure how that will be. In the past the pics of Santa weren't bad and they would email them to you so you could make extra prints, put them on personalized items, etc. This year, I guess we will see!

This looks to be a nice way to take a drive and enjoy all sorts of holiday fun.

Anyone happen to know who was in the Olaf costume?

I sure would like to know youngen, as the person was extremely rude and out of line with their comment. Probably some teenager who thought that they were just being funny, when they weren't at all.

Re: Christmas/Holiday outdoor activities/markets

Oldwick's Holly Days is on December 12th from 10 AM to 2 PM. There's a market at Country Fresh Farms in Asbury on December 5th and 6th. I will be at both of these events with Blankets Extraordinaire (fb.me/blanketsextraordinaire). Hope to see everyone there.

This sounds nice also...if you want more of a religious activity. A live Nativity at different churches in Hunterdon County.
