Dog boarding

My wife and I are wanting to go away for the weekend in a few weeks.

We have to put Bailey somewhere and naturally want her to be safe and treated well.

So from a quick look on google results for highly rated gave us these-

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

Thanks!

We use a private pet sitter, not a kennel, so I don't have first hand knowledge of kennels. However, several friends use and are happy with Janry Pet Resort.

1+ for Janry. Always show up unannounced to any boarding kennel (during regular business hours) for a tour.

Happy Tails Inn is great Tim and staff take great care of animals. We met him about 11 years ago and have always taken our dogs there for doggy daycare. Great people......

Four paws is nice! We liked them a lot!

I've used Happy Tails for doggy daycare and boarding for 13 years. I board my dog and cat at Happy Tails. Both are well taken care of and like their stay, even the cat enjoys her vacation at Happy Tails. Tim and staff are careful when putting dogs together for playtime - temperament, size, age. They give my dog her medicine and trim the cats nails. You will need to have your dog up to date with shots and I think they require bordetella vaccine, my dog gets it every year. Visit Happy Tails, check out the kennel and talk to Tim.

Plus she’s in Hackettstown

If you are looking to not spend a ridiculous amount of money for bells and whistles for nanny cams and such, I would go to Aladdin Kennels. They have been in business for over 40 years and the kennel is on property of their home. They are the cheapest kennel around and the animals are well taken care of. My animals always get excited when it is time to go to the kennel. The people who own the kennel are amazing and do not rip people off. Also the cleanest kennel I have set eyes on. I have visited many kennels before choosing Aladdin and they do not compare to them. They are located in Hunterdon County by the Spruce Run on Van Syckels Road.

I'm torn. I skated in my youth- and that dog is awesome to watch. Made me smile.

I also hit many a crack or rock and the board stopped while I jumped into a run.

Poor puppy has nothing to protect his feet from ripping open if he has to jump off.

He does seem to be enjoying himself though. Thanks!!

That dog also used to do this type of boarding as well - much less chance of ripping a paw:

For the actual totally on topic post...I always used Animal Inn Pet Hotel at the top of Kingtown Mountain between Netcong and Ledgewood on Rt 46W. They were a part of what was Golub Animal Hospital. It changed hands a couple of years ago, but still had most of the same staff. They had great rates, would feed your dog their own food or what you supplied, and would trim their nails , etc. upon request as well.
