Seems like we be dragging our heels throughout Warren County on this one. Lots of 6pm's or later. Might be in Ocean where the outages are higher.

So sick of it. Power was out three times in 3 days during this time period. It's gotten so we run around plugging in anything that can be recharged if we see clouds developing. The real problem is falling trees. So many are looking like they will fall, and they do. What's up with the township not doing something with dangerous trees and limbs?

perhaps a call to the Public Utilities Commission with a complaint? Might help...

Call
1. jcpl
2. puc
3. state legislators

When you lose power:
1. know your jcpl website and how to use it: alternate tween outage page and county-wide page to find out your chances. Reading the pages is an art. For example, no one else out, you got a good chance. 500-2000 out with everyone else piddley numbers, you got a good chance. 1-20 out and outages everywhere East of you --- you're scrod. But you can see status on web page like a. oh damn, b. dispatching c. assessing d. on-site, e. needs help, etc. etc. So, for example, if everyone's status is oh damn (no one dispatched, problem not assessed) in the area, it's going to be a long one. If they say 4 hours, but there's 500-2000 out, and the folks have been dispatched, you probably will come up faster than 4. You can also toggle from the map to county-wide outages to see how bad Warren is versus Hunterdon, Sussex, etc. Gives an idea how thin they are spread and, over time, how much support you are getting, or not. FYI -- generally you are first to go out and last to come up ---- it's your role in life up there :>(
2 when out, call jcpl every 30 minutes, even if it's a recording making you feel bad about calling again, try to see if you can get updates or a human
3. if you do get a human, don't faint :>)
4. invest in a generator --- think climate change, it ain't gonna get better, it's gonna get worse.

Also, it's not just the trees for you. You have one way in, no backhaul or other alternatives. A single weak link. No amount of tree cutting will change that. And that's a long haul to get JCPL to fix --- that's where your legislators can help. Just not enough people up there. Find the rich ones and get them to yell...…..
