Driver faces 11 citations in crash. 11 citations????
We were always trained, if no one hurt, if you been drinking.......walk away Merrill, walk away.....
Good news (beyond God’s grace of nobody hurt) is that Ford is re-introducing the Ranger! Can be good as new!
Considering that he staged a repeat of his April 2018 utility-pole-destruction stunt, I can see why they might want to throw the book at him.
Oh geez! What a tool. I had no idea it was his second crash. This guy needs to have his license revoked for good before he kills someone.
I agree Calico. While my example is from a galaxy long, long ago before the invention of MADD, one time, no harm, no foul, was kind of funny. Two times would be rehab time IMO.
Get this guy some serious help and rehabilitation.
I don't know what the 2nd offense is, but it should be you loose your license for good...I didnt see that they said he was drunk in the most recent article but chances are he was, considering he fled the scene........and if that is the case, Calico you are right he needs to be off the roads for sure, AND mandatory rehab. It may not get him to the point he quits drinking for good, but it sure will help plant the seed if it's not already planted..........
I wondered how this happened - and now I know: http://wrnjradio.com/news/2019/woman-rescued-from-car-after-plunging-into-icy-pond-now-faces-dwi-charge-photos/
“Warren County Hazmat responded to clean up an oil spill in the pond, Goez said.”
I’m sure WC Hazmat did the best job they could but something tells me it’s virtually impossible to capture oil that was spilling from the car for anything over 30 seconds.
"Wow day drinking! Before noon to boot- she's a pro."
Must be a friend of maja's. ;-)
I had to laugh when the witness said "an ELDERLY" lady went out of control by him....and she's ONLY 53! Im 54 and never thought I was ELDERLY! lol
Although this is a bit later, statistically a rather large number of A.M. commuters are STILL legally intoxicated from the previous nights “festivities”.
OK as I shake my can in the air like old people do
take away drivers license from him so we have to pay for him to live
put him in rehab that we have to pay for fun stuff
53 is elderly, OMG I must be The Walking Dead..... That's gonna make me want to drink a lot and see America.....
Now that one can have a computer, phone, stereo, electric toothbrush and an imax theatre, in their vehicles, driving is so much safer now, huh? Half those commuters, out there, are in the middle of Rt 80...in the middle of a conference call. That’s “managing your time efficiently”. (G-d help us). At least most ashtrays are gone. Now lit cigs just burn down the woods.
A drunk driver caused a 3 car crash in Washington last Friday. 6:21 pm.....must have hit happy hour hard.
The P'burg train wreck will continue. Not enough signatures were obtained in the second attempt to force a mayoral recall election.
More heroin transported on Route 80.
Snow tax coming next.....
Someone has to pay for all that wasted brine and DOT overtime. ;-)

I think there needs to be serious consideration regarding re-testing of senior drivers.
A list of priests accused of sexual abuse. Some served in Warren and Hunterdon Counties.
I think they need to retest ALL drivers every 10 years or so
I hear ya on the re-test but what a bummer for the elders. My MIL drove until her 90's and for the last couple years was not the best driver out there. But rather than destroy her freedom, we crossed our fingers, lit a candle, and prayed no one would be hurt, just gambling on the odds. A few fender benders later, she had a romp with someone's back lawn, no harm, no foul, but it was time.
She fell ill a short time later and it didn't matter.
I am not sure how we would have dealt with her realization that we took her keys away from her.
We took the keys from my Mom 1 year before she passed and that was a very bad year. Wish we could have seen the future and just skipped it in that she wouldn't have been driving that much longer anyways. Only casualty was a mailbox and our feelings during the year she lashed out because we took her keys. Perhaps it was a good release, who knows.
So I hear ya on the retesting but man, stripping folks of their car is a huge move which affects the entire family.
Calico - Thanks for posting this link - naming the pedophile priests from PA, Hunterdon and warren.
Calico, I see drivers of differing ages run stop signs all the time, not to mention many on their phones. So stop singling our older drivers. Remember, if you’re lucky you’ll be one yourself at some point.
Did anyone see the post about the lost dog, Chief, in Hackettstown. I can’t seem to find it. Hopefully he’s home! Thanks.
BC - Fair point, maybe all drivers should be tested periodically.....
htwon newbie - You're welcome.

From Warren County's Facebook page. Great job by our Freeholders.
FREEHOLDERS INTRODUCE BUDGET REDUCING COUNTY PURPOSE TAX
The Warren County Board of Chosen Freeholders introduced a $91 million budget for 2019 that reduces the County Purpose Tax by more than a half million dollars.
For the first time since 2013 the County Purpose Tax is less than $70 million, and the freeholders said the overall spending plan is the lowest it has been since 2004.
The freeholders will hold a public hearing and vote on adopting the budget on March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Freeholder Meeting Room of the Wayne Dumont, Jr. Administration Building. The proposed budget is available for public review on the Warren County government website at www.co.warren.nj.us/budget.html.
“I’m very happy with our budget process this year. Everything went extremely well,” said Freeholder Director Jason J. Sarnoski, adding he was pleased to be introducing a budget that reduces the tax levy.
Freeholder Richard D. Gardner credited county Chief Financial Officer Daniel Olshefski and his team, as well as the County’s department heads, for holding the line on spending.
“I am very proud of the work done by this Freeholder Board and our County professionals,” Freeholder James R. Kern III said. “Over the past few months we have come together to deliver a budget that cuts spending and taxes for our residents.”
Warren County is utilizing less money to run county government than it did 15 years ago. Moreover, through continued “Pay As You Go” budgeting practices, the County will reduce its total debt to around $2.2 million by the end of 2019.
Debt service requirements will decrease $562,300 – a 34 percent reduction – in 2019 due to reduction in Open Space Bonds. The freeholder board places a high priority on reducing the County’s debt to minimize the financial burden on future generations.
Despite the low debt position of the County, the freeholders noted that Warren continues to maintain a healthy capital spending program that prioritizes important projects and maintains facilities and infrastructure at the high level the public expects.
The freeholders plan to increase the County’s Capital Projects Budget by $1.3 million this year, adding 2.5 miles to the annual road resurfacing projects for a total of 16.5 miles scheduled for work this year. The increase will help to catch up with maintenance deferred in prior years due to budget constraints and a sluggish economy.
The County also is putting aside money for proposed renovations to the Warren County Library’s Catherine Dickson Hofman Branch in Blairstown, as well as plans for new Division of Roads facility in the southern part of the County. The proposed budget also provides additional capital support to the Warren County Community College for HVAC upgrades at the main campus.
The County Library Tax will remain flat for the third year in a row despite the fact that the county opened a brand new, state of the art, 9,000-square-foot Southwest Branch just last year. This will result in a reduced Library tax rate due to a small increase in the Net County Valuation.
The County Open Space Tax also will be reduced by one-half cent this year. This will trim the amount of taxes collected by more than $0.5 million, but will not impact the County Open Space, Farmland Preservation, and Municipal and Charitable Conservancy Trust Fund programs paid for through this tax due to the reduction in open space debt payments of approximately the same amount.
This tax reduction is so un Jersey like.
Perhaps the local school boards, state representatives and moron Governor should take lessons.

Train wreck car accident disaster on Rt. 31 in Washington this morning.
Because you cannot make a turn at all when an emergency vehicle is approaching with lights and sirens on. If you are stopped for a turn, you stay put. If moving, you get right. Never, ever go left. Emergency vehicles will always pass on the left.
Not to be stupid but.......so it was a legal turn EXCEPT for the speeding, flashing light, siren thingee zipping around on the left......
If it was just a car, no flashing lights et al, would the turn have been illegal?
That’s a tough one depending on the cop’s rate of speed, was her turn signal on, how many cars were backed up behind her.....
Had a friend who passed on the left as the passed car turned left. He was speeding a bit but the worst part was all he had on was a pair of skimpy gym shorts. That’s it. No shirt. No shoes. Commando. Dad’s rental car. He got the book thrown at him and not a pocket to put it jn ;-)
I'm wondering how she the got damage to her passenger side too, if she was making a left in front of the officer.
There are double yellow lines here, generally means no crossing although law can be fuzzy if you're turning into a driveway, definitely means no passing however. So, was the young woman making the left with her signal on ? perhaps then not an illegal turn and if so, why didn't the trooper see the signal and still try to pass on the left which was illegal. Was there another car or cars behind the girl? then the trooper passing on the left was really dangerous and dumb. Also, why was this guy speeding with lights and siren to a "wellness" check, whatever that means in White Twsp.
Tracy - I drove by the scene last night and this morning. There was a tree hit as well. I'm thinking that's what her passenger side hit. It would be consistent with the photo posted in the article.
"then the trooper passing on the left was really dangerous and dumb."
They will always pass on the left. It's illegal to pass on the right.
It is not always illegal to pass on the right. If there were two lanes going in the same direction (which I believe is the case, in that spot), then it's legal to pass on the right, in NJ.
In addition, the laws regarding the operation of emergency vehicles--and yielding to them--is not very clearly defined. The driver of the emergency vehicle is required to drive safely and without disregard for other drivers, even when the lights and siren are on. For example, if the trooper saw that the other vehicle was stopped and turning left--whether legally or illegally--then the trooper should have slowed way down and passed the vehicle very carefully. It's much like when a pedestrian crosses a road outside of a crosswalk--the vehicle may have the legal right of way, but it doesn't mean the vehicle operator can just run over the civilian, if it can be avoided.
I'm not saying who was right or wrong, in this incident--I don't have all the facts. But just because the civilian vehicle was breaking the law does not mean that the trooper didn't, as well.
Try: "A driver may be guilty of improper passing in one of several ways. First, if the driver passes a vehicle proceeding in the opposite direction on the left rather than the right, the driver commits the violation. If the driver passes a vehicle proceeding in the same direction on the right, the driver is also guilty of improper passing, unless the other vehicle is about to make a left turn or there are at least two lanes of traffic proceeding in that direction. A driver may not drive to the left of the center of the highway to pass a vehicle move in the same direction unless the left side is clearly visible and is free of oncoming traffic far enough ahead to permit safe passing. Finally, a driver must not cross a “No Passing” solid line on the highway unless directed to do so by a traffic or police officer."
Think I need to turn myself in...…...

This is why you don't put apartment houses in rural areas. Attracts the wrong type of people: really stupid.
What? Not in my backyard eh? It's a townhouse community anyway. Not an apartment complex.
Except for the stupid part. What was this guy's problemS. Emphasis on the plural. Got to be some learning disabilities, mental health issues given this guy's choices on this one.
Now how are the gunnies gunna protect us from his next armed mental breakdown? You know it's coming.....you can see it in the papers, read it in the tea leaves.
What kind of people do apartments attract? I lived in one for 8 years and I guess I never encountered the "wrong" kind. What a stupid comment SD.
I lived in apartments while in my 20's- 40's..............What's the deal............
(Cue Movie Promoter Voice)
From Director M. Night Strangerdanger comes a new tale of unimaginable terror. A horror so scary, you'll want to contact your real estate agent immediately. You cannot run. You cannot hide. Because he lives. Right. Next. Door.
"The Rural Apartment Dweller."
Coming this fall, to a theater near you. . . .
Nowadays a lot of people who live in apartments don't even pay for them.
They are section 8. (We working class people never heard of section 8.)
We paid, they get apts. for free.
Lots of people who do not work/ or work off the books.
Not like it was years ago.
So not safe.
How do you know that, Keri? Certainly not from facts......... "The Section 8 program allows private landlords to rent apartments and homes at fair market rates to qualified low income tenants, with a rental subsidy administered by Home Forward. “Section 8” is a common name for the Housing Choice Voucher Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development."
There are no free rides - wondering where your statistics come from showing what percentage of apartments are rented to those you disparage..............
Stranger was hoping one of our gun carrying posters to say they would of stopped it. He forgot, or is hoping for?, Someone to mention many apartment dwellers ate minorities?
"Someone to mention many apartment dwellers ate minorities?" Tasty comment :>)
OMgoodness what a ridiculous series of responses to a flip comment..... We aren't even rural anymore......
Focus on the real issue that this guy is with obvious mental health issues and he will be back with us all to soon. And with all the fu fa ra over guns n mental health, what's to stop him from being better armed on his next foray into felony?

"Psychotic neighbor endlessly harasses two of his neighbors with loud noise and physical aggression."
"As their friendship develops, Adrian suppresses his suspicions that renter Jack may be the government mercenary turned serial killer who has been terrorizing the city. The other eccentric residents of the apartment building begin to worry as Adrian shows increasing signs that his mother's insanity may be hereditary. The shocking climax of this twisted tale of deceit, perversion and murder reveals the darker side of the human psyche."
Apartment dwellers: you better hope that they just eat minorities.
Independence lowlife charged with sexually assaulting a child. We need capital punishment in these types of cases in my opinion.
I agree this is just sick and the witness that did nothing to stop it should be charged also.
WTH. They're an engaged couple. I looked on FB. Sickos. The system should never, ever give the children including a baby, it looks like to the couple. The mom is just as guilty. Jail for life. No excuse from judges that will have some sort of sympathy. Poor little thing. God only knows. Someone wrote about him being in jail before, so real nice having around your little one and having another baby with. Jail. Period.
An Oxford Township firefighter died Saturday night after a crash involving his motorcycle and a Mercedes SUV, Mansfield Township police report. Wayne Vaccaro, 34, of Belvidere, was riding west just after 7:15 p.m. on Route 57 when Irina H. Roberti...
Such a shame. I was in an accident at that intersection too. I cringe every time I drive by it.
76 years old... sounds like it's time for her to stop driving if she can't see someone coming...
It may be simply a case of the person in the SUV didn't really look close enough. A bike traveling west up the hill at speed 50 there I believe or a bit faster would seemingly come out of nowhere at that spot. If the lady exiting Penwell looked right, left and turned then he easily could have not been seen. At that particular spot it's a look right/left at least three times before turning. Believe me I have driven a loud, flashy Harley for 30 years around here and have witnessed first hand too many of these types of scenarios. I can assure you folks very often just glance before turning, not a real purposeful look to see if it is clear.
With that said it appears she was at fault and I am certain is devastated over it. It is always very unfortunate when a young life is taken. A real tragedy for sure.
"It is always very unfortunate when a young life is taken. A real tragedy for sure."
So true. So very sad.
Here is Wayne's obituary.
"76 years old... sounds like it's time for her to stop driving if she can't see someone coming..."
and what if there was no one to be seen if they were speeding? they could have easily been out of sight. just sayin'
Such a sad tragedy.
People need to stop putting the blame on either driver. No one here knows exactly what happened.
Sad for everyone. May he rest in peace: gone too soon. We don't know exactly what happened an may never, so I don't want to rush to judgement. I do know drivers should be tested over a certain age, but some are sharp as tacks, so we do not know. Let's keep both families in our thoughts.
My cousin's boyfriend was killed last Tuesday by a car making a left into him as he went thru an intersection, down in NC. He was 47. The car driver said that he didn't see him. We haven't seen the report yet so we don't know if he had his light on or what speed either one was going.
A couple of years ago, one of the majors that i worked with at Picatinny got killed after skidding on some loose gravel and sliding in front of one of those huge Mack dump trucks.
When i was a teenager, I had a 125 and we lived at the edge of a forest and i used to ride the trails all summer long.
That said, these incidents and many more make one wonder if riding on the street is actually safe, no matter how carefully you ride?
And fast metsman
Up a hill? Cmon… why is it hard to believe the woman wasn't paying attention? It turns into two lanes where that road meets 57.
"Whip motorcycles are loud."
seriously? that's all you got? why would you assume I know nothing about a motorcycle? not everyone likes their bikes loud. not all bikes are loud.
you might want to reread what I wrote and address the actual scenario posted.
are you saying that a motorcycle speeding but, say, anywhere out of sight in that 's' turn would definitely be heard by someone at penwell rd intersection? it would be absolutely not-another-sound-in-the-world quiet around her so she could hear it? how would she know it wasn't going in the opposite direction if she could hear it?
not only that, almost every car made has air conditioning now. what are the odds the woman's windows were closed.
and people absolutely fly up that section of 57. I've had people whip past me like I was standing still.
Look people cut one another off on a daily basis. It happens to me almost daily at the intersection of Bells Lane and Washington St. I’m surprised more accidents don’t happen there. People who have a stop sign think they can just pull out in front of those who don’t have one. I’ve almost T-boned countless people over the last 11 years of living on that side of town. It’s not hard to believe the woman on 57 was careless. And unfortunately it cost a young man his life.
"It’s not hard to believe the woman on 57 was careless. And unfortunately it cost a young man his life."
assumes facts not in evidence.
I've driven by that spot many many times. You have more than enough time to see someone coming. And if you're driving at a normal speed on the turn there's no way the biker could hit the side of the vehicle. He'd have had to be doing a crazy speed if the woman was doing everything right. I'd bet money she misjudged how close he was and pulled out slowly which led to the collision.
A life was lost. Very sad. Facts will be determined. Doesn't help his family :(
If you head east where there are 2 lanes, stay right. Go 45 mph. Everyone will pass you. Go 50 mph. Everyone will pass you. Go 55. Same. It's a sickness, I
think. You can't trust other drivers. Take care of yourself and be as careful as possible.

Yikes! The H'town FB page is way ahead of HL.
Anyway, I hope whoever it is will be ok. Weird article with practically no info.
Calico, I assumed the victim had died. And, I agree, not a lot of info in the article.

There is more to this story. However it is slightly controversial so I will let someone else Google it and relay the info.

There is some kind of manhunt going on in Washington Borough right now. Helicopters circling, police everywhere.
Quotes from the community FB forums:
"They stopped where I work asking if any of us saw a thin scraggly looking man with a beard and glasses and a tan tank top"
"My kids are freaking out.... the state police helicopter is flying extremely low over our house on Myrtle and a state trooper stopped me and asked if I’ve seen a man with a black hat, black pants, & a black shirt... he said if anyone sees him to call 911 immediately!!!"
I wonder if it is two different people they are looking for or the descriptions are confused....

Arrest in 2017 - NJSP Washington barracks - arrested for remaining silent
This is why a 4 year degree is pretty much required to be in the NJSP. No time for dummies anymore...
No guarantees either way, but statistically the degree will weed out more knuckleheads than not.
Do you know that the troopers involved do not have a 4-year degree? or are you just making a random statement?
lol. 'drew nationwide attention'. meanwhile, down the road, no one has heard this story.

He was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center pending a Court appearance.
Update on the officer involved shooting in Washington.
Turn the situation to it being an unarmed black man attacking those police, and Antifa and black lives matters would be protesting.... Don't matter what color you are. If you attack police you deserve to be shot.
I love that they charged him with "idling". I guess he didn't have to cross a street when they got him out of the car or they would have tacked on "jaywalking", lol.
I thought Jersey was no longer charging people for possession of marijuana? THC-infused Fruity Pebbles? Surely, there's no crime in that, lol.
Idle hands are the devil's workshop...…
Wondered what you do the THCpebbles, but now I know --- smoke em if you got em.
"Fruity Pebbles cereal with its delicious fruity taste has been a family favorite for over 35 years! Only Pebbles has the fun of Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble, and THC. Post Pebbles is a deliciously fun.'
And from the department of silly sayings:
"Claudio D. Bonilla Funes (19), sounds like a deportation candidate." Ah.....so now we can do it by name. Excellent! No r-word needed here. It's understood.
"Don't matter what color you are. If you attack police you deserve to be shot." I hear what you are saying, but do you really want to go all in on that? No exceptions? ps: Paz certainly was in the deserved category, IMO.
SD this guy was a nut case based on what was described. If this isn't a cut and dry acceptable shooting then IDK what is.
"If you attack police you deserve to be shot"
If you attack *anyone* you deserve to be shot. The only problem with that incident is that the woman he was beating wasn't armed herself...
This is exactly why stand your ground laws should exist (as well as versions that support intervening on the victims behalf).
"The only problem with that incident is that the woman he was beating wasn't armed herself."
Exactly. Probably wouldn't have been beating her had she been armed.
attack = what? if i verbally attack a police officer, i deserve to be shot? if i throw a water balloon i deserve to be shot? no ... that is what gun training should be about - the use of deadly force when life is threatened, and knowing how to identify the threat level. you don't want the u.s. to shoot a nuclear warhead at china for attacking the u.s. in economics, right?
and, without any knowledge, if a woman being beaten had a gun, it's more likely she would have been shot with her own gun.
Attack means the suspect physically tries to harm you. No that doesn't include words or water balloons. But the latter you deserve a take down and handcuffs.
I believe the standard is imminent harm and fear of one’s life. From my reading, seems to work for both the lady and the cop. If someone screams a death threat while beating you, close enough. If someone tussles with you, your gun gets knocked away, good enough for me.
That said, if we as a nation must be armed to be safe, we are lost. We are not “the last best hope on Earth,” but just a band of pitiful pistoleros ever fearful lest we be shot. Stats tell us that generally, not universally, but generally where there are more guns, the is more gun violence and more murders. I may not know it, but I have to believe there is a better answer.
Ken you know exactly what I meant when I said "attack" so stop trying to pass off tired old arguments.
Beating a woman is an attack that involved no water balloons here...
But if you want clarification, here is some wording from SC's stand your ground law:
"A person is presumed to have a reasonable fear of imminent peril of death or great bodily injury to himself or another person when using deadly force that is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily injury to another person if the person against whom the deadly force is used is in the process of unlawfully and forcefully entering, or has unlawfully and forcibly entered a dwelling, residence, or occupied vehicle, or if he removes or is attempting to remove another person against his will from the dwelling, residence, or occupied vehicle"
"A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in another place where he has a right to be, including, but not limited to, his place of business, has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he reasonably believes it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or another person or to prevent the commission of a violent crime as defined in Section 16-1-60."
"Great bodily injury means bodily injury which creates a substantial risk of death or which causes serious, permanent disfigurement, or protracted loss or impairment of the function of a bodily member or organ."
So... if I'm at home or in my car, no actual "attack" is necessary to justify the use of deadly force. It's automatically *presumed* that it's a possibility by the mere act of unlawful entry into the dwelling or vehicle.
Anywhere else, there needs to be a "reasonable belief" that death or great bodily injury (or other violent crime) needs to be prevented (not experienced). So, approach me aggressively with a baseball bat (which is reasonable to believe could disfigure me or impair a bodily member) and yes, that's justification to shoot. Throwing a water balloon, not so much...

The links were all changed after story updates. This one from nj.com seems current:
The Phillipsburg Mall is demolishing an empty anchor store where the roof collapsed a year ago. Crews for about two weeks have been dismantling the former Sears store on the Lopatcong Township end of the 577,000-square-foot shopping center. If the...

Man arrested with cache of guns, Nazi paraphernalia was making firearms in his home, selling them, authorities say
The man who was arrested last month after authorities found in his home a cache of weapons and Nazi paraphernalia used his Sussex County residence as a hub for manufacturing and selling guns and drugs, according to court documents. When New Jersey...
First Lantern Fly's and now mosquitoes. Looks like I got out in time.
When I got out of the rehab. I realized I could not handle things like I used to. I had to hire help, so I decided to look for assisted living. There was nothing I could afford In N.J. My daughter found this Independent Living place near her home. It is 400 sf studio, For $1.500 a month, with meals, Once a week cleaning lady, Free washing machines down stairs, a bus for shopping and doctors’ visits. Put Garbage outside your door after 8. The largest mall in the area is down the street. The hardest thing to get used to is the culture with the friendliest people everywhere. Mid America starts here. Wadsworth Ohio!!I am still a lurker tho.
Sounds perfect and so much more reasonable than NJ. The mid-west is my favorite part of this Country. The people are awesome! Best wishes in your new place!
Jersey Cash 5 ticket worth over $300,000k sold in Belvidere.
Best of luck to you Old Gent! Keep on lurking, it's good to hear from you :-)
They Key City diner will no longer be open 24 hours.
Apparently Key City Diner doesn't really want to be a diner. The whole point of a diner is that it's always open.
My favorite diner, Tops Diner in East Newark, closes at midnight during the week and 1am on weekends.
If you choose what diners to patronize based on which ones are open when you personally don't need them to be open, that's your prerogative... but I'll continue to go with choosing the ones that have the best food when I'm actually hungry. Key City is not that place though, lol.
Tops! Consumed many a meal there back in the 90s. Their food prevented/cured many NJIT Students’ hangovers... Happy memories for sure.
Warren Hills football game forfeited due to mono.
Agree ianimal. I live right around the corner, been there twice and that was enough for me. I just don’t get it..why Key City is so popular around here. The Red Rose Diner just a couple of miles away is better. Not fantastic..still better and I’ve never seen the place busy.
Donaldson Farms was on Fox News this morning shooting one of their corn guns in NYC.
Positive, my father-in-law loves Key City (LOVES it)... and he lives in Lyndhurst, so... who knows?
Not crazy about Red Rose either. I would just as soon eat at IHOP down the road than either of them. If I want diner food, we head to Diner 248 over by the Wegmans. That place is pretty good.
Update: Confirmed both parties DOA. Condolences to their loved ones. :-(
Riders, please be so careful out there.
So very sad. Condolences. Many years ago my hub rode a bike on the open roads in another State. When he moved to NJ 40ish years ago he gave up his bike and bike riding. He felt NJ roads were too unsafe and too congested (even back then) for biking.
More information on the accident. So sad.
Truly a tragedy. The rider may have swerved to avoid a squirrel or deer. There could even have been someone out of their own lane that they may have had to avoid. I see people riding up to several feet into the opposing lane all the time due to laziness, inattention or whatever other reasons. There are many reasons this could have happened, but I definitely feel for them and their families.

UPDATE: 2 found dead, criminal probe underway after unconscious person call in age-restricted community
UPDATE: Two older people were found dead Sunday evening in home in a 55-and-over community in Washington Township, Warren County, and a criminal investigation is underway, police report. The bodies of Joyanne J. Warner, 73, and Frank N. Warner, 73...
Sixteen units responded to that - and there was a fire call for a ladder to get into the attic; then a BOLO radio call, just guessing but probably looking for the son. Then the usual "don't worry people, this is isolated" even though the whole block was crime-scene taped.
RV - They wanted people to know that there was no threat to the community in general.
I find in crazy that there isn't more of a response here. People go on for days debating about bras and handymen. A rare double homicide occurs and crickets. Strange.
Now they changed it to be on the lookout, armed and dangerous. That sure sounds threatening, at least to me.
Yikes, better lock and load.
Apparently the deceased were owners of Frank Anthony Salon in Chester.
It is just as dangerous that the police downplay an obvious threat; and why? for false sense of security? positive publicity?
Why would you want people to go on about this, Calico? It’s very sad. There aren’t enough facts to comment so it would be gossip and speculation. This is a lot more serious than a bra.
Suze - You're joking, right? 90% of this forum is gossip and speculation. It is very sad that this happened. I hope they catch the suspect before he can hurt someone else.
Encourage? I made a statement that I was surprised there were not more comments. Sheesh.
"Apparently the deceased were owners of Frank Anthony Salon in Chester.
Don't they own a Salon in Hackettstown and Flanders also? that's in the Shop Rite mall, correct? How sad.
Forget it Jake, It’s Chinatown.
Thoughts go out to family, friends, neighbors, such a waste.
I just can't imagine what makes people do things like this. Terrible shame. I'm glad he's in custody.
This article has a full background on the murdered couple. They were two months away from retirement. So awful. I feel terrible for their daughter and grandchildren.
Frank Anthony hair salon is on route 206 in Chester. I have been going there since the 80s. Frank and his wife, Joy, were a wonderful couple. Dear God.
Wow, this is terrible. Glad he was caught relatively quickly though. Their own 50 year old son has been detained in connection with their deaths. He apparently lived with them and had active warrants for credit card and motor vehicle theft - as per the Patch
I just don't get people sometimes, but maybe we're just not meant to get why someone would do something like this.
So incredibly sad.
Tuesday's press conference in Belvidere:
Probably an adult baby with the capability to kill the parents. Beautiful when a true baby, but 50 years later an abomination...
Step 1: Beat parents to death.
Step 2: Steal dead father's credit card.
Step 3: Go gambling.
This individual, if guilty, is sick and twisted. Hopefully justice will be served.
New article regarding the double homicide. It's really too bad that NJ doesn't have a death penalty. What a disgusting piece of scum!!!!
People like this where guilt is 100% confirmed should be executed the day after their trial. Why are we sticking people like this in jail to suck money off of taxpayers.... And then even in states where there is a death penalty, these POS's end up on death row for 30+ years, meanwhile family members who are affected end up dying at times before it's seen through. That isn't justice.
Mets, while I agree, I do so on an economic basis saying let's go the route that costs the taxpayer the least. Currently life is cheaper than execution. Since no client, even a confessed, is 100% guilty, there will always be push back against immediate executions. I am OK with that, err on caution, but the process still calls for extreme change.
In order to satisfy any blood lust, or justice, you need more than just allowing capital punishment. You need to change the entire appeals process. Under the current process, it's less expensive to hold in jail for life than it is to execute which incurs the entire execution appeal process.
Get rid of the BS long drawn out nonsense and it's cheap. Bullets and rope don't cost a lot. Screw the lethal injection crap. Some of these guys don't even deserve that like this guy. Our legal system has become a convoluted mess.
Yes, a convoluted mess whereby many convicted and on death row have been proven innocent of the crime that put them there. Who knows how many innocents were executed? But I guess you’re all good with that. And taking the morning after pill is murder, please. Convoluted mess is right. The death penalty isn’t justice, it’s revenge and it’s wrong if only for the chance that an innocent person might be wrongly executed.
RAS I said people who are 100% guilty. I didn't say people where there may still be doubt. When someone gets caught in the act or confesses or the evidence is indisputable, that's 100%. No reason to keep those people alive. Death penalty isn't wrong in those cases. An eye for an eye.
