Fire Place Insert Install
We used Wood Heat out of Easton. Much cheaper than SOS and were great to work with.
I used Hearth and Home. Competitive pricing for installation with all costs laid out up front. They take care of permits, etc. Neat and clean work. We purchased a beautiful cast iron Jotul.
If you want an insert by winter, act now. You may already have to wait until December (or later!) to get it done.
To get a jump on it, may be quicker to take all measurements yourself. That's what I did. It will help determine the size insert you need and can fit.
Most places (hearth and home, sos, firefox, etc) have similar pricing, the difference is (a) the model of insert you prefer (jotul, Vermont casting, etc) and (b) how quick you can get on their schedule.
Excellent solution for an old fireplace.
Used SOS with no problems at all. They took care of permits. Pricing was equivalent so it came down to schedule and SOS was the fastest at the time I bought. But you are getting into the busy season now.
