**WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING(2/17/18) THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT**

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are possible.

* WHERE...The Lehigh Valley and Berks County, the southern Poconos and far northwestern New Jersey.

* WHEN...From Saturday evening into very early Sunday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions.
Significant reductions in visibility are possible. There remains
some uncertainty with how much precipitation extends this far
westward, however there is the potential for a short period of
heavy snow Saturday night which could lead to a rapid
deterioration in road conditions.

I was just told the catnip is getting low - uh oh

Crap. It's my regular day to go to Shop Rite today. It's going to be a zoo later.

Lol Calico I was just thinking the same thing...I had planned to go last night and never made it. Now that snow is in the forecast I am definitely regretting that decision. My quick Shoprite trip just turned into a 2 hour ordeal by the time all is said and done...:(:(

Oh darn, might have to stay an extra say in Hawaii!

We need a big snowstorm to stop the Flu pandemic and keep people home for a few days. But with no ice or power outages...just my feelings

Snow stops the flu?

I was at the Byram Shop Rite at 12 pm & it was quiet there! I was so shocked but delighted that I didn't have to fight the crowds!

I'm sure Washington Shop Rite will be a nightmare by the time I get there around 4:30. My only hope is that people will still plan on going during the day tomorrow since the snow is not supposed to start until around dinner time.

Yes, Shop Rite actually wasn't too bad. I'm hearing it's supposed to start around sunset.

Calico696 Calico696
Feb '18

Wow Shoprite was practically empty! I just heard snow starting at 4 tomorrow but the heaviest between 8-12

Shop Rite?? Lets get our priorities straight. LOL

Bottle King was quiet, in and out fast.

Actually, Shop Rite in Mansfield was very quiet as well tonight.

Here is a random fact about the Mansfield Shop Rite. The yogurt section takes up 45 feet of aisle space. That is one of the few singular items that takes up that kind of real estate in the store.

Darn. I may be stuck in Florida with a canceled flight!

Hey Greg,
Gut microbiota is the hot topic of the day.
LOL
Along with the yogurt is kefir & kombucha too.

What does "thread the needle" snow mean on that forecast map? TIA if you know.

Rebecka Rebecka
Feb '18

IRun, the runways at Newark may be slush, don't give up hope.

The thread-the-needle aspect involves this system perfectly timing the the precipitation to coincide with colder air present to produce snow, sandwiched in between an otherwise milder pattern, both before and after this system.

Interesting, thank you.

Ir's 4:30 Saturday and the snow is starting to fall here in Independence.

Actually right across from the yogurt is a longer area of bread, it goes past the yogurt into the egg section.

Snow blowing question - Is there a town noise ordinance (In Hackettstown) that states when you can start to use a power snow-blower in the morning?

I believe it is 8 am under noise ordinance.

Seeing reports on social media of a nearly 11 inch reaching from someone in Randolph, NJ.

We have at least 9 our back on the mountain in LV. The dog loves running, actually leaping, through it:)

Same here justwondering! It's when the snow comes and sticks around for weeks/months that is so depressing.
