Mothers Day Ideas?
Does anyone have a good suggestion on what to do around this area for Mothers Day that does NOT focus on food or flowers??
Did you check the HL Calendar? A free concert is listed:

Or how about the Stage Company at Centenary:

Great suggestion Tracy. Thanks. Being new here, I didn't know about that place. I'll look into it, but I'm thinking more adult, as our kids are grown and not around.
If you don't feed your mamma & get her flowers ..... you're in BIG trouble!

Thanks for all the really great ideas! Concerts, shows, the arboretum, etc. She deserves it all!
We usually head to Point Pleasant if it's nice or Turtleback Zoo. Nice to spend a day outside if they weather allows :)
if the weather is nice, visit a State Park.

I agree with pmnsk
Frelinghuysen Arboretum is a beautiful place to walk if the weather is right.
My mom told us what she wants, can't blame her at age 83. She wants to go to a bar that has a juke box, pool table, and shuffle board. They must serve clams and pitchers of beer. Her day is with her kids, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Throwing back some beers, and eating clams. The girls dancing, the guys playing pool and the kids on the shuffle board. After 63 years of flowers and nice dinners she said needs a change. Her biggest request NO cell phones. Looking for the right place is the hardest thing we've ever done. Help!!
Happy Mother's Day to your Mom, Auntiel. ...that request for her Mother's Day this year will be perfect for her...Have fun!!!
No GC, to noisy and way to crowded. Needs to be like the old Island Park. Probably going to have to travel.
WOW auntiel........I'm gonna be your mom in a few more years. Sounds like she's got her priorities in order. Hope you can make her special day awesome for her and memorable for all. Have fun and let us know how it turned out.
Thanks for all the great ideas! We wound up going to the Franklin Mineral Museum. It was great! Yeah, did the flowers and a nice lunch at an Irish pub up there too. Brought home 15 pounds of rocks after a very fun day.
