Fancy Schmancy 50th Birthday Party?
Every 50th (or 40th or 60th or 70th) birthday party I have ever been to has been casual. Usually either at someone's home, a small restaurant or a rented hall. That said, this weekend we are invited to a 50th that is at a place that primarily does weddings.
It's formal dress with a cocktail hour and assigned seating. I was just curious if this seems odd to anyone but me. It's all good, just seems out of the ordinary. But maybe I'm out of the modern loop. LOL
GC - Thanks for the input. I hope his wife isn't paying the $250+ a plate they charge for weddings though. ;-)
Weird? Not at all! The party should suit the taste and style of the person celebrating his/her birthday! Not everyone wants casual everything. Elegant dress and a refined afternoon or evening - nice!
