The Fourth of July Weekend
The Fourth of July weekend was brought to you by the United States Army, The United States Navy, The United States Air Force, The United States Coast Guard and by God, The United States Marines.
I hope you all enjoyed it. It's because of them we had this weekend.
God Bless America and God Bless The United States Armed Forces.
I enjoyed it and I greatly appreciated it. Thank you Singlemale for reminding me of the true meaning of Independence day. It's not about getting a long weekend (which I didn't get), but it's about the people who fought and put their lives on the line for what we have today.
For the Fourth of July, it is particularly meaningful to remember those soldiers who suffered through the miserable winters at Valley Forge and Jockey Hollow, back when it all began for our country.
Please, let's not forget the CONTINENTAL ARMY- the guys who ACTUALLY fought for INDEPENDENCE from England. (nothing against all those other branches- that why we have Veteran's Day and Memorial Day... but...) Independence Day is uniquely owned by the the Continental Army, George Washington, and of course others of that time period.
For example, the Founding Fathers AND THEIR FAMILIES. If anyone is interested in reading about what was really risked, what was lost, and what was at stake for American Independence- you should read

"Independance" Day is self explanatory.
If anything, a rereading of the Declaration of Independance is in order:
