2015 Spring/Summer Pet Photos
Does this chair make me look fat? Mommy says I've gained some weight this winter & need to get into bikini shape. Whatever.
Just got finches after 7 years of going without them. So happy! Love their peeps and songs so much.
Bets on how long it takes my DH to realize we now have birds? (Could be weeks.)
Rebecka...
So happy you've added finches to your menagerie. I love mine too & have resorted to separating the boys from the girls. Have already had one clutch hatch, so that's enough for me. Love the aviary also!
Haha Sugar! Unfortunately for you and your feline friends, my birdcage was chosen because it is cat-proof. Too big to knock over and bars too tight to get your little paws in there. Sorry! You'll just have to stick with tuna for snacking.
Lola - would you believe I found Strawberry Finches? I've been looking for about 5 years. When I found them this past week, I just snapped them up, couldn't resist. Didn't even have a cage set up and ready, either... but they are so unobtainable, I decided I could figure something out in a hurry. Their song is, for me, the most beautiful in the avian kingdom, no exaggeration. That is why I wanted them so badly. Also got white Zebras and of course trusty Societies, just in case the Strawberries decide to get together and have a clutch. (They generally won't incubate or raise young reliably.)
@ Tracy...Not only does Lucky get to play with your adorable daughter all day but gets fed prime rib as well? How "Lucky" can a dog get??
Happy Friday everyone! We have a beautiful weekend in store.... so we can all get out and take some nice long walks! Well, not the cats. But everyone else.
Love,
Hannah, Marcus, Leila, Argos & Athena
Where has Tyler been? Shouldn't we be closely monitoring his kitty development? ;-)
Paging John and Tyler...
Sad that we moved out of hackettstown but really enjoying our new house.
The dog has had a blast running around the yard and also relaxing in the sun as shown in the picture.
I don't know if there's a doggie association for you Teenie, but if there is, I'm sure the cats that run it are very pleased with themselves right now. ;-)
Sugar: It's Rain-a-geddon!!!!!!!
White Shoes: You need to get a grip, sister. It's just some rain against the windows. Just saying...
Sugar, your pic made me laugh! My cat, Boots, loves to be vacuumed..he is a strange cat!
I love this thread so much!! Always puts a smile on my face to see everyone's great pics and adorable pets.
Got to meet Pryor last week :) He is not only cute, but also a very smart boy!!
Tanner is one energetic dog lol!
Nice, I looked up pictures of the breed, they have a shorter coat and bigger ears but they have the same feathery fur along their limbs. Beautiful dog btw!
Ignister Froggy Chaser - The Poodle Association officially declares you dumb as dirt. Not to mention a stinkin' mess. Take a bath poodle boy. You need lavender cream blueberry girlie frill shampoo ... Have your nails painted purple afterwards. Thank us later...
Graciemae is feeling slighted - having been out posted by so many others - so she is making me do this post:
He won't stop licking his paw... giving himself a hot spot.
Got him an e-collar but had to MacGyver it because it wasn't wide enough. Kind of looks like a kindergartener made it. Poor poodle.
Thanks, Jennymc for posting the picture of my beloved pet, Miss Kitty. We got her when she was about l year old and she will soon be 13. She is Birman/Ragdoll breed...
I think this is one of our best pet photo threads. So many lovely (and beloved) animals!
Here are three of my chickens. I turned them out in the garden for a few days this year before planting. They had such a good time looking for insects. Then they got bored and flew over the garden fence and almost got eaten by a German Shepherd puppy. Argos is pretty sure they are lunchboxes on legs.
So it was back into their covered area for them.
fujixt1 - looks like someone just went swimming and still has some water in the ear. ;-)
Miss Kitty is a beautiful kitty.....thanks for sharing
fjuixt1, I think your pup was not awake yet....very cute.
Thanks for all the compliments on our Miss Kitty and for those who have helped post pictures here on HL of her for me. Forgot to add that she has big "blue" eyes too which I think is unique to most cats.
Oh, Iris..Boots is so cute! What a great idea so he can go outside and get some fresh air. I might try that with Miss Kitty but she really is pretty content being inside, I think..
joyful.he's been crying to go out for days.
He was out for 10 minutes then started crying to come back in. Ten minutes later he wants to go out, it's the revolving door syndrome!
Oh, Iggles...I love that shirt. I can't imagine what Sugar is going to say about it, though!
Irish?? I got me some green spray paint that will take care of this situation. Errin go poodle!!!!
Poodle Association, ......
Approved!!!
... or would that be Error go Poodle? Lol
Lucy & Cody, aka - the Cats in Black
They were having a very important Black Cat Association meeting.
What a handsome dog.....age is just a number, I am sure he holds his own with all the other pups.....
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!
Couzin Vito? Founding member of the Poodle Association Couzin Vito?? We like him. We hire him to do "jobs" for us. You're toast Poodleboy. Toast. Or filet. Or a furry little afternoon snack.
PS. You gotz dumb look on your face. You can has gas? Poodle Association recommends Beano.
I got nothin.
'Cept a bath in the kitchen sink.
With cats come 'round to supervise and laugh at me. Y'all aren't even supposta be on the counter.
Worst day evar.
Good for Iggy! Shows you size doesn't always matter. Would have thought the shephards got there first!
Miss Kitty says "Bravo" to Iggy...despite what Sugar's comments will probably be...Iggy is Miss Kitty's Hero!..
Love those spoiled chickens....
Jrsemom, both the 2 1/2 and the newest fosters are cute - together adorable!
thanks for sharing
What beautiful shots above! This is always my favorite HL thread.
Here is a quick iPhone pic of Argos, who just turned 1 year old. He went and sat himself down in the Tiger Lilies to celebrate.
Happy 4th! <3 Argos
Stunningly "dog" Poodle Boy. Rhinestone collar and powder blue hair bow? If I didn't know better, I'd say you looked just like Tammy Faye right there. The Poodle Association refuses to approve until you put your tiara on...
1 lb. bacon - $7
6 chicken, tripe and veggie burgers for dogs - $15
Fresh eggs from my hens - free
Delighted family members and their best friends - priceless
Love your pics, Fuji. With your new camera, I assume? Very beautiful.
And AXD, your series of Tanner made me laugh out loud.
AXD, is Tanner a Brittany? He looks just like my long-gone grandparents long-gone dog Rex... best bird and rabbit dog ever.
Are you serious, 5cm? I don't know much about alpacas but their faces are adorable!
Here I am posting from our mid-morning walk. A toy poodle with this much backup is a fearless creature....
And Easy Going Guy - Monster looks like he's got him arm out to catch any bird that might happen to fly by!
OMG I was *just* about to let 5 German Shepherds out the back door, when I glanced up and saw this on the patio. This chicken has no idea how close she came to biting it! (She apparently decided to escape her coop area and take herself on a little stroll...)
Some of my neighbors have backyard hens. Last week I noticed a crow on top a tall tree sounding just like them. It was "bwaak, bwaak, bukbbukbuk" instead of "caw, caw". I wonder what the other crows and the nearby chickens thought.
Rebecca, your chicken reminds me of the geiko free range chicken commercial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wv-1ftCc4Jg
@Fujixt1 - what a great expression !
Bonv - that is one of my favorite commercials. Please no one tell Sponge Bob* where the Htown train station is!
*My hens were named by a 5-year-old.
Someone put a bow on me this mornin and i been waking round all day lookin like I'm bout to be given to a little girl as a present for her fifth birthday or something. Get it off. Please. Someone.
Do you hear that Sugar? We sent our UPS delivery cat Bootz over with that bow. Now he's not only wearing it, they're going to give that poodle away!! This is way better than we could have ever dreamed!
Oh Iggy you look adorable and NOBODY is going to give you away.....I'm sure it is off by now.
Gosh you are so cute!
Wendy
It is not comin off. No one is takin it off. It is not fallen off. It hasint even come undone. At this point I do not even no what to do.
Sadly,
Iggy
Omg are his little eyes even open yet? How cute! Foster/release... I know you know the drill 5cm, go for it! :-D
That's the tiniest rescue at Antler Ridge - only Dr. Karen can syringe feed it - some of us are afraid we'll hurt it............apparently a gentleman found it in his garage, wrapped it in sheepskin, put it in a tiny basket and brought it to the sanctuary - amazing ---apparently about 2 weeks old...........so I guess I'll stick with these
The man who found the baby mouse, wrapped it in sheepskin and took it to a wildlife rehab facility has just restored my faith in humanity!
I remember having to tube feed tiny baby cottontails. Totally afraid to get it wrong and hurt the little things!
very difficult to do baby rabbits successfully - and also tricky to do pinkys (baby squirrels that are still pink - )
I have syringe fed a nest of baby mice in the past, every hour on the hour, and none of them made it, unfortunately. Pinkies are extremely hard to keep alive.
Dear Sugar and White Shoes,
Did you send this in the mail too? And I am supposed to wear it to the birthday party on Saturday?!?!
>(
Iggy
I think Iggy needs his own Doggie calendar. Different outfit every month. He is so friggin cute!!
Ignitty-pointy-head - Did a large kat with huge thumbs deliver that?? If no, it's NOT from us. The Poodle Association only approves if you wear that on your butt. Then and only then will we authorize the picture for the Poodle Calendar of Shame. No birthday parties. Period.
Thanks us later. We're awful. We're incorrigible. We're katz.

Our job here is done. [snicker snicker]
chubs a wonderful cat who is 11 years old her who has the life and the older sister of leelou the rott
Thanks Joyful and GC. GC, he squishes himself. He is a big cuddler and doesn't care if there isn't room for him. He makes room.
Socks enjoying his hydrotherapy. (Yes, he is leashed, it's just submerged and I am holding the other end. He wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, lol.)

I thought this was cute :)
Max's fur has grown since you first took him in! He looks like a Silky Terrier. What a sweet boy to take "dress up" time like a champ.
Let me tell ya what happened to me. We were all on a hike in woods with mommy and I got stuck. A pricker grabbed my tail and WOULD NOT LET GO! I pulled as hard as I could but it had me by the tail fur and I couldn't leave! I almost had to spend the night alone and maybe I could even have been lost forever! Everyone was gettin farther and further away and I realized they didn't know I was even missin so I yelled as loud as I could: HELP-HELP-HELP I yam STUCK! Everyone came runnin to see what was wrong with Iggy. Argos suggested he gnaw off my tail to set me free. But then mommy got there so he couldn't do that and I was rescued from my certain doom.
Then I came home and got a chewyroll for my troubles.
The End
Iggy
Iggy - Gracie Mae Gooseberry just wants you to know she doesn't care - She was most emphatic about my letting you know...........Cute doesn't cut it with her.
Miss Kitty is very happy that Iggles is OK. Glad to hear you got a nice treat reward too from your Mommy, Iggles..... after all you went through today in the woods...Be careful out there.....It's a jungle!!!
Ziva and our only blue Hydrangea. She is two-years old this week - rescue group was not sure what her birthdate was.
Mean Mommy and Daddy gave Max a bath tonight because he was getting stinky and scrappy looking. That's the problem with Cairn Terriers having oily skin. Here's the embarrassing drowned rat photo. Of course there is no photo of clean soft fluffy doggie because he's too busy snuggling with mommy because he still loves her anyway.
Poodlehead here has been carrying this bowl around the kitchen for 15 minutes. The bowl is empty. No one knows why.
Love that picture of Miss Kitty, jennymc...Thanks for posting...Her blue eyes really show up in this one...
Time to start the fall/winter thread. I will try to get some pics of Daisy tomorrow.
It is with aching sadness and a broken heart that I share the news of Iggy's passing. Iggy tragically lost his life in an accident yesterday evening. He brought so much joy to everyone he met, with his unstoppable enthusiasm and happiness; I don't think anyone who met him will ever forget his larger-than-life personality. With his passing, my life has lost a magical sparkle that he delivered every single day.
Heaven has a new greeter.
Iggles J. Snoots
4/22/10 - 10/14/15
I'll see you on the other side little guy.
Oh my goodness!
I am so sorry for your loss.
We are going to miss his cute little antics, but you are right, Heaven is in for a treat!
Oh no oh no. I am so sorry that Iggy has passed. I really enjoyed his posts. I feel so bad for you Rebecka. He was a treasure.
Oct '15
Oh my! My heart hurts for you. Been there. We will all be there - again and again. That's the risk we take when we love them.
Try to just remember the joy and laughs - it will get easier every day.
So sorry!
I'm so sorry, Rebecka...we know him only through the wonderful pics you have posted & antics described...but for you & yours...a beloved member of your family.
I'm so sorry, we will all miss his pics and commentary. It's always hard to lose a beloved pet, but especially sad to lose one so young and suddenly.
The Poodle Association is too shaken up to express their condolences and say they just want Iggy back no matter what they said before. :-(
Oh, Rebecka, such sad news. I am so sorry you lost your beloved Iggy. My thoughts & prayers are with you. I'm hoping he is running around with my little Moose like they once did here.
I'm so sorry- Iggy was a magical little dude. I enjoyed his HUGE personality and how he always made sure he was stood out over the rest of the zoo. I wish I could fix this for you.
You will be missed Iggy- Love your Auntie
Thank you all so much. He was so young. Toy Poodles can easily live 15-17 years... I thought I would have him for so much longer. I don't think I've accepted he's really gone... just kind of in shock.
I just read your post, Rebecka...and really do not know what to say other than that Iggy brought so much joy not only into your life but to ours as well. Somehow I just feel of all the pets on HL...Iggy was the most loved by us all. R.I.P. Iggy....you will be very much missed....
Hugs to you Rebecka, I know Iggy was very special to you. The picture of him after you gave him the haircut will always remain one of my favorite HL posts. He will be missed here. So very sorry!
Oh my goodness! RIP Iggy, way too young. We are all so truly sorry. He was a beautiful boy!
Sincerest condolences from myself, Horatio, Daisy, Lydia, Oliver and Sabrina. :'(
I am so very sorry! It is so very hard to lose a beloved compaanion, especially when it is so unexpected. Our hearts are with you.
Someone should start a new Fall/Winter pet photo thread... this one will end on a sad note, but pets continue to bring such joy to our lives... we must focus on the happiness. The pet photo thread is the favorite of many of us, including me. I will miss sharing the antics of Mr. Iggles with you all, but pictures of your furry ones will make me smile.
I'm so sorry to read this, Rebecka..............He was a huge personality. So glad I got to meet him.
I don't get here that often but usually read the pet threads when I do.
I'm so, so, so sorry for your loss, Rebecka.
It's always so much more painful when heaven decides it needs our furkids before we think it should be their time.
I see the flash of bright white light, he is running now with rainbow streaks flying behind him, a sparkling brilliant flag of colors in his wake. The others run towards him, all the dogs you have loved and lost. Ones he knew, ones he didn't - all of them now new friends and old - greeting him with exuberant joy. Days filled with play and peace for them until you are joined again one day.
As if the Poodle Association of Sugar and White Shoes were a pair to contend with, now he's with Tigger and Romeo. They are probably the snarkiest tabbies that side of the bridge. Miss them all.
Lynnada - Yes, but Tigger is with cbel. She's the calming influence to make peace amongst them all. A crackling fire, a good book, and a warm throw. Soon they'll all be sleeping. ;-)
So sorry to hear of your loss, Rebecka. I hope the warm memories with Iggy bring you comfort and your family and friends (furry and non) bring you strength.
I don't think I've ever felt this bad over the passing of a dog I'd never even met. His personality was just so big and came through so vividly in all of your hilarious photographs of his various escapades that it pains me nearly as much as if he were one of my own. My deepest condolences, Rebecka.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Iggy. His antics always brought a smile and a giggle. He will be greatly missed.
agree with ianimal. I am sad about his passing and I never met him but feel as if I knew him. From all the pictures and adorable stories.

So sorry for your loss, I did not know him, but loved to read his blogs. RIP Iggy and peace to your Mom and Dad.
Thank you all again. Iggy had such a huge personality for a little dog, it's like I couldn't keep him all to myself; his escapades and poodle troubles (baths, furcuts, etc. mandated by the Poodle Association)... they just lent themselves to sharing and online stories. I already miss him dearly, and will miss posting his adventures. And the humor of Sugar and White Shoes... I hope you two find another source of fun, because I'd be laughing out loud sometimes.
Yes, the interactions between Iggy and the Poodle Association were always something I looked forward to. Just the other day, I had to look at the photo of him trotting around carrying his bowl. So cute and funny.
Maybe Sugar and White Shoes will become the German Shepard Association and pick on someone their own size, lol.
So sorry to learn of Iggy's passing, Rebecka. Our fur babies give so much to us when they are here on this earth, and take so much with them when they leave us.
Hugs.
I am so sorry to read this. RIP Iggy. Hugs to you Rebecka and to you family as well.
My guess is, with Iggy's personality, he will be a shoe-in for Pearly Gate watch.
If I were Sugar and White Shoes, I'd be thinking up some pretty good acceptance/ eating crow speeches to get through those pearly gates when the time comes...
I'm so sorry for the passing of Iggy. just like other posters. I was always smiling at his antics and adorable photos. I never met him but felt like he was a part of my life. He had a huge personality and gave us all such laughs and joy. Thank you for sharing him with us online. My deepest condolences for your loss. My heart aches for you but i know his memory lives on.
We've been in complete shock for weeks now. All we ever did is give that boy grief. Now we miss having someone to needle... We can always count on White Shoe's mommy to get us over the Rainbow, but it doesn't mean we wanted Iggy over there too soon.
Even HackCATStown is sad about this one.
I agree Sugar & White Shoes...Miss Kitty has been pretty upset with the news too. R.I.P. Iggy...you are already missed by so many of us....
"...count on White Shoe's mommy to get us over the Rainbow..."
I don't know, kitties. If there's a certain poodle there, you may have some serious groveling ahead of you. As Spring suggested, I think you'd better start working on those eating-crow speeches now. And I'm thinking a day or two in cat purgatory might involve bubble baths for each of you!
And thank you, Natari, and joyful, for your thoughts. All of you, along with my family and friends, helped me feel like I didn't go through this difficult time alone.
