Snow 3/1-3/2
Uggh! It pains me to type March dates with this subject.
Another round of slop coming Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. I haven't seen any amounts yet, but NOAA is saying 70% chance. There is also something about another system Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Not a big storm but enough to cause issues. Snow ending as a mix most likely. Quite a bit of moisture rolling through next week so have to keep an eye on things. Lots going on as the seasons start to change and the cold we've been locked into starts to break down (finally!).
I don't like killer storms, hate ice n wind, but given the heck we've been through, I would actually enjoy a nice late spring massive dumping to end the year on a snow note. You know, bury us, give us a day or two off, bring on big blue skies right after the snow. Yippppeeee.
"In like a lion, out like a lamb"... one can only hope.
It'll probably wind up "in like a lion, out like a Tyrannosaurus Rex", lol
It'll probably wind up "in like a lion, out like a Tyrannosaurus Rex", lol
That seems to be the pattern over the last fews years..... Late spring. Very late.
Hi Calico. According to noaa, lower chances in the afternoon but becoming more likely during the evening.
LOL ian.
I dislike ice I will admit, but you must learn to love the weather we get in this area, otherwise you will just be miserable all winter!
Plus with 6 snowmobiles and a 30 foot enclosed trailer I have to love snow!
Bryan,
Thank you so much for still looking out for Hackettstown. Do you know which direction the storm is coming from? We will be heading back north on Sunday and will adjust departure time according.
thank you.

It's actually coming from both the south and west so technically i guess you can say from the SW.
Looks like the timing moved up a few hours and it also looks like mainly snow now.
Thanks Bryan, and all snow is good news.
*dang* knew I should've run that one last errand today. Maybe the taxi services in town should offer snowmobile treks.
So happy DH's trip to Pittsburgh was cancelled:) He would have been driving right into it...just like the last trip:(
Dear Husband, I presume - just got home from Morristown - 80 - not bad -- but not great approaching 19 - 517 to PV - not bad --Bald Eagle - on the road to bad....Happy to be home....
be careful out there
Yes- dear or darling husband:) At least we're enjoying breaking in the new wood stove this storm:)
Mountain Ave and 46 East up to Mt. Olive not plowed yet. Slippery. Salting/Sanding but no plows out that I saw. Just came from that way about 15 mins ago.

How are the roads? Well, let's see...it's been snowing for the past four hours with temperatures in the low 20s so I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that there might be a bit of snow on those roads.

Just drove home from Denville. All the way on 10/46. Roads covered the whole way. 4wd and still slipping and sliding around.
90 minute delayed opening for Hackettstown cluster tomorrow...Hackettstown, Great Meadows, Allamuchy.
Mt olive has a two hour day, I'd expect 90 minute from Hackettstown.
Edit: looks like I called it!
Heaven Sent Nursery School will operate on a DELAYED OPENING schedule tomorrow, March 2. Classes will begin at 10:15 am and end at 12:15 pm. Lunch Bunch will be held from 12:15-2:00 pm.
The problem for Tuesday is not the snow. It's the sleet and freezing rain that's expected as well.
From NOAA:
SNOW, SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ARE EXPECTED FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON
INTO TUESDAY NIGHT. SNOWFALL IS FORECAST TO BE ONE TO THREE INCHES
WITH A LIGHT COATING OF ICE UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH.
There is another system expected Wednesday night into Thursday.
