Anyone bringing their children? It says "children welcome" on the trickytray.com site. N & A November 19, 2008 11:00 am · Link
There is a big parking lot at the "back" of the campus, the opposite direction of the Seay building(gold dome). Reach it via Grand ave.. If you are an H-town resident you can go through the hassel of getting a parking permit from the town and park around the campus on the town streets. By the way this is the only area in town you need the parking permit for.
The tricky tray should be a good one. scoutNovember 19, 2008 11:10 am · Link
I bring my kids each year. It's Very child-friendly. Normally, I like the peace; but this is one they can take part in and they look forward to it.
Would like to get a ticket level price list as well! 2cutedoggies November 19, 2008 3:43 pm · Link
Could someone please explain how a Tricky Tray works? I've never been, but see signs and after seeing all the posts about them on this site they are very popular.
THANKS! Anne November 19, 2008 3:49 pm · Link
Anne,
It's pretty simple, long story short, you buy sheets of tickets, typically there's 25 tickets to a sheet. Each ticket is printed w/a number(all 25 tickets on one sheet will have the same number) You have a claim ticket with the same # as the smaller tickets. There are different baskets/prizes( could be anything from certificates to local merchants, restaurants, hair products, baking items , toys etc...)which are numbered (1 thru however many baskets they have) You deposit one or more of your tickets into a bag or some other ticket collection receptacle, and when it's time to begin the drawing they pull a ticket and if your number matches the number they pull you win.
There are different "levels" of prizes.(usually 3) the greater the value of the prize, the more money for those tickets and you get less of them ,(ex 5 tickets for ten dollars), this is determined by the group hosting the tricky tray.
Also most often there is a 50/50 raffle dont remember if Centenary does this or not.. But most tricky trays do..
Hope this helps, Basically if you like the "thrill" of a little gambling then this is a fun night out and if you are with a group of good friends it can be that much more enjoyable! Woo-Hoo!!!!
