Kindness is not dead
Just wanted to let everyone hear that even in your down times, somebody might just surprise you with an act of kindness...I was walking with a box to go to the post office, a complete stranger pulled over and gave me a ride...She did not know me but what a wonderful person...THANKYOU
You are right. I had a laundry basket, trying to open the car door and a woman walking by stopped and said "I will open that for you". Very kind.
I always believe in the good of people, never let HL jade your opinion. If people want to be miserable, their choice
That was very kind of the person but I read too many true crime books to know what can go wrong. Even if its a sweet little old lady.
So a woman offers you a ride and she's a kind stranger...
Had a man offered you a ride we'd be reading about some creep that tried to kidnap you...
Just how many crimes per capita are committed against people stopping to help others?

A MAN offered a ride on this holiday monday MLK day to a woman who was waiting for a train at the Hackettstown train station (no train service that day out of Hackettstown)
I should know --- that kind man is my husband.
I'm with you, Bessie. There are plenty of good people around.

THANK-YOU..THANK-YOU..THANK-YOU!!!!! To whomever just found my debit card in the shop-rite parking lot..
Shop-rite just called me to see if I was shopping there today. I had just gotten home with all my goodies..
YEAH!!!!!!! :) :)
I recently purchased a bike at a local retail store, as I was opening my minivan trunk (hadn't even begun to struggle to get it in!) a young man walking by in the parking lot said "would you like help getting that in the car?". I said "no thanks!" since I was ok, but was surprised that he just randomly walked by and offered help!
Just want to say THANK YOU to the 2 very nice women that dropped items off at my home that I was unable to pick up.
Another thanks to the gentleman that hurried across the parking lot to hold the door for me at Dunkin Donuts:) That was a pleasant surprise! I guess I just got used to the person ahead of me letting it go in my face lol!
I not sure if this applies to this thread, but I find this situation to be an act of kindness. A resident (who has been very difficult and sometimes violent), was admitted into the dementia unit about a month ago. Today when I told her I was done for the day and going home she started crying..giving me kisses and hugs.
It was something unexpected and it made me feel good at the end of the day.
If you haven't seen this movie, yet... watch "Pay it forward " based on a true story (I think). Be ready for a cry fest, but very inspiring and heart warming. Stars Helen Hunt and Haley Joel Osborne (not sure I got the kids name right, he was in "the 6th sense, I see dead people " movie) .
It's "Osment", I believe... and don't worry, I think you're the last person on the planet who hadn't seen Pay it Forward before (-;
I'm a bit late on posting but a few weeks ago Home depot had ferns on sale. I wanted to get 2 for my mom. I couldn't find them in yhe store so I asked a man who had one on his cart where he found it. He told me he got the last one. I thanked him and started walking away. He stoped me and said I could have his, he didn't want it anymore. It was so nice, made my day!!
Ianimal....I , too was surprised that I never heard of that movie, after I saw when it was made. I wish everyone on the planet COULD see it . Maybe some people need to revisit this movie.
