What is that growing on the edges of Donaldson's?

So surprised to not see lots of pumpkins or corn growing on Donaldsons. The last two years they've been lining the edges of the farm with .... I don't know what. It's stemmed greenery, but I don't see any buds or fruits on them. Are they root vegetables? I'm just curious. Always thought their most profit came from the pumpkins.

At least one of the current edges is sunflowers for the Audubon project.

Soybeans help to fix nitrogen back in the soil. They have to rotate.

Really? I haven't seen the Sunflowers. After last year's beautiful display, I was disappointed to not see them again. They must be inside where you can't see just driving by.

Soybeans? Do they bring in a big profit?

The sunflowers are planted along Airport Rd.

Airport Rd is gorgeous w the fields of sunflowers. Not quite as tall as last year, but bright and cheery still.

It looks like the sunflowers this year are a variety that is lower in height. They are in bloom and visible from Allen Road. They're just next to the farm stand and going backwards to the Airport Road side so you don't get the full visibility like they were last year.

pumpkin's go on a five year field rotation. I thought I heard soy beans were over $10.00 a bushel
