Question about Google Earth - blurring out windows?
When I look at our house on Google Earth, zoomed in all the way, it looks like there are grey boxes placed over the sides of the house so that the windows are not visible. I *believe* I am seeing this on other houses when I zoom in, but can't be sure because I don't know window placement.
I searched online but didn't find any info about this.
Has anyone else noticed this on their own house? Or has anyone read if Google does this to protect privacy?
I wonder why they bother with the license plates? We all see them every day, right?
Only my opinion; but I believe they block out windows to cancel out the effect of reflection. I've seen it on those home improvement shows too where they are touring a house and they block out mirrors and picture frames.
Google Earth has recently finished the 3D-ifying of all of the buildings in the greater Phillipsburg metropolitan area. It's pretty cool looking. They haven't done the Hackettstown area yet, but I'm sure it won't be long...
