What does it mean when you're the last one to post . . .What does it mean when whenever you post, you're the last one and no one posts after you and if they do, your comment is not even acknowleged? Could it be that your comments show such profound wisdom that no one else feels competent to reply? Probably not. Most likely, just a coincidence. Don't take it personally. Simple Solution Nov 5, 08 7:53 pm even worse when you post the original, and you are also the last to post :) Hi Happy! justintime Nov 6, 08 7:20 am Calico, you're getting married soon... think of BF... those airline tickets are probably non-refundable. Happy to help you Happy :) Look, up on Hackettstown Life Clyde Potts Nov 6, 08 10:55 am BrownEyes: Are you now the official post killer? Somehow I don't think it's going to be so easy to kill this one. Unless I just did. when I was a kid (couple of weeks ago)we played kick the can late into the nite, and this forum post is sort of like that game, always someone else coming out of the dark to kick the can.......it's raining froggy I nominate Clyde Potts as hero of the day -- for going above and beyod the call of duty. see the biggest problem is at mides to bed. I on the other hand am up most nights until 2am that is not what I wrote - I wrote And from nowhere comes Bessie! Fun post guys, some great lines, and that Clyde, what a guy! I dont want to think its insomnia but I believe it is. Normal bed time 2 to 330 am and then I am up at 630 to 7am. No naps. Tried reading, TV, nothing on, and nothing works As my mom used to say to us..Night, Night, Sleep Tight, Don't let the bedbugs bite. Honestly I have been like this since my separation. So over 2 years ago and no its not because I miss him before all the hater go there. I have a lot of friends all over the US so I end up "IMing" them all night. Maybe I should start of thread of all my issues Yawn Ha! Since it' so late I'll have the longest time between posts...see ya' in the morning! justintime Nov 7, 08 12:10 am Sorry folks, I was away visiting other forums on the net making sure that there were "No last unanswered post left" had a little trouble trying to understand reading the forums in China Clyde Potts Nov 7, 08 9:37 am Hello everyone! 16 days, Calico - wow - that's coming fast! Yahoo! And Bessie, my dad used to say that to us every night! My dad used to say "Good night and don't let me hear a peep out of you" to which we would all cry "peep"! Same here, Dolly. After I left you I went to Dunkin Donuts on Mountain Ave (I NEVER go to DD). Then I got home and read about Ginger and the mice. Great timing. No, but I learned two things today. Look for mice wherever I go and never go to the bathroom in the dark. The last one to post will be the last one to go to bed tonite. I't won't be me. 'Nite all. in another set of fourms i am on its a game last to post wins I wonder what will happen if we all hit "enter" to post at 11:59:59. Will the forum explode? Am I the last one to post tonight? Can't be. Justasking must still be up. Good night. Home from church, and ready to keep this going. Happy "Day the Giants beat the Eagles Day". marshmallow Nov 9, 08 12:10 pm OK, I just know that everyone is watching the Jets this afternoon and Desperate Housewives tonight so this just HAS to be the last post :) Anyone...........................I love desperate Housewives. Who knows this could be the LAST post Clyde Potts Nov 10, 08 9:36 am Maybe we should change the title of this thread to "What does it mean when a thread never ends?"! Or "the neverending thread about nothing". Kind of like a Seinfeld episode. turn up your volume; replace the word song with thread; and have fun getting the lyrics out of your head the rest of the day I clicked on and listened to your little ditty, Beanzer, and I just have to say "I need to tear myself away from this forum and get a life." HA - HA - HA - HA - HA!!! It's alive!!!! Hackettstein, my baby, it's alive!!! Ha, ha, ha, ha!!! just in case you missed the lyrics: You shouldve wrote it with the new words. I thought about that cbel, but I just wanted to keep this one alive...I've got high hopes for this thread...high apple pie in the sky hopes...plus, I have a secret evil plan to see how many tangents this thread can produce... Ooooooh, Cal, I like your evil laugh much better. Mmmmwwwuuuaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beanzer: I think this thread can live on it's own, but I'll play along with you. You seem to have a master plan and I'm in for the ride. December 4th, I'll be up thinking about how two years ago I was in labor preparing to have my daughter at 7:42 the next morning! You were preparing to have your daughter at "7:42" - why not 7:43 or 7:41? That's planning! monaco Nov 10, 08 10:32 pm DING, DING, DING ~ INMCB is number 200!!!! Wow!!! Yes, Beanzer...your prize is you get to have a posting below me. ;) This post is SO REFRESHING, after reading the racism and hatred from How much is your safety worth in Hackettstown? post. Clyde Potts Nov 11, 08 8:58 am This post IS fun, Clyde. Cbel....you know what I realized about a year ago, everywhere I have ever lived, has had a "1" in the address....1, 10, 17, 19, 102, 106, 175....creepy. Calico: For me, 5 out of 6 ... 681, 317, 106, 412, 373 and 416. Good morning everyone I only recently started this but I do think this is funny....and you can probably tell my life must be pretty boreing or I simple find the absurd amusing. "A day without laughter is a day wasted". Charlie Chaplin said that so I try to laugh at lest once a day.... Why did the chicken...oops sorry, we already did that one ;) THIS JUST IN Clyde Potts Nov 12, 08 1:57 pm If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, will it hit the bear who may or may not be doing his business? ianimal your ponderings on being whelmed were also pondered in the movie ten things I hate about you, lol. Ever since seeing that movie that question has been on my mind. :) How much wrist could a wrist watch watch if a wristwatch could watch wrists? Moses supposes his toeses are roses but Mose supposes erroneously because nobody's toeses are poses of roses as Moses supposes his toeses to be. if a man speaks, and there is no woman there to tell him he is wrong. . . is he? Clyde - I still want to be 317 and I think if I take this thread to court I would totally win. I'm going for 317! Justasking your appeal has been approved lol Clyde Potts Nov 12, 08 3:20 pm To get a free $15 coupon for White Castle, click on this link: I totally missed it. Hockeymom, sometimes it takes a little while for your selected gravatar to show up. have not added a comment since for the past couple of nights the system wont let me. hockeymom, it could take a half hour for new gravatar. Try also deleting your cookies, then repost. You'll have to insert security codes or captchas so that 'bots', etc. don't post on forums. I'm # 400!! I hope no one has jumped in before me. I have to stop typing!!! marshmallow Nov 13, 08 9:55 pm Dunno about that... but she *did* do that pizza crawl a couple of Fridays ago. My calculations indicate that at 10:34 we are at 62 posts or thereabout. I can't keep my eyes open any longer. Will report back in the morning. Nite all. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!! That was so perfect one would think it was planned. :-) One last look at HL and I'm off to bed... justintime Nov 13, 08 11:31 pm LOL,Reggie. Not my cat...but I think he's THINKING..not flipping. Wish me luck everyone...don't know if I'll get to the computer again before the Hackettstown Elementary Tricky Tray...I wanna win! :) (this should be good for another 10 posts at least) Oh and Christine, good luck to you. I know you are going to the PAL Tricky Tray...I know you were lucky last year. Have a great weekend, Everyone! I'll be trying some of these fabulous recipes . . . Thanks Beanzer good luck to you also. If I win something I really dont want you have first pick! We're at 37 for the day. I'm kind of winding down myself. Will check back later before I turn in. I hope everyone is enjoying their evening away from this thread. Thanks, cbel - ain't that the truth! It's been all consuming, but LOTS OF FUN! Happy Friday night everyone, BF are on our way out to beer & game night across town at our friends. I'm calling it a day at poster 466. Nite all. Tis the season tlo win lots at Tricky trays Fa la la la la la la laaaaaaaa Hey Christine, Congrats Christine! I went to a tricky tray in Sparta (kids were allowed - so I took my daughter) - We didn't win anything : ( I've always thought that M&M's sold in Hackettstown should be discounted....just makes sense right? I won a big fat goose egg at the tricky tray. INMC... I can point out where you can find it in the dictionary, but I doubt it would help your mood (-; Since I didn't win any baskets, the Wii, 50/50, the TV...an M&M like Christine...nothing...not a thing.....can I win #500? Sniffle. Sob.
Here's another TT loser. :-( Good Grief, Bessie, that's an early good morning. Make me #2. Friday stats: first post at 7:07 am, last at 2:02 am, for a Bessie - I won Julie Okay if we make it to 550 today Im taking everyone on a cruise. Christine? Nowhere, I've been there its a nice place. What I find strange about the people there though is that they have this thread on the internet titled Nowhere Life and the people there just keep posting on this thread about nothing, they just keep posting & posting & posting. We would NEVER do that here. And all their forum topics everyone is in agreement, we would NEVER do that here lol Clyde Potts Nov 15, 08 12:10 pm great -- thanks Christine... now I have THAT song in my head... working it to 550. Is there a prize since I won nothing at the tricky tray last night? marshmallow Nov 15, 08 1:26 pm bummer about not winning anything marshmallow... I didn't either --- Aww Crunchy, you beat me. =( Good job. I had 400, so I guess I'll just have to wait for 600 now. marshmallow Nov 15, 08 1:33 pm and I can honestly say I have read VERY few of the posts! LOL Christine, Do you mean drivel (inane conversation) as opposed to dribble (what a teething baby does)? marshmallow Nov 15, 08 1:54 pm wow you all have been very busy...congrats to all the TT winer great timing with the holidays coming Hey All..SO glad this thread is still rockin!. I have been too busy to get here before now. I see for some the TT went well and others not so good....I hope the night out was fun either way! Hockeymom Nov 15, 08 3:06 pm Clyde...thanks for the TW post. As you can see I read Bryan's first...sorry : ( I am glad I got done what I needed to before the storms roll back in. I pay close attention to the weather always...I am facinated by it. Hockeymom Nov 15, 08 5:16 pm This thread keeps going and going and going..... That was one quick-and-crazy storm. Hopeful.. the incident was thoroughly addressed when it happened (and then some). I doubt anyone wants to get back into it. Thanks so much, ianimal. I thought that must be the case; I guess I didn't search through the prior threads carefully enough. Thanks again, ianimal. I wonder if anyone on HL attended the march today? I wonder who is going to hit #550 AND if it's possible to happen by end of day tomorrow - Sunday - any thoughts? Hopeful, there were lots of families there whose children attend Ridge and Valley up in Blairstown. I believe there was at least one Hackettstown family there. The school had their annual Harvest Festival tonight and so things were delayed as we waited for people to join the festival after they participated in the unity march -- word was that it was well attended and it was a very positive thing. Thanks for the update, CrunchyMom. I'm glad to know that the reports on the march were positive. Hope the Ridge and Valley festival went well, too. 531....still going....man do I feel like making a pot of soup right now....it'll have to wait till tomorrow, I've got to look back at some of the recipes in the soup thread....this forum always makes me hungry... At this rate, we're going to get to 550 tonight - maybe we should shoot for 600 by the end of day Sunday ;o) Great news -- it looks like a new "Saturday Night Live" tonight. Paul Ruud is hosting; Beyonce is musical guest. I think it's the first new edition since the election. It could be a good one... How good will SNL be w/o the Election Clyde Potts Nov 15, 08 10:02 pm Until the leadup to the election, SNL hadn't been relevant for at least 5 years, IMHO. Hopeful in H, Clyde Potts Nov 15, 08 10:07 pm only 10 more now....Hopeful, Clyde is right....it sucks you in and you cant stop...but it is FUN Welcome! Hockeymom Nov 15, 08 10:18 pm Thanks, Clyde. I've lurked on and off for a while, so I'm familiar with what goes on. I didn't see the prior threads on the incident, although I was interested in the march today. I still remain Hopeful...
Okay, on to 600 for tomorrow... I love your gravatar. Mine happens to be an original. It's a picture I took this Spring of my daughter's hands cupping a bunch of wild violets she gave me - she's always picking flowers and giving them to me . . . sweet, thoughtful child of mine. C'mon we can keep going I am still wired from my day! Now Im hungry and want ice cream I'm just about to eat an ice cream sandwich -- I have a few in my freezer. I need something cold, and water just won't cut it. I just finished a tiny Haagen-Dazs Vanilla.....yummmy It must be in the air tonight Hockeymom Nov 15, 08 11:25 pm Happy, what a great story about your gravatar. I love the fact that those are your daugther's hands holding the violets. Very sweet. Okay, all you sugar addicts - I'm sitting here eating Lays Potato Chips . . . and you know what they say - you can't have just one! Okay, so who dropped the keg off at my house and made me drink it to the point where I can't count anymore? Hmmm? Who was it??? Really! I know the feeling, it happend to me about 20 minutes ago. Good night, Christine . . . tomorrow's another day. and to all a good night or in this case good morning. Good night John Boy Paul Rudd (niiiice), Beyonce (the best) and now Timberlake! Cool. He's so funny! Okay, the skits have not been the best, but I am enjoying Timberlake. And Andy Samberg is hilarious! What Waht? Who woke me up? SHHHH trying to sleep! How can you guys watch tv and post at the same time? Laptop, maybe? And, if so, how dastardly is that - relaxation time along with the internet . . . wow, I learn something new everyday! INMCB, did you see Beyonce dancing her heart out? You're right; she is the best! Yes, Hopeful..she is such a talent! She can sing, dance, and act like nobody's business. Plus, she is so beautiful. Well, I don't know Christine (well, I might -- I don't know peoples' secret identities), but I'm looking forward to seeing her perform:) LOL. Yes, shhhhhh. I heard Christine dances like Beyonce at happy hour Thursdays. Roll the video tape: It's funny . . . because I'm reading you two's post - Hopeful in H-town & INeedMoreCowBell - and I'm reading it in a whisper with a lot of hee, hee's - I need to go to bed - Good-nite, Girls! Good morning. Wow, what a day yesterday! Bessie opened with 486 at 5:13 am and ianimal closed with 582 at 1:53 am. Looks like a candle to me. Are you seeing my Rolling Rock bottle? BTW, love the sun! Okay, this will make it easier to get closer to 600 - just add on!! 10 Eagles dancing (that would be in the end zone)! Morning All....What a difference a day makes.....at least the sun is out. Hockeymom Nov 16, 08 10:59 am Hmmmm, must be football season. Okay, it used to be a Mia Bella Candle - now it should be purple flowers . . . what do you guys see now? keep in mind. BrownEyes Nov 16, 08 11:56 am SueR: My records show that you're 602! I'm glad there's no money riding on these numbers, and now I'm going to stop my recordkeeping and just enjoy this fun thread. I don't have an explanation as to why there's a difference between AOL and IE on your computers, but I changed the gravatar recently - so don't freak out that you're just seeing it now and had been seeing the candle forever . . . the flowers are new. 611....I cant wait to see what # we are up to when I get back home tonight....Keep up the FUN work all!! Do you think we can get to 700 today? It's definitely an in-the-house kind of day for me... That's an interesting question, Hopeful. You sure sound like a female to me. Good question, Hopeful. I think it was the card that made me think you were female . . . I'm sorry if my assumption was erroneous though. Not telling yet... I can't multi-task anymore - my brain's hard-drive is overloaded, but more power to you if you can! Hopeful, based on your prior post, I would say female, BUT since you asked I am guessing that maybe you are not. Either or both doesn't matter to me I judge people by how they treat me and others. Clyde Potts Nov 16, 08 2:41 pm So it's 7 ladies (or is it lords?) dancing (or is it a-leaping?) You're right, Clyde. It doesn't matter. Jan's still here, Clyde. You can visit her (or is it him?) on Thanksgiving Day Turk'y. Good one, cbel. are we at 5 G O L D rings yet?? in my best singing voice! not likin that gravatar...makes me look unhappy dont ya think? #625 here! Woo hoo. Oh and the Giants are whooping up on Baltimore. Woo hoo again. marshmallow Nov 16, 08 3:47 pm Re: What does it mean when you're the last one to post . . . Ponderthis Nov 16, 08 4:26 pm An easy way to keep this thread going: what is your MOST favorite snack? Are you a sweet or salty person, and what specifically would you reach for? marshmallow Nov 16, 08 6:26 pm No, Hopeful in H-town, not a vegetarian. I just morphed over to the Bob and Doug McKenzie version for a second... Name as Osmond! Can someone explain to me the appeal of Dane Cook? This is fabulous! Are we now open for any topic whatsoever to keep this thread going? What's wrong with a tie, Calico? Should they go to a FG kicking contest after one period of OT? ianimal, could you do a work project for me, I heard you would be all for it. lol Doritos Do Rock!...I'm old school only like the nacho cheese kind...I hate when they mess with a food icon - What's up with the Doritos Hot Wings/Blue Cheese or something or other combo I saw...and such. Like Reese's Peanut Butter cups....don't mess with those - like adding caramel or making a white chocolate variety...I don't like change! :) In my best Curly voice (which isn't very good, I'm afraid): mmmmm-cool ranch doritos. marshmallow Nov 16, 08 8:33 pm I don't get Dane Cook either. They said he got 'popular' basically by being on Myspace and upping his friends. That would explain it. I grew up not far from the Entenman's outlet in Wayne....yum discount tastieness. Cook- word of mouth marketing, college campus shows, through internet, blogging, etc . . . I think he's obnoxious. All-time favorite comedian from the old school would have to be Don Rickles (go figure, lol). You guys remember Steven Wright? He cracks me up. And there's nothing like Steve Martin's album, "Let's Get Small." A comedy classic. Reggie, you're so right. Carlin was hilarious. FYI... we blew away the Sarah Palin thread (473 posts) a long time ago... not that that's a reason to stop this one anytime soon. Carlin is funny, your not. What's your point? lol I kid. the anti christ is Obama, not me. 666 was an old roman leader nero's number of sorts. Also the mark of the beast from the water (politician) and the beast of the land (priest) in the book of revelations. Something like that. "The Beast will come in the shape of a woman... most likely one holding a cupcake."
Reggie, it looks like "your" wolf is howling at "my" moon. Well done. I blame my magical 666 powers. The number of the beast is actually 616. ianimal who posted 616? Wow...way to go everyone !! I am back and ready to help in the efforts Hockeymom Nov 16, 08 9:40 pm Jim Gaffigan Saw an informercial this week on Dean Martin's old variety show. Vaguely remember as a child. So smooth, and funny, and what a dreamy voice. NOW I appreciate it. Great...a crush on a dead man. My brain is getting ready to explode. Clyde: You still here? Still keeping up? Hockey mom, you need to sign in with an email address and post again. ianimal, you are more closer to being the anti christ than I. Shall we wager? LOL Reggie....I have been posting with my Email and it is this grumpy looking thing....I stopped posting with the email link. But for you I will do it again Anyone ever eat a bowl of chocolate ice cream by dipping hard pretzel pieces into it? Salty AND sweet... go here Click in the upper right "sign up for" Chocolate covered pretzels!! Perfect together, like NJ and you. We can be the 700 Club! As you can imagine, the devil inside me is very excited about this! Remember the Seinfeld with Elaine acting like the devil with the priest and Puddy? Your mother "sews socks" in Hell (I saw the Exorcist for the first time on network TV, LOL) Seinfeld I'll come over... we'll make out. Well, reggie and Ian - must you take over this thread as well with your "evil" banter? Give it up children . . . Yeah, that was a great Seinfeld episode. I think Puddy was the devil, as in the NJ Devils, and Elaine was the Madonna in white, and together they drove the priest insane. Something like that. Good stuff. Ya really had me, I was about to unlock my door and light some glade ass scented candles and throw on Air Supply's Greatest Hits the "B Sides". Darn. First off...Ianimal....what a great idea with the ice cream and pretzels!! yummmmmmmmm Good job, guys - we hit 700!!! empty your cookies. Wait, wait, I can't get past Reggie's glade ass-scented candles and the Air Supply soundtrack. I need another ice cream sandwich... and maybe a pretzel. I just made up an email and it gave me a pissed off grimace. member him and the fry guys? Now lets try diff sign in name and same email. Yeah, the gravatar is connected to your email address; that's why you need the email address when you sign up for the gravatar. Go to it, Hockeymom. I'm looking forward to this image! Ohhh my this is getting crazy tonight.....and I have to go to work for a while.... boooooo : ( Glade sells ass-scented candles? Should Yankee be concerned? I've yet to see that particular variety in *their* arsenal, lol. Doesn't work. They have to match. My niece has just started with the I'm ascared of pretzels in ice cream. I like grubs dipped in choc. taste like Mn'Ms. HA! Reggie, your muffin girl (is that what that is?) was there a couple of posts ago...did your fake email address cause your real one to disassociate from your gravatar? Did you disable your gravatar? there. Don't worry al, it's just me, reggie, fighting with my personalities. I'm experimenting to help out hockey mom with her gravitar and messed it up. I think I got it now. Yeah! you can't change a thing or it wont let you post. I cant stay away....I'm dooomed....It must be the moon, you are right Hopeful.. Hockeymom Nov 16, 08 10:23 pm You can only post in any given thread from any given computer under a single identity... or at least that's how I understand Chris's policies against people agreeing with themselves under different aliases. It's an adult school night! My cup cake is better because #1 it's not a pic of me, and #2 cuz the cupcake kid has been ignoring our questions about gravitars. Hoeful, you new to the forum? I don't know about the cupcake, but Reggie cetainly looks as though that's the best cupcake she's ever seen! Hice smile! Phil! Where ya been? You didn't come to happy hour to meet Jenny! SHe was very upset! WHAT!!! That's not you??? But then again I do look a little better than Dr. Phibes in my gravatar - not much though... Reggie, I explained that somewhere in the other post. Unfortunately I sometimes get finished with work around 6 and since I work on the south side of town (by Leroy Brown, of course) even if I left soon after 6, I couldn't get there until a minimum 6:30 BOOO.. I'm new to this thread, but I've been in a number of other ones, such as favorite songs, etc. I tried to keep out of the political mess because I could see it was becoming a morass;-P Glad you caught that typo, Reggie. I am no gardening tool, lol. Nice to meet your words! LOL as well as everyone I have yet to talk with Oh yeah, this friday, everyone form the forum will be meeting for a moonwalk competition. And to send off Calico and her BF to Vegas for their wedding. :-) Phil, I usually get there around 6-6:30 myself. Excuses, excuses!!!! He was bad though, leroy I mean. Lovely to "meet your words," too, Reggie (well put, Hockeymom!). "Badder than old King Kong, meaner than a junkyard dog" streeither = "stress him too much either" Don't know what went on there! Definitely don't stress your dog out, Phil. LOL Hopeful.....I left to work and came back to say good night all!....Please dont let this be the last of the night... Hockeymom Nov 16, 08 11:44 pm OK - to keep it going a bit while I wait for my clothes to finish drying - for comedians: Did anyone else notice that many modern sitcom trace their roots back to "The Honeymooners" and if not that, then "The Lucy Show"??? "Family Matters", one of my favorites took from both. Jan's still here, Clyde. You can visit her (or is it him?) on Thanksgiving Day Turk'y. Clyde Potts Nov 17, 08 8:17 am Re: What does it mean when you're the last one to post . . . Clyde Potts Nov 17, 08 8:23 am Go Giants.. BrownEyes Nov 17, 08 9:04 am Rebecka.... Brooklyn??? BT Resident Nov 17, 08 10:42 am about to start some laundry....quick question do you wash your fruit (apples, oranges) if you are going to peel and eat it? I love this thread...great for questions that aren't worthy of a top post! yes, because if you are peeling in your hand and your hand touches the peel and then touches the inside of the fruit you can cross the germs that way. So yes It's afternoon already !! This day is going waaay to fast....Hope everyone is having a good day.... Hockeymom Nov 17, 08 12:17 pm The Griswolds on Arthur Terrace were hard at work yesterday, lol... no offense, if Clark is a regular on here. It's a nice display, if slightly over the top (-; Okay, there's a pet peeve of mine (for the Cranky thread). Why put up Xmas decorations before Thanksgiving? In the old days, it was random when they went up, but it was certainly after Thanksgiving. Then, they stayed up until Little Christmas, Jan. 5th or 6th, when the three kings came. Something like that. I forget my religious history. Love candles in the windows all year...cept my cat was knocking them off the sills to get into the windows....LOL I agree lest not rush things! One holiday at a time Hockeymom Nov 17, 08 12:39 pm Speaking of "slightly over the top" decorations - have any of you ever seen the guy in Dover off Mt. Hope Ave??? BT Resident Nov 17, 08 1:09 pm All I can say is wow to the place in Dover. My daughter and I went last year. Not a place to park on the street but def. worth the ride around a few times. There was a past thread about decorations last year I believe.anyone?? My dad always puts his lights up before Thanksgiving before it gets too cold. He doesn't turn them on though. As for us....we don't put any up, BAH HUMBUG! BT Resident although the Dover house is nice its MINOR LEAGUE compared to the Elvis House in Mahwah. I'm still packed and waiting for my tickets to Hawaii, CLYDE! You know, I've been thinking . . . I think the prize is in the sharing. Browns lead 29-27, on Phil Dawson's 56-yard field goal. Ugh again. Here's something I noticed (aka TRIVIA!!!) that I've never seen anyone mention. Wow, how am I typing this when I'm kicking a field goal??? I never noticed the Newburgh Road sign issue, and I don't know the history there at all. Although I've often noticed spelling errors on road signs on the same street. Of course, I can't think of any examples right now. Hmm. Usually foxes don't attack people unless they have rabies or you're trying to get it to come to you so you can feed it. Yeah, she said it was rabid. She said it smelled of skunk and the animal control person said the fox might have been feeding on a dead skunk. Hello and goodnight, justintime and Phil. It is definitely time for me. Or is it dinner? That would definitely be a supper. Okay, back to work. Time to think about supper. Leftover meatloaf and monaco's scalloped potatoes. 41 more and we hit the magic number 1000 Life is really bad when this is the most exciting thing I'm looking forward to or then mabye not. We won't have to wait too long it every posts right now! Evening everyone ! I am back and ready to help get to 1000...This really is exciting in an odd way! LOL Hockeymom Nov 18, 08 6:35 pm Only you probably won't get anything cbel. I don't seem to have any luck lobying for an "I was # 1000!" shirt. Gosh this takes forever to load with all these posts. Good Luck to the big 1000 winner. only 9 more to go...woooo hooooo Hockeymom Nov 18, 08 7:49 pm firefly, you are so right, its just takes long to load it up from the forum topics list to this thread because its so big. Then I will go with you to Hawaii and you can come with me to Europe or is it the Superbowl?? I was logging in to post about going over 1,000 when the thread was redirected to youtube... ha ha ha! is it seriously a problem that we're having such a great conversation?? HAPPY 1000+ POSTS!!!! Ticker tape falling - ball dropping - everyone hugging and kissing, laughing and crying !!!!!!! I was laughing so hard about the you tube link. Chris deinitely has a sense of hum, but its not stopping me. AWWWWW Christine, sorry to hear about the rough day. Passing you a glass filled with whatever it is you would like to relax with! Hockeymom Nov 18, 08 8:36 pm Wow, thanks, Jill, for the workaround. Nicely done. However, I am a fan of Rick Astley and that song, so I was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events. Do we know yet who did it? Hey Hopeful...wondering when you might show up! Glad for the link too. Not everyone is using it tho.. Hockeymom Nov 18, 08 8:48 pm Yeah, but now when you post, you have to refresh that view rather than clicking on Forum again, as I usually do. (Which, now that I think about it, was probably dumb, but it does let me see what's going on in other posts, I guess.) Moving on to my second Kettle and OJ now and settling in to watch Fringe. I didn't get the chance to get to the computer all day till now...wow, you guys were busy. I went to Hackettstown Sandwich Shoppe today...got the Buffalo Chicken wrap...it rocked! I was using ChapStick all day due to the buffalo sauce! :) It was CJ. After long research, CJ IS THE 1000 Post. Good Job CJ, your the man (or the woman) Ballons are still falling Is Fringe the coolest or what? It's right up there with Sons of Anarchy... News Flash!! The Neverending Thread appears to have been relieved of its link to the Rick Astley video. Gotta love it . . . it's back to business as usual - you guys rock. Let's shoot for 2000 - c'mon, wadda ya say?!? I'm in! Whew! Feeling better not having to go to the rogue link anymore. However, I bookmarked it, just in case:) I stole my husbands laptop since mine has a virus problem AGAIN! Looks like the pressure is off for tonight. May we all have a good night's sleep. See you in the morning. Night, cbel, and congratulations to CJ! I guess Rick Astley was the prize... Did anyone catch the U.S. All-Star Jump Rope Team and The Peking Acrobats on "Ellen's Really Big Show" tonight? That's some crazy stuff. Thanks. Clyde Potts Nov 19, 08 8:26 am SueR? That didn't happen at your house? Also what makes you think it was drinking lol Clyde Potts Nov 19, 08 8:35 am I tooted my New Year's horn off my balcony at Mansfield Village. Did anyone hear me? Hi Clyde - it happened at my house . . . I wrote you guys about it - see 2,000 by T-Day, piece of cake. I expect to see that you guys are over 2,000 when I get back from Vegas. Morning All. I wonder what Chris has in store for us when we do hit 2000? hockeymom Nov 19, 08 9:36 am ood Morning all! I am talking in code now! I was going to ask Jill if she's a sadist, but if you all think 2000 by Thanksgiving is a piece of cake, then I'm in! BF tried to post in this thread the other night. He typed his comment, changed the name from Calico696 to his "handle" and changed the e-mail address from mine to his in order to have his own gravatar that he made. He kept getting an error saying that he could not post because someone else had posted from the same computer. Does he then need to use my e-mail address instead of his? If so, then he can't have his own gravatar? Not sure of these answers....anyone know. Yes, he can have his own gravatar and post under his own name. However, you can't both post to the same thread from the same computer. You can post in separate threads though. Let's go people... this thread isn't going to extend itself. Three hours lost... we need to pick it up if we're gonna get to 2008 for Turkey Day. Went to Macy's on lunch today...........what a zoo!!! Thought people were supposed to be broke? The registers lines were 12 people or more deep. Thank goodness I was just returning something at the jewelry counter. Sound like BF, he's very cheap (more so with himself than towards me or his family). His favorite saying is "if it's free it's for me". Man, not liking these extended scheduled maintenance sessions... Let's see... Evening Everyone ! Glad to see we can post again. Anyone know why that happened? I never was a Seinfeld watcher so I can even guess. hockeymom Nov 19, 08 7:40 pm I think its the World Record Gods just testing us, BUT WE SHALL OVERCOME Clyde Potts Nov 19, 08 8:00 pm Looks like I have to join the night crew tonight. I actually got a life today, but I sure did miss you guys. SueR: I wondered about Puddy being sponge-worthy, too. He sure wouldn't have been for me! "Commenting is disabled"? That was ominous. Lets see I had a better day finally got heat in the store. Been out since the famous snow storm. Hi Cbel...and welcome to the night shift...get those fingers ready for typing tho ! Hockeymom Nov 19, 08 8:31 pm Just went on Continental and airfare to Hawaii is less then $550 per person for a week. My friend lives over there. He says that businesses are really hurting and giving away stuff just to get some type of income in. Who wants to babysit two sometimes wonderful kids (for free)??? M&Ms, definitely, Christine. I do need to know which store is yours, though. I'm too new to be in the know. I say decorate with trees and lights - Hersheys may be offended if you do the M&M thing... (you know how easily anyone gets offended these days). I'm with the M&M theme, too, Christine... my favorite decorations growing up were the Santa-themed Coca-Cola mirrors, ornaments and other memorabilia my parents collected; they have quite a collection. Okay so that is 2 for M&M and 2 for regular decorations. calico... just heard on ESPN that Moose is calling it a career. Borderline Cooperstown, you'll have to wait and see. that's 3 for M&Ms, Christine... maybe you should have your accountant handle this (-: I think Puddy *was* in the sponge-worthy episode. He wasn't the guy Elaine was dating at the beginning, but I think they got back together toward the end of the episode. OH I see I missed Calicos. It didnt show up when I counted. Dam filtering system.....:) Oh by the way I counted my storage bins with my M&M collection. 12 lg bins, 4 sm bins 3 lg bins with Christmas M&M's. Think my window is big enough for all? M&M for me Let me pose the question again for everyone if they are not reading. Wasn't Puddy also in the episode where the dentist Tim Watley had the party? He was wearing a fur coat and his "job" was to keep Jerry away from the music. According to my count there is 4 for M&M's and 1 for regular Christmas...My vote for lights and M&ms counts doesn't it? Hockeymom Nov 19, 08 9:10 pm I would like to see a window decorated very simply, with a Christmas tree, and maybe some Christmas music extending outside. Elegence and reverance in simplicity. I figured Moose would retire. Being under 300 in wins might hurt his chance at the Hall. ianimal, that is definitely one of the Puddy episodes. My friend has not gotten back to me yet RE: sponge worthy. This thread is complete friggin' chaos, lol... I love it; everything always needs to be so structured and proper. Really. Television, Mike Mussina, Seinfeld, Christmas decorations, sports, dogs and cats living together. Mass histeria! My favorite Puddy line (other than "I'll come over, we'll make out" - nothing can top that, lol) is "Yeah... that's right."... just his deadpan delivery makes it outrageous. My friends and I still use it all the time, lol. Who's hosting Thanksgiving and who is going to family? Anyone going out to eat? Hockeymom Nov 19, 08 9:32 pm Justasking: I almost posted "No one gets out alive." What am I turning into? I'm going to sit back and breathe for a few minutes. You gotta love Puddy. When he and Elaine were talking to the priest, who told them they were BOTH going to hell, didn't he say, "That is bogus!" I'm a big fan of Patrick Warburton. Come on, folks. We've got work to do. Surely you're all back from putting kids to bed, cleaning up in the kitchen, folding laundry.... well, I gotta go do some of that now. Be back. Hopeful... you know his real name; you're obviously a much bigger fan than I am (-; BTW Why is it not udpating to the true posts so far. Goodness, you folks have been busy. Don't think I can add too much tonight since Ihave lots of other things that were already on the agenda. In the long run Christine it is YOUR store. Decorate it the way you want to. I am sure there is nothing ho hum about your traditional Christmas window at all. In this day and age There is alot to be said for going back to traditional ways. Keeping that in mind....some Christmas M&Ms peeking around the tree or whatever would be cute too ! Hockeymom Nov 19, 08 10:18 pm Can someone post a summary of what's been posted in here? I don't feel like reading the 1000+ posts to catch up? ... man, I'm lazy monaco, that is a tall order. Just this evening, this thing has been all over the place. Christine is soliciting suggestions for decorating her store (Second Time Around, got it), Calico wants to know what people are watching tonight, ianimal announced that Mike Mussina is retiring, we are wondering if he'll get into the Baseball Hall of Fame, and I am harassing people (mostly ianimal) about Puddy from Seinfeld. Oops. Missed Hockeymom's post about Thanksgiving. We're staying home, just having a few friends over. We might even forego the big turkey for a couple of turkey breasts. I guess we're lazy. Looking forward to some pies, though. Maybe people are nervous about 1200. Okay, how about 1175 before 6 am? Yes Monaco and I am having a nice conversation with Jan on another thread. :) 1141 NOW! YAY we are on our way. Hi Hope and thanks for responding. I was starting to think I was invisible....it has been mostly Seinfeld here tonight and I cant contribute to that.... Hockeymom Nov 19, 08 10:49 pm Its an early night for me.....have fun all and please keep it going well into the wee hours. Hockeymom Nov 19, 08 11:08 pm You were right Hockeymom I tried to escape but couldn't :-)... someone whose been t Nov 19, 08 11:14 pm 1147.......weird but it went back to 1099. Looks like the day crew (me included) is signing out. Time to do your thing, night crew. Okay, I got it. Phil D? ianimal? Happy? CJ? You guys out there? Goodnight you guys. If you have a chance after you brush your teeth, come on and say hi. Or, you know, if you get up in the middle of the night. Well, I'm just popping in for a minute - I'm actually on my way to bed myself. Oh, and Thanksgiving will be at my old neighbor (as in used to live next to each other - not that she's ancient or anything) house. We hosted last year, this year it's their turn - looking forward to only having to make pies instead of the whole shebang. BTW, Hockeymom, what are you making for Thanksgiving? What are you cooking this weekend? yikes. sleeping people. my turn. Good morning everyone, boy it looks like everyone was busy last night. Hope you all have a nice day. city chick Nov 20, 08 6:48 am Good morning. Boy, Hopeful, you sure made a great effort last night. Now it's your turn to rest up for awhile. Good morning. I'm so glad Mussina decided to retire and go out on top. I can't stand when athletes keep going and going (like this tread) and essentially make "fools" out of themselves. Anybody listen to WDHA? It's the only station I can get in my office. They drive me crazy....seems like they play the same songs over and over. Not necessarily the top hits either. Tired old Pink Floyd songs, the same ones every day about 5 times!!! Ugggh! Good Chilly Thursday All ! Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 8:21 am Did anyone see that large Green light in the sky last night, that kept changing colors, from green to yellow, then purple. I could also hear very faintly Hendrix music coming from it. Clyde Potts Nov 20, 08 8:25 am I received this in an email and thought it was a great idea..if anyone else does please take the time to send one too Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 8:36 am Has anyone checked out the Puppycam yet? Geek mode on. Thanks for the feed of the puppies. I heard that it won't be there much longer as they have all been adopted. Checking it out now! Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 9:17 am Huh??? That type of math is not my strong point. I prefer the puppies....no brainer :) the puppies all ran out of their "box" LOL my luck...as for the math...way tooo early for me Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 9:20 am ianimal? Your asking a guy who sees a large Green light in the sky last night, that kept changing colors, from green to yellow, then purple, to figure that out lol Clyde Potts Nov 20, 08 9:25 am If there is such a thing as Reincarnation, I want to come back as THEY. Because THEY seem to know everything and everyone listens to them Clyde Potts Nov 20, 08 9:31 am There IS such a thing as reincarnation, Clyde. Anyone who sees big green lights in the sky (that keep changing colors, no less) surely can believe in it. Just playing Devil's Advocate, cbel, where do all the extra souls come from? Prime months: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11 Uh you forgot a pretty significant prime number.... I came back after coffee ready to answer Ianimals ponder and he now has the hints.... Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 10:11 am Ummm.... sure, I suppose. But, it's odd that when people are hypnotized and regressed into past lives, they're always Napoleon or Alexander the Great, never a three-toed sloth. "But, it's odd that when people are hypnotized and regressed into past lives, they're always Napoleon or Alexander the Great, never a three-toed sloth" Does anyone else have kids that's into that Twilight book series? I'm taking my daughter to the movie at midnight tonight...(ugh)..no sleep for me The puppies are in full swing now. My birth month is a prime No. As for rincarnation anything is possible but the probability rates are not to great. If I could come back I don't have a clue of what I would like to be, I'm having enough trouble trying to figure this life out...... City Chick Nov 20, 08 11:18 am This thread reminded me of one of the most beautiful books I've ever read about why we are here .. the Little Soul and the Sun, Christine, I vote for the M&M decorations! How's everyone been doing? Almost 2 days and I haven't had the chance to get on the computer! "Just playing Devil's Advocate, cbel, where do all the extra souls come from?" justintime Nov 20, 08 12:22 pm Uh - Oh: 2 hours and only 3 posts...yikes! C'mon people wake up, don't you have anything better to do! :) Nice flurry in the morning; what's up? We need a good question, but ianimal had the audacity to post his favorite city question in a separate thread! I pledge allegiance... to this thread... of the Forum of Hackettstown Life... and to the inanity... for which it stands... one forum... under Chris... indefatigable... with vapidity and nonsense for all. I can't believe there haven't been any comments on the puppies!!! I, for one, LOVED the puppy cam! Sorry, I saw it this morning, sent it on to my animal lovin' friends, and had to leave for most of the day! Thanks, Calico - it's great! They are so cute, I can hardly stand it. I check in on them every couple hours or so. Mmmmmm. It's a Manwich kind of day. Ha - you started something, SueR! Maybe tell her the puppies have to go nite-nite? :) Awwwww - cute age. But just about the time they try to resist a nap - which mom so desperately needs! I noticed in her last post, she was reading - maybe she got absorbed in the book and forgot about us? Well, never say never. We had the first 3 very close together, then many years later, we decided to adopt! So we have 3 married and one still at home! I thought, well it'll keep me young, or age me before my time. The jury is still out. :) Oh geez - I'm not getting sucked into that again either! Been there, done that! LOL. I'm going for a while too - cya later! Im with you Clyde! almost 5 and this has been a very slow day and also at work Hi everyone willwe get to 1300 tonight? city chick Nov 20, 08 4:53 pm Okay, that's 60 before morning? So, by 6 am? I would like to think we can do it, but I have been called optimistic, er, hopeful. Go team! How nice to be missed, SueR. I had get out to the laundomat. I feel the same way, INMCB - I could go to sleep right now although it's only 5:27 - whew! SueR: If you use any branch of the Warren County Library, they do own one copy and it's available now. I just checked online. I have to say I had to back off this thread....I was going to get fired for not working and only post comments. Ok I've tried to post this 3x alrady and my computer is crazy. I think you are all right it gets dark to early and I keep wanting to go to bed and it's only 5:55 city chick Nov 20, 08 5:55 pm OMG!!!!! I haven't check the site in a couple days. over 1200????? Nice job all!!!! lol Evening all. I have been busy today and I guess everyone else has been. But now it is NIGHT and it is time to post..... Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 6:54 pm I go with the artificial tree being I will put it up next week and wont take it down until Jan. 15th. The reason, I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!! Besides, I hate putting all the effort into decorating and then tearing it all down 3 weeks later, no way. I'm going to enjoy it!!! Totally Fake baby...and actually we are in the market... Ladybug Nov 20, 08 7:38 pm Christine,do you have boxes of the old time big Xmas lights at the store? Favorite all time Xmas gift as a kid? Target after Christmas sale for nothing a few years back! All pre lit, it's like opening an Umbrella. I hate the trees you have to put together branch by branch. :-) I want it up and I want it up now. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!! :-))))) I do purchase a wreath every year for the pine smell. Yankee Candle doesnt do it for me. I'm here....job hunting while I keep checking the forum. LOL Hi there! Hockeymom, this year we're doing an artificial tree for the first time -- we're traveling for part of the holidays, so it seems to be the safest option. Plus we got a dog this year, and I don't want to take the chance he's going to nibble and sip. LOL, Ladybug, I read your post before I saw reggie's... I get a real tree every year - and every year when I take it down and I'm cleaning up all the needles, I say "that's it! next year I'm getting a fake tree"! With that being said, I'll be getting a real one again this year.. I just never learn. Wiht our fresh cut tree...we got out the weekend after THanksgiving and I have the tree up until the 15th with not one single needle dropping...you do have to water it every day and several times a day for the first few days but it is our tradition. I also have a small artifical one in the basement too. Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 8:13 pm Ian...LOL... If environmental considerations are an issue on which type of tree you will get, real trees are more environmentally friendly than artificial ones... Ah....finally sitting down for the night. Tuning in for the Cinci/Pitt game. FYI this years tree in Rockefeller Center is a 77 year old Christmas tree planted after the holidays. Check out the sweet story about it. I haven't had a tree for the last 2 years. Probably won't get one this year either. Just seems like too much trouble. OMG I cant remember the questions by the time I read all the posts. Sing to the Tune of Winter Wonderland: Christine, your sunflower is back! ha ha. I really don't think grammar, spelling, context, etc..... matters at all anymore. In a texting shorthand world, we're screwed! mi mi mi( clearing my throat)......We have all started to become freinds and give it our most.... Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 10:14 pm In peace and good feelings where they live and play There once was a man from Nantucket... Clyde.... Hockeymom Nov 20, 08 10:33 pm The First Forum The First Forum The First Forum the poster did say, The First Forum the poster did say, Must...get....to....1300....tonight. I've been dozing all night and now I'm sitting here waiting for the numbers to change. So here's my last contribution. Did we make it? 1300! YES!!!! Being the good Polak that I am, I should have said "Nazdrovnya" but I don't know how to spell it. Tomorrow I will find out. Now I'm really going to bed. Excellent work, someone, Jay, and cbel. Wonder if anyone else is up late. Slowing down could interfere in the Road to 2000. Good Morning everyone, as in the words of a great comedian "How Sweet it is" anyone know who said that? Have a good day...Night crew is the best.... city chick Nov 21, 08 6:41 am Good morning, city chick. I'm up but not quite awake yet. Good morning, good job last night guys! How about shooting for 1,750 by the end of the weekend. I know we can do it. The question is when will we have time to bake our pies? I can't bake so I'll find some time...On Vacation all next week but really need to Xmas Shop. city chick Nov 21, 08 7:43 am Just don't bake, post instead. Tell the family it was in the best interest of the forum..LOL! By the way in case anyone is interested in order to get 2000 by Wednesday Midnight we need to post 114 a day...Think we can do it???? city chick Nov 21, 08 7:48 am Shop Rite bakes a decent pie, just pick some up there and keep posting!!!! Morning All... Hockeymom Nov 21, 08 8:18 am Last night BF was watching the puppy cam in the living room and I was in the kitchen. All of a sudden I heard all this crazy, super loud puppy yipping. I ran in the living room to see what the heck was going on. Well, the lady came home from work and they were going crazy. She fed them and then played with them for a while. It was so cute how one by one they went to the bed and passed out until all six were sleeping...priceless. city chick: I never considered that the daily count ends at midnight. I always count from first good morning post in the am till the last good night post. I bought some fresh pierogies at the Polish deli in P'burg last weekend and put some in the freezer. How long do homemeade pierogies keep in the freezer before their quality goes downhill? You guys are amazing... somehow my eyes kept skipping over this thread but between yesterday and today i've read quite a bit and i'm impressed! Concerned about each of you but still impressed! ;) 3yearresident Nov 21, 08 9:02 am cbel I never thought about it, but your way gives us more time....I think? Happy Friday hope it warms up. city chick Nov 21, 08 9:12 am Well, 24 hours is 24 hours no matter how you look at it. But I just like counting from first one up to last one to sign out. I agree, cbel. We seem to start at about 6 am for the first post and 1 or 2 am for the last of the "day" -- give or take. ianimal: I just reread this morning's posts. You guessed Jackie Gleason before I did, so I guess you get the free pie. Hopeful: Maybe we can have some sort of plan for Thanksgiving. You guys are really sharp and I have to stop looking at this thread or I'm going to have to fire myself...Later City Chick Nov 21, 08 10:13 am The puppies are having breakfast now. Hi hopeful, this is the first thread I've ever done so I'm not really sure of the short letter things so I had to ask my assistant and she gave me what LMAO means....I just entered the 21st century. cbel I can do some time on Thanksgiving late morning or early afternoon is good for me, count me in to keep this going as long as possible this is actually fun.....Bizarre but fun city chick Nov 21, 08 10:34 am 99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer, take one down, pass it around, 98 bottles of beer on the wall... did you see the blind man walking down main street today?? Good morning everyone!!! Great work night crew - love the Forum Christmas Carol - great composing. The rest of you - love you too! Have a great day ALL! Alex, I think he stopped into the hardware store and picked up a hammer and saw.......... Hackettstown Life Comedy Club Clyde Potts Nov 21, 08 11:08 am The thing about Viagra is that you need to swallow it quickly; if you don't, you could wind up with a stiff neck. *no animals were harmed in the making of that lame attempt Two drink minimum, SueR. Ha!!! You guys are toooooo funny - love this - thank you and keep it going guys . . . things seem to be getting stranger on this thread 2 hours and 15 minutes and on vacation I can't waite for this day to be over.... City Chick Nov 21, 08 12:29 pm A blonde gets on an elevator and says to this guy, "T.G.I.F." Here's another one: In response to the original question, it may also mean that the Apocalypse has occurred, that you are the last human left alive on Earth, and that you must now try to establish contact with the space station to let them know, and ask if they can send down a ship to pick you up, the cost and expense of which you will be happy to pay. Two blondes decided that this Christmas they wanted to cut down their own Christmas tree. So they drove two hours into the country and walked deep into the woods to find the perfect Christmas tree. They had planned the trip well, especially considering that they were blond. They were dressed warmly with boots, warm coats and hats. They had a chain saw, hatchet, a bag to protect the tree and rope to drag it back to their car. Every detail was covered. A blonde and a redhead met for dinner after work and were watching the 6 o'clock news. A man was shown threatening to jump from the Brooklyn Bridge. The blonde bet the redhead $50 that he wouldn't jump, and the redhead replied, "I'll take that bet!" Three blondes were walking through the forest when they came upon a set of tracks. I see you all have been very busy today....Keep the laughs going...this is great. I am no good at jokes tho... Hockeymom Nov 21, 08 1:57 pm Our next comedian is from Boston, lets give a warm Hackettstown Life welcome to................ Clyde Potts Nov 21, 08 2:56 pm Er ah... I generally wake up pretty early but I want to stay up late like a big girl.... city chick Nov 21, 08 7:41 pm Good news! The problem is resolved. Since no one seems to be up and I have to continue...I'm just gonna sing: I'm up, too, believe it or not. I'm not going to be here for most of the day -- do your stuff, day crew! Here we go: 147 posts for the day will get us to 1600 by last one to sign out. Can we do it? Good Morning, What does it mean when you are not the last one to post......You keep trying! any predictions on who it will be or will the forum and computers of everyone that has posted on this thread just implode? I guess we will have to count manually - what is the last post that we definitely know the number... I'm thinking the 1000 post. we'll have to count from there and get to here and post the number - then tonight - start from here, count the posts, and put a total to start with tomorrow.. does anyone want to start counting?? lol I (the anal lady) already started. Jill, you're 1468. I'll continue keep track and if anyone wants to do it as well to make sure I'm accurate, that would be great. This manual counting job will definitely be a challenge, but I feel up to it. Wish me luck! It's nice to know I'm good for SOMETHING! Our number is back, but there's a 20-point discrepancy. Chris says 1493 and I get 1473. I think I'm right but I'm sure not going back to post #1 to check. Morning Cbel...you are the sweetest. Thanks for all the counting. I hope everyone continues one... Hockeymom Nov 22, 08 9:50 am I was told last night that the Food Bank in Washington on Church Street has no Food on there shelves this year. Lol Seein the reality Nov 22, 08 10:37 am What the heck happened while I was gone? You kids are going to drive me nuts!:) I don't think Chris would mess with the count. cbel, I wouldn't worry about counting. He may have deleted an objectional comment that would change the actual. :-) #1530 in da house!! I think? Anyway, glad everyone had a great time last night - on this thread and at Calico/BF's party. Cbel's abacus only goes up to 1500. Yeah, it's a pretty big abacus, I though the same thing. I will probably be out also on Black Friday even though every year I say that I am not going to do it. Hi Reggie. Actually, I threw my abacus over my balcony hours ago. Turns out, Chris's numbers are probably accurate. There was just so much stuff coming in last night that the program must have gotten overloaded, as did I this am. Has anyone elfed themselves...I am really bored and pissing in my pants Cbel, you're pretty funny. I wish you would come out wit us one of these days! :-) Must be I'm the only staying in tonight. Besides LOL, LMAO, ROTFL, IMO, BTW, OMG... any new ones out there we're not aware of? Also, what are the above termed? Hey All.... Hockeymom Nov 22, 08 8:02 pm I was copying the website creator with the "W" sign. That's how the chick with the cupcake came to be. I hate this chick and switched back to my original reggie gravitar. It will be coming out sooner or later! :-) It's funny what the website creator does - I tried to post yet, another joke after my two previous back-to-back posts and it wouldn't let me and had a message saying "let someone else have a chance" - very funny, Chris - ha, ha! A: My wife and I were happy for 20 years. I think people are very busy tonight...I hope we can get to our goal...what is it anyway? Hockeymom Nov 22, 08 9:25 pm 2000 by Thanksgiving - I think we will be there early! My guess is Tuesday night. I am kinda upset that I did not win AGAIN. So I not going to post on here tonight cause I am being a poor sport and it just bites. Where's the night crew? Anyone out there....hellooooooo? Hockeymom Nov 22, 08 9:57 pm There are still more "big ones" out there..... Hockeymom Nov 22, 08 10:10 pm I didn't post much today because I realized that this thread was becoming an addiction for me rather than a nice diversion. So I'm going to be scaling back a bit and trying to get a little more balance in my life. But I'm still going to be reading regularly because you guys are really cool Hi Firefly BAY with hugss Hockeymom Nov 22, 08 10:30 pm hi everbody thought I stop in one more time before going to bed looks like everyone is busy tonight not much going on I thought we would reach 1600 tonight maybe tomorrow....Pleasant dreams everyone. city chick Nov 22, 08 10:45 pm Back from my busy day, and another one tomorrow. I see that we have decided not to worry about what the number is -- we'll let Chris play with our minds. We're getting "there" -- 2000 by Thanksgiving seems possible, with Chris's help:) justasking, there's a mildly funny "Saturday Night Live" on right now; Tim McGraw is the guest host. Im not the only one with insomnia? EVer been so busy during the day when it came to bed you couldnt sleep. Yes, Christine, it sometimes happens. Then there's the problem where you need to stay up but you can't...like now. Good morning all. It was nice to read your posts from last night. I live alone so this feels like waking up with family. good sunday morning everyone. Looks like another cold one out there today... Good morning! Yes, it's cold! And did you see the busy snow flurries just a little while ago in town? I don't feel about snow the way LadyBug (the self-described snow bunny) does -- please no snow!!!! SueR: Leave? Never! Just looking for a little balance. Maybe like checking in once an hour or so instead of every 15 minutes. When you start counting posts to veryify the program's numbers, you know you're trouble! Come on folks!!!! Where are all the posts!!!???!!!! Posting Slackers. Morning! GooooooooD Morninggggggggggggggggggggggg Hackettstown (and all surrounding areas and all the wonderful posters. This is the best topic yet. I love it! Good morning everyone it's not as cold as yesterday....Seems to be very slow in here I guess everyone is busy... city chick Nov 23, 08 10:37 am Good (almost) afternoon everyone! Love the pic, INMCB - great movie too! cbel, since I work a lot on the computer, sometimes I check in every 5 minutes -- or fewer! It can get bad, I know. Just adding one more . . . and bumping this up - hope everyone is having a beautiful day! Wow, we are low-key today. That means that everyone is out having a life. Nice. Hi Everyone..... Hockeymom Nov 23, 08 2:19 pm Hockeymom - Echinacea is wonderful for catching a cold before it takes over. Hope you're all feeling better soon! Ooh, Hockeymom, not colds for the holiday! Start pumping the warm beverages -- especially the tea (decaf for the kids, with a little sugar and milk)! I woke up with a cold! UGH! Sorry to intervene, Hopeful, but Hockeymom (and Christine) try the echinacea or Zicam and as for hot drinks - make them with honey and lemon - works everytime! I am way ahead of you. Been taking wellness formula and zicam since 6am. Just runni to the bathroom alot. LOL! OMG these pills have me going and going just like that commercial. LMAO! Yeah, in my experience, if you can catch these things early enough and start drinking a lot of healthy fluids (and, yes, going a lot), you can flush it out. Hi All...and thanks....My husband refuses to admit his is sick...and wont take anything...needless to say I am staying far away from him. My son is miserable today but I have him drinking lots of water, G2( he lives on it for hockey ) and tea. I am the one taking the C and echinacea....also tea and water....I am more doing the prevention end. Hockeymom Nov 23, 08 4:44 pm I haven't had anything to contribute today but I have been logging on to keep up with things. Hockeymom and Christine: I sure hope you feel better in time to enjoy your Thanksgivings. WOW! I actually fell asleep in between trips to the bathroom. LOL! Took a hot shower and let it drain as Dr. Chi would say. Oh, Christine, gotta love Dr. Chi! Hope you're feeling better! Feel better Christine. SOrry I never made into store but will be in sometime soon. Had the cold 3 weeks ago. The cough seems to drag for quite awhile. It has really made the rounds. Feel better all! cbel! I am seeing a new little blue gravatar! I can't really tell what it is, but it's cute nonetheless. Hockeymom, try your gravatar again! I see from Reggie's new forum that Chris fixed something with the gravatars, and I am seeing your candles up by your name in some, but not all, of your posts above in this forum. I like there gravators better not quite as mean looking...I am not mean!!! So since I haven't been mentioned in any of the past few posts, I guess I'll mention myself - what up? Hey Guys....I am here for the night. I will be posting on and off while I am working. What's up with my new gravitar? When I got my last one I said I looked like a pensive doofus. But I got used to it. It looked, to me, like someone who was pondering the subject at hand before making a comment, and I liked it. This one looks like a stinkbug! Happy, hi! We do need to pay homage to you every so often - you started this crazy thread. OOOOHHHH! I just has some Itlaian penicillen! I ran out of tissues and my nose hurts! cbel, I meant if you don't like it, it doesn't matter if I do... yeah, Reggie, a chicken rabbit! Sorry cbel. Hi Hopeful, Is anyone elses threads not reading correctly. Usually it rests but according to mine no ne has posted since 4ish. Hi everybody we reached over 1600 I didn't really think we would since it seemed so quite earlier today.. city chick Nov 23, 08 8:31 pm Yeah! 1600! Hello it's Sunday night and I am Thankful that I only have 3 days of work. Brian's song is on! I guess I should find some Kleenex if I am going to keep watching it! Also a very interesting show called Sugar Mummies on BBC. Well not really that interesting but odd to say the least. You have to love the BBC I just checked our stats. SueR started us off today with 1560 at 6:34. We're somewhat behind our daily average, but there's lots to do to get ready for Thanksgiving, after all. Love the candles, Hockeymom - That's for sure Cbel. I am going to start getting very busy but will do my best to get here off and on to post. I think I will post here one more time for the effort. Time to get some sleep unless I am given some incentive to stay awake. Maybe I should check the dating thread. Reggie when are we taking the sling shot out? Oh and I more question. Well, 1650 would be a good goal -- might be kind of hard on an "adult school night," as Reggie called it last week. You know, we did 1,000 posts this week. We were just about at 650 last Sunday evening. I think I made a stupid decision this weekend.....the right decision but still very sad about it Hi Just...good to see you tonight. Love the new pink snowflake or is it a quilting design... I do love my new pink snowflake which is great for this time of year. I found out that my Ex-mother in law is coming into town and I offered for my kids to go there for Thanksgiving. So my kids will be spending Thanksgiving with their dad who they have not seen since before Easter. I know its the right thing but I am just sad. Just, that is a great pink snowflake. Sorry about your difficult Thanksgiving; but your kids will thank you for their time with their dad, so that's good. I can see that it will be hard for you, though. Will you be able to have some fun that day? I will be with my family but I am sure my heart will be with them. I will be fine. just asking you are a good soul. BUT are you alone now for Thanksgiving? You can join us if you would like. Christine, Now I am crying, That was so nice and very sweet. Thank you so much. I really will be with my family. Thank you all so much. I haqve been known to have strangers for Holidays. It is all about giving of ones self ya know. Well...it seems that perhaps interest in keeping this thread going is fading afterall. Too bad.....I too, have been posting on other threads but keep coming back here to keep things going. Hockeymom, we're almost up to 1650 tonight -- we've had a steady flow this evening, although not as crazy as last Sunday night. Maybe if we get to 2000 on Thanksgiving, it will be time to have Chris check on our place in the record books. I am sorry for you just asking. Many women are put in your position. I really dont know how men cannot help financially to raise ther children. THERE are good guys out there just heed to find them. So so true, Christine. Good luck, Justasking, and try to enjoy! DONT feel sorry for me, please. I am so much happier than I was married. I feel bad for women then dont think they can do it on their own. It took me a long time to leave because in an abuse (mentally for me)relationship their goal is to keep you down. I got out of that mess. Finally divorced. My kids are beautiful and healthy and in therapy with me. We will make it. Just Asking: Just keep taking the high road and one day your children will acknowledge your efforts. Trust me. Been there. what the hell did everyone smoke tonight? Dolly is missing, Christine is spitting all her germs all over her computer, Reggie and Ed should be getting a room, Dog luvr has cat pooping in his wife's garden, and then there is the person who want to call someone about a wolf that may be a dog or something else. Everyone is goofy tonight, is it a full moon? Or is everyone just mooning each other? Uh-oh, Reggie, are you predicting another thread shut-down? Is that why you posted a link to the thread IN the thread? Happy, I am liking your virtual hugs. They are very warm. Good morning -- that was an oddly long time for posting to have been disabled. I was hoping we'd get to 1650 last night. Morning All... Hockeymom - I guess its the season for sick kids...both of mine are home today with two different ailments. Hope your son feels better for Turkey day. someone whose been t Nov 24, 08 8:30 am Morning someone... Sorry for all the sick kids! Good luck parents. good morning everyone...I'm going xmas shopping today I'm off all week so I thought I'd try and get most of it done...Of course I will have to buy some presents for me not to many can't afford it. Hope everyone has a good day I'll check in later. city chick Nov 24, 08 9:13 am Hey, everybody... happy Monday, even though it's practically Wednesday,if you're an optimist. Hey you guys are a hoot...keep it going!!! Good morning everyone! Too Funny Sue R....My son is one of the aforementioned sick kids. He is upstairs sneezing and coughing....I am busy cleaning up after his little coughs and sneezies...LOL I will never be ready for my company starting tomorrow. Good thing they uderstand that we actually live in this house ! I think Clyde must have had dinner at the Smokehouse and doubled up on the baked beans for his side dishes (-; I think the holidays are here, the weather is becoming cold and yucky and everyone is unmotivated including me Can you believe that the Jodi Applegate topic has reach 150 posts????? Clyde Potts Nov 24, 08 12:28 pm Don't forget today is the last day to plant your seeds, so you will have a tree by Xmas Clyde Potts Nov 24, 08 12:30 pm I can't believe that people are still talking about it... Vacation day today, so plenty of time to get a post in to add to the total. Knocked a couple of little things off of the "to do" list. Can't bring myself to get to the painting....HATE IT!! If I post everytime I procrastinate while I'm on vacation, 2000 posts should be no problem!!! Clyde, Seed, what seed? My tree is in the attic. Taking it out is on my to do list also. Welcome back fellows. ianimal, that's cool about the wedding favor! I'm a big fan of puns AND little bottles of alcohol. Of course I meant 2000 by Thursday. Hope we don't have to start over somewhere... Hopeful: Stop? We can't! We'll still have 26,000 to hit to beat the world's record, according to (jivedig: Are you the one who knew the record?) I want to go home! I feel horrible. Dr. gave me a antibiotic so hopefully I will be better by Thursday. Sing to the tune of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: sorry guys, I hadn't posted in a few days, had to make it good (OK, not good but at least entertaining?!) Hopeful YES it was cold 20d Clyde Potts Nov 24, 08 1:32 pm Great job, Beanzer... although if everyone puts that amount of thought into each and every post, we'll never get to 2,000 by Thursday (-; That was great, Beanzer. Either you're very talented or you've got waaaayyyy too much time on your hands - I'll bet it's the first one. Hope: 2500 is the Europe trip, if I remember correctly. I am not going back to read everything again. Does anyone want an animal? If so, please come over and help yourselves to one of ours - your pick. Clyde - League Baseball..that was funny. Took me a minute to get it. Good thing I'm from NY and think in an accent or I wouldn't have. Disturbing that you know of the other 2!! or not..
Remember when Jerry and George went to NBC with their idea of a show about nothing? Surely we can get HLL (Hackettstown Life Live) a spot somewhere. Who will write and who will act TBD, but I think we may have something here.
Beanzer, Love the song...... Clyde - League Baseball..that was funny. Took me a minute to get it. Good thing I'm from NY and think in an accent or I wouldn't have. Disturbing that you know of the other 2!! or not.. Clyde Potts Nov 24, 08 3:45 pm Rebecka, I love your classified ad posts with the photos and the personality quirk information. I have a dog that, like Hazel, despises all other animals, too, so I can't help you out (except maybe Bluebonnet -- what kind of bird is he?). But I look forward to hearing about their new homes. Why do they need to go? What does it mean when you're the last one to post... Well I went Xmas shopping spent more on myself than anybody eles I went to the Crossing and it was empty never saw it like that really strange. Hope we can make 1700 tonight. I also went to that store in town called Around the World really a great store lot of neat different things... city chick Nov 24, 08 5:36 pm Hopeful - I was just kidding. Sometimes it feels like I'm a zookeeper, and the menagerie gets to be too much. Just wanted to let the well wishers know that my kids are healthy enough to go back to school tomorrow...thank goodness. I hope everyone else feels better. someone whose been t Nov 24, 08 7:12 pm Gees I signed into this thread. It is now 8:08pm and I forgot all about the council meeting. Darn darn darnit. Christine please report in when you get back. Rebecka Cherish these years as I know you do...they go as quick as smoke through a keyhole. Folks: Here's some disheartening news. We're at 79 posts for today. In order to hit 2000 by last post Wednesday night, we need 281 more. This does not look too promising. Maybe we should just ease up and enjoy our week. What do you think? Oh Rebecka, sorry I misunderstood:) You were racking up the posts, right? Well your pets are adorable and I'm sure you do have your hands full! Im back!!!! I agree with Clyde and Firefly, cbel. We can do it! Thanks for the update, Christine. That's good news. Couple of things: That was a good idea, Hopeful. Wonderful Christine about hiring one officer. Every little bit helps. Get some rest. Calico and BF will be officially Mr and Mrs Calico tomorrow. I think they said the big night was Tues when there was no football on. LOL My guess is they are having a great time. I like the idea of giving it til Thanksgiving at midnight. I am thinking it can still be done. Personally, I think the hiring of one officer is a good thing. I am glad they worked something out. Give and take. 70-yard catch and run from Drew Brees to Lance Moore... Re: What does it mean when you're the last one to post . . . Ponderthis Nov 24, 08 9:17 pm 7-yard pass from Aaron Rodgers to Greg Jennings... TOUCHDOWN!!!! ianimal, are you typing in English? I have no clue what the heck you are talking about Just checking in before I turn in for the night . . . 14-yard pass from Drew Brees to Lance Moore... TOUCHDOWN!!!! Go for it, ianimal. And congratulations on the fantasy playoffs. I hope all your football fantasies come true. Aaron Rodgers 10-yard run.... TOUCHDOWN!!!! Hartley - 30-yard FG @ 0:02 of the 2nd quarter. Help Ive fallen and I cant get up!!!! The blue stuff ain't for eatin'... it's for rasslin'. I stepped away for an hour to watch Prison Break and you all went wild. I love you guys! I'm going to catch up on the other threads now, and then call it a night. This is just ridiculous. Fun, to be sure, but just ridiculous. Hi All..... Drew Brees 16-yard pass to Billy Miller.... TOUCHDOWN!!!! You guys are impressive today. Nice to see everyone back. I hope to do better tomorrow Deuce McAllister 4-yard run... TOUCHDOWN!!!! I hope you all feel better -- blue sugar-free Jello? That just ain't right. Eat some frosting and drink some tea and call me in the morning:) SueR - its 17 pages, you need to fine time to read a pamphlet?? (BTW - I never read it) It took me 30 minutes, but I have caught up on every post on every thread. God forbid I should miss something. Now I'm turning in. Nite all. Drew Brees 70-yard pass to Marques Colston... TOUCHDOWN!!!! ianimal, you am the man. I see I spelled McAllister wrong. Got carried away. As Colston almost did when he flipped that ball in the end zone. Yeah, but Drew Brees needs to relax, lol... Aaron Rodgers 4-yard pass to Ruvell Martin... TOUCHDOWN!!!! Jeez, it doesn't look good for the Cheeseheads. Another NO touchdown? That's Shaqtastic! what's with the 2-point conversion attempt? didn't look too good... Pierre Thomas 31-yard run... TOUCHDOWN!!! Sorry, Hockeymom -- didn't see your post until now. Hope you're feeling okay, too. Check out the cupcake place. It'll definitely improve your health:) great news, ianimal. good luck in the playoffs. super job with the forum tonight. just about to 1800! Good morning all. Lots to do today. Russ Long said to look for snow today. I hope he's wrong. And I hope everyone who wasn't feeling well yesterday is doing better today. See you later. Morning All... Hello and good morning. Wasn't that a GREAT Thanksgiving Parade last night. I hope Hackettstown makes it an annual event. cbel it was a pleasure meeting you there. Clyde Potts Nov 25, 08 9:23 am Good morning all - and since it's 2 days till Turkey Day - let me ask you something . . . this year, what are YOU thankful for? I am thankful for my health. Even thlugh it was a tough year healthwise being diagnosed with a major disease I am thankful that I am alive and walking. In case I forget later, I'm gonna post this now. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.... I'm thankful for having health insurance. I am thankful for my family - especially the sweet dear daughter and husband. Coralie that's so sweet. Me too and I am thankful for my new kitty! I love to squeeze him! Just thought I'd add a post to the thousands here! And I am thankful for my family!
Good Luck w/ it. I just had my 2nd laminectomy done for a massive herniation. I am thankful for my family, who I love very much. Also thankful for this thread, and getting to be silly and fun with people whom I consider friends even though I have never met some of you, at least by your screen name. Clyde Potts Nov 25, 08 12:02 pm Clyde - that's very sweet ~ Sorry Clyde, No LOL! I am just biored with the same old same old thing. I am thankful that seemingly random events and seemingly insignificant decisions made each and every day have brought me to this exact place and time in my life. Christine, Sue - interesting link. Apparently we're all poor and uneducated to boot! Where DO they get their info from? I'm having SueR's S&P's tonight. Picked up my turkey at Shop Rite. Then I got my sausage and peppers in the crock pot. Meal preparation: 17 minutes. Hmmm. Cook or read a book? OR, take 34 minutes and do BOTH! Yes instead of their regular Wed. due to Thanksgiving. Clyde Potts Nov 25, 08 3:32 pm Clyde: Don't you like to cook? ianimal does. I'm sure he would teach you how to make a few simple meals if you asked him nicely. SueR LOL Clyde Potts Nov 25, 08 5:00 pm Same goes for me, Clyde. Dinner always tates better when the other guy made it. #1828 - #2000, here we come! That's only 172 more posts between now and Thursday . . . we can do it - we can do it! okay, I was recruited to this thread from another one by cbel...lol. :-D Calico and BF are soon to be honeymooners. does anyone want to guess the date and time of the 2000 post? Hi everybody looks like everyone is working hard to reach our goal of 2000 by Thanksgiving. city chick Nov 25, 08 8:06 pm I dont think we will make it because so many people have to get ready for turkey day. But it would be cool if we did. Jersey Girlie - when is the Washington Boro Farmers' Market? I love good sausage. Thx. home.aristotle.net/Thanksgiving/trivia.asp www.home.aristotle.net/Thanksgiving/trivia.asp Have faith we will make it this has gone on for a long time I can't believe this is the end and we won't make 2000. city chick Nov 25, 08 8:16 pm
OK. That was 1841. 159 to go before last post tomorrow. Piece of cake. Well thought I would say it again because I am so excited......WE FOUND A PLACE! For the Knudsen Family that is. LOL Re: Farmers market - are there farmers there selling fall/year-round items (apples, sausage and meats, honey) or is it only in the Summer. cbel, did you say you were being Hopeful? Welcome! Oops; I shouldn't have complained about being sick today...it did stink, though. "I got better." (name that movie) ianimal tells Clyde to use the bathroom and tells the rest of us to take a quiz? I swear, I don't know what's going on here half the time, but at least I'm posting. Well that's definitely something we can be thankful for (Knudsen Family) YAY !!! Rebecka: I looked it up and they shut down for the winter the last week of October. Sorry! :-/ I think this is post #1861 - I don't know why, but I'm exhausted tonight and will be turning in shortly = goodnight happy people! link works, ianimal, but I'm afraid to say that I know next to nothing about turkeys! This Tom's goose is cooked! justintime Nov 25, 08 9:23 pm It's nice to see the additions to the Poll thread. We still have quite a few more to hear from, though. Jersey Girlie - thanks so much. S.O. works right near Lebanon. Will send him on a mission. Yum... It's 10:08... do you know where my children are? Evening everyone ! Hockeymom Nov 25, 08 10:10 pm One last word of advice before I retire for the evening... when you buy a bag of potatoes, don't put it on top of the fridge out of sight. ok, I'll add to this...as immature as it may be. Not sure anyone asked this before, but a question we all think to ourself at times: I know whatcha mean about those potatoes. Day before yesterday I went to make some mashed potatoes and when I pulled the bag out they were sitting in a puddle of brown slime. It was foul! And I just bought those taters!!! Had to toss an entire 5 pound bag... and potatoes aren't that cheap anymore. All right, I'm really going to bed now... get to 1900 and we'll cruise on home tomorrow. Good Evening Everyone, Just came home to find I think everyone is asleep. Went to the movies tonight - saw Twilight and I am here to tell you save your money and watch reruns of Dawson's Creek I'm still up. Gonna catch up on the other threads, wash up and then sign off. See you in a few minutes. I have not been on all day today. Everyone I think is asleep, cbel and I have a ton of reading to do. I thought we would be over 1900 by tonight but I dont think that will happen Thanks, Hockeymom -- it was an aura-filled day. I should have posted on Froggy's Lilypad... Just Asking, OMG, I love 3-D films! The last one I saw was Jaws 3, for real! lol I hate to even google it to see what year it was made. :-) Or maybe Friday the 13th, Part infinity.. jeeesh.... i gotta google.... Interesting results! Jaws 3, 3-D was released in 1983 and Friday the 13th Part 3, 3-D was released in 1982. I so wanted to love Twilight but I have never seen a Vampire movie without any blood, disappointing. Why am I up at this time? I am sitting on the porch watching these Hula Dancers. Clyde Potts Nov 26, 08 2:33 am Clyde Go to bed! Good Morning to the day crew. Looks like the night crew was busy. Good morning everyone. We only need 109 posts today. Someone is going to have to stay up very late tonite to get 2000 unless we all pitch in. Let's see how early we can all turn in tonight. Have a great day! If this is going to get to 2000 post by tommorrow we better start yappin.. whats every ones fav thanksgiving dish? Fave Thanksgiving dish... Pecan pie -- but only when it's baked by my husband. Is Twilight as popular as Harry Potter? I'm really only just now hearing about it now, but I have sons. Is it more geared toward girls? I did hear someone say she took her daughter to a midnight showing of the film. Too bad the movie wasn't so good. Morning I tried posting last night but it said I had to give someone else a chance I love cinnomin apples someone on here gave me a recipe and im going to try it :-) thanks all Did you know the number of this forum is 61526? But this might be post #1900! Or not. Back later. No, Katy was 1900! Congratulations, Katy! You win -- let the countdown begin.... all right, i'm all screwed up chronologically... you guys figure it out, im gonna get some work done, lol im so confused i jsut found out on a dif post that you where trying to get this to 2000 b 4 turkey day what was the 1900 about lol can't get to 2,000 without getting past 1,900. you achieved a minor milestone along the way. Congrats (-; Boy I can't believe it you guys where really busy last night we will definitly make 2000 by Thanksgiving. Is that some kind of record? city chick Nov 26, 08 8:46 am My favorite is candy yams with marshmallows my mother used to make the best and stuffing God I'm hungry already. I'm going to my sons and daughter-in-laws for dinner so it saves me clean up..I do Xmas. city chick Nov 26, 08 8:56 am Candied yams with marshmallows. Yum. Okay, what's the difference between sweet potatoes and yams? A cranberry sauce is a tasty side if its done with apples, pears, nuts and brown sugar. localmom Nov 26, 08 8:59 am Morning everyone! Morning everyone! I agree with cbel - I like the healthy part of Thanksgiving - turkey skin, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, and pie with lots and lots of whipped cream. Use to love the leftover sandwich (stuffing, turkey, cranberry sauce and mayo between bread) as the favorite dish after the main dinner. My mom would place the stuffing so tight in the turkey (I know it is wrong to do that now for fear of food poisioning) that you could slice it for sandwiches afterwards. This is was the best for days afterwards. Hopeful - cook cranberries in sugar water, then chop them up with oranges in the processor - I think you'll still have to add sugar or it will be too tart. Coralie, a little food poisoning is good for the soul =). I love the stuffing cooked in the turkey (it so tasty) and there is never enough stuffing. My husband is smoking the turkey today - then tomorrow - in the turkey fryer for an hour... YUM Anyone see the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving last night? My kids saw it for the first time. They asked who drove the car to the grandmothers house, and why didn't they have on seat belts! localmom Nov 26, 08 9:36 am Haha, SueR, my wife does the same thing with March of the Wooden Soldiers every year (personally, I can't stand Laurel and Hardy). Hopeful in H-twown asked: "what's the difference between sweet potatoes and yams?" You've likely never had a real yam, Sue. Those candied things in the can aren't yams, they're sweet potatoes. ianimal you crack me up, and at this rate we will be able to crack each other up all the time because you already said that you had to go to work and if I dont get off this thread I will be fired also Sorry SueR the girls are gone, I can only speak Hawaiian when they are here, not sure why, its strange Clyde Potts Nov 26, 08 10:11 am At the rate you guys are going, we could be "done" by dinnertime. A free evening for the posters? What a delightful thought! But then I would probably miss all the chit chat. I think the worst is the rutabaga, SueR... they're a lot like turnips but with an even grosser-sounding name, lol. eeew.... I just remembered parsnips... they're like turnips that didn't get an education. Okay, so it's likely I've never had a yam. Got it. Candied sweet potatoes are good, too!
