Automatic car starter?

Morning all, does anyone have any recommendations on where to have a car starter installed? My wife wants one for Christmas. Also, does anyone have one? Do you recommend it or should I sway her towards something else? Thanks.

The car starter is one of the best inventions! lol I love having mine. My husband and I have always had one put into our new vehicles, but NOT from the dealership. Their cost is outragous. I beleive we had our last ones done at Best Buy. Believe me, it is so convenient, she will love it!!

My sister has one and everytime she turns on her car and its freezing out I am so jealous. Also in the rain, in the summer, etc I am jealous. I so want one but I will need a new car soon so it doesnt make since for me to install one now. There is a store (I dont know that name of it) across from Hackettstown Ford next to the railroad tracks they install them. And I believe that the area car dealer use them.

I believe you're referring to ExoticCustom across from H'Twn Ford.

I have done business with them on a few after market parts on my truck. Nothing installed but they were great and easy to deal with and fairly priced.

Mrs. C has a great car starter! It hasn't failed her yet! I go out every morning to start her car and pull it around to the front door!

I would also recommend Exotic Custom. They did one in my car. They were actually able to integrate the system in with my factory remote so I didn't need a second remote. All I had to do was push the lock button three times and the car started. I believe it cost around 400 or 500 bucks

As someone who works in the automotive industry as a factory rep, I have seen these with disasterous results. I do mean disasterous.
Here's how to do it while minimizing a disaster.
1.) Contact your dealer to see if there is a Factory Accessory Available. (many car companies now offer these as an accessory either installed prior to delivery, or installed after delivery. If your make offers a remote car starter, purchase this.
2.) If your brand of car does NOT offer these as an accessory, see if they offer it as an accessory through a local vendor. Ask how it will affect the vehicle warranty. Ask if they have any recommended contacts or vendors they do business with locally.
3.) I do not know the business downtown so personally I would proceed with caution. Read other postings to get a feel on the quality of their installations.
My recommendation though, contact your dealership first for their recommendations.
Good luck

I got one for my wife (Best Buy). They did try the old Bait-N-Switch deal. Tried to up-sell me on all the accessories.
Just say no thanks, Overall she will never not have one again, she loves it, & I love not having to go out and start her car up anymore :)
