Stuffed Animals/Used Toys
Does anyone know of a place that accepts donations of stuffed animals and used toys that are in very good condition? Just cleaned out the kid's closet and don't want to throw them away if someone else can use them. Thanks. | HappyMom July 23, 2008 5:32 pm | Link |

sometimes the local daycare centers take donations.Also I have heard the that fire men and police take then for children in accidents or fires. You may also try the womens/childrens center for abuse, I bet they can use stuff like that. | Cherie  July 23, 2008 6:25 pm | Link |

My friend's daughter almost peed the floor there, because they wouldn't let her use the bathroom. I wouldn't shop at Kid's Junction. How can you say no to a child? I love bringing my kids' used toys in good condition to Kids' Junction, and have been a very happy customer for years. They do not accept stuffed animals, so I Freecycle them or donate them.
As for the bathroom, I've never asked to use it. I wouldn't hold it against them for not opening their bathroom to the public.
I went to Second Time Around once a few years back to try to open an account - not only did they want a (small fee), but they told me I had to set up an appointment to have my items reviewed (to see if they were acceptable to be sold). I was even willing to do that, since I had more than just my kids' items to sell, even though they were not very friendly about it, but the kicker was that the appt. was 3 months away! Sorry, but they lost my consignment business - I donated it all, and it was good stuff too.
I do shop there occasionally to see if I can find a bargain. But it irked me that once a man stopped in and said, "Oh, my wife said I can stop in and drop off our stuff" and he didn't have to stay and have his stuff reviewed and it didn't seem he had an "appointment". | Mommy July 25, 2008 12:02 am | Link |
Mommy, Seems you dont now our policy and I apologize for that. My ients in my store are HIGH quality. The reason i do it by appoinment is I can control what comes in. I do not have alot of room and refuse to put baby carriages and items out in the rain like Kids Junction. Bikes and outdoor toys I will but not soft itemsI dont have storage for clients to bring in all seasons of clothes like Kids Junction either. They have a storage unit that they havent been in for years.(was told this by the owner) My items get put out immediately and start making money right away. As for the bathrrom issue. I have to say why would you refuse ANYONE the use of the bathroom. Maybe that child had a problem. SHAME ON THEM! As for the person dropping off things without an appoinmnet. Many of my regular clients call me throughout the day with iems they KNOW are popular and sell fast. I tell them to just drop them off.I also get rid of 75% of the items that you bring into my store. If you seem to have a problem with my store why not fall me directly instead of airing it on this site?

I don't want to pick a fight, but I was repeating what YOU or YOUR employees told me, so it seems I do know your policies. Am I not correct on the fee, the appointment, the wait time, the man who stopped in? Thank you for explaining it better.
If you have a problem with Kids Junction, perhaps you should contact them directly instead of shaming them on this site and discussing their business practices you don't agree with.
Again, I wish you well, we just see things differently and that's okay. If you are happy with how you run your business and your customers are happy, then that's great and you don't need to worry about one person who is not. I did not shame them I am just repeating what I was told. You are the one shaming me without the facts.

Seems you dont know the issue otherwise you would have questioned it at the time As I stated above many of my regulars call me during the day with items trhat are very popular and would sell quickly.
What my employees said is TRUE and a proven POLICY! They did exactly what they were told!I am always booked ahead as I stated above I DO NOT HAVE STORAGE.As a matter of fact right noiw we are not taking new clients as I want my regular clients to get in for the next season. I am also very popular as I take not only children items but adult, household, baby items, and furniture.
Your right I am VERY HAPPY with the way my business is run and I do very well. Just if next time you feel the need to talk about my store get the facts or just ask.
